    Grab & go food

There are many sections to this market, from pizzas, salad bar, bakery, coffee section, etc. I wanted something to wake myself up & was going to originally get an iced latte. Then I saw the banana split iced coffee and had to try that, so I got a large. Next to the cash register was banana bread, so I got that to go with the iced coffee. I've always heard this place was expensive, but for the size of the iced coffee and the banana bread it only came out to $11.19 which I think was a steal. The iced coffee definitely woke me up, and the banana bread was tasty.

This place still holds up as a solid eatery within the area. There's a lot going on so it's best to come in with a plan. Feeling a sandwich? Head straight to the sandwich counter. Looking for something healthy? They have a salad and juice bar and over in the corner is the pizza station. Also, breakfast options available at the griddle! Finally, take your pick of some hot prepared dishes if you're looking for something heartier. This time I grabbed a sandwich called the Gay Paris. It had ham, Brie, and tomato with a Dijon spread. I requested no tomato because sometimes that makes the sandwich really soggy and gross. The counter didn't have baguettes so I requested ciabatta bread. I wasn't mad about it, but I think this sandwich does belong more on a baguette. There was a lot of the sandwich and usually that's not a problem but in this case, I just wanted something on the lighter side. Peppered around the store or treats, snacks, side salads, an assortment of beverages, pretty much anything you could crave. I snagged a bag of chips, an iced tea, and after paying for everything with the receipt of what I ordered at the sandwich counter, I made my way to the small dining area to eat quickly. Yes, a small dining area of about eight tables. You are asked if you want your food to stay to go, but I got mine to go because I wasn't sure how long I would stay. If you're looking for a quiet place, this isn't it, but it is a good place for a pitstop if needed. Right off the expressway, but don't park and ride here because you will be towed. Not bad place to check out, but definitely come in with a game plan otherwise you may get overwhelmed.

Large variety of grab and go or casual light bite sit down eatery. Upper level big deli, hot food, pizza, salads, and as the name implies a little of everything. Whether a glazed shrimp salad, roast sandwich with avocado made fresh - lemon soda from Italy - my fav - its there. Popular well staffed in a great spot - everything moving and fresh.

Beach special? I don't remember the name. But yum!

Heading out of New York and happened to stumble on this jewel. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich around. Will be adding this place as a regular stop when visiting NY from now on.

    The Milano Sandwich, insane!

I'm driving with a co worker leaving White Plains and he said, any ideas for lunch? Instantly I said: The Bronx? nah, parking, blah blah blah. He knows a spot in Roslyn that makes good sandwiches. (I'm not thrilled at this suggestion..) We walk in and my frown instantly turned upside down. What is this magical mystery tour, it's like OZ up in here! Is it a supermarket? Pizza spot? Deli? Kitchen Kabaret is everything you want it to be. I stood on the sandwich line and see the many combination hero choices. My buddy is getting hot pastrami. Wait wut?! Crazy man. I ordered "The Milano" chicken cutlet on a freshly baked Italian hero with mutz, peppers and pesto sauce? Man, I'm so down to clown, yes! Here's the thing with delis. They're cooking the chicken cutlets in bulk. I'm a chicken cutlet snob. Some spots will undercook their cutlets and the breading will get mushy after sitting for a few hours. Some will overcook their cutlets and if them make the razor thin, it's like eating shoe leather. Kitchen Kabaret makes a damn good cutlet! The breading was a little too dark for me but damn, they made a proper sandwich. Now I like a great hero but I'm really a soup fiend. I see a few of their soup offerings. Very nice. Kitchen Kabaret, you made a ROCKIN' sandwich yesterday. Kudos!

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Well, I'm not sure how much the city of Roslyn has to offer though, so maybe it's the place to be as it got pretty packed as the evenings went on. I went once for dinner and had a pretty good shrimp cocktail with large shrimp and bland cocktail sauce, even with the extra horseradish. My seared tuna was overcooked, but had a nice flavor. Seared usually means some type of crusty charred goodness, but this didn't have it. The chai creme brûlée was good, but the sugar wasn't torched properly and didn't have that snap, crackle or pop which is what it's supposed to have. On a second night I went for cocktails which were $20 a pop! Yes, it was a bit pricey, but they were well made... with the exception of not having a luxardo cherry in "The Brooklyn". The staff was friendly and remembered me from the night before. They have a pretty good menu, and also a separate Indian menu and seemed to be a place for some local celebrations going on. Good (not great), pricey and very close to my hotel room!

We were there for a wedding and had gotten to the hotel around 8am to the brides room. The rest of the bridal party went downstairs to check in, because the link sent to our email to check in early was not working for us (it worked for others just not us for some reason). Check in was at 3 but as we had all gotten emails to check in early and couldn't, we went downstairs to check in. We understood that our room would not be ready until 3 but just wanted to pre check in as I've done MANY times before at other hotels. When we went down to the front desk to request this, the young woman working the desk was EXTREMELY rude WITH an attitude telling us that we aren't able to check in because they didn't have rooms yet. I explained that we dont need a room yet but that we got emails to check in early and it didn't work for us and we weren't going to be back until 1am. She responded again rudely telling us we can't check in with an annoyed facial expression. On top of that, we had mini gift bags that all the guests were to receive when they got to the hotel as the hotel had room blocks for the wedding. They were given to the front desk with the request to put them in the rooms for those there for the wedding. We were told this was no problem, as guests were arriving they had the bags behind the desk and started handing out multiples to each person even though the instructions were one per room and to be in the rooms. One of the guests went up to the front desk explaining to the women that they were supposed to be in the rooms already and one per room (again as we were told they can do this earlier in the day). She rudely, with an attitude, told her that "they don't do that" and they'll hand them out when guests are checking in "if they remember". Overall, the main issue was the lack of professionalism from the front desk women who were extremely nasty and miserable.
