Old Roslyn is an amazing spot to be in. Lots of history around you and plenty of restaurants in this area. I found 'Delicacies Gourmet' completely by accident and... I was looking for a Italian shop where I could get a slice. It had been a while since I was in that area and 'think' Delicacies took over that spot. There is ample searting here too and I think more people were taking out food than sitting We were well greeted as we walked in to the "Sushi Section," and walked through the gateway in to the main deli area. The store is long and narrow with plenty of stations of foods. Honestly, there was some good looking food here. I was with my friend who ordered a simple turkey sandwich while I wound up with just a bagel and cream cheese. It was almost sinful looking at all the great food around us. The team here is wonderful and everyone is clearly focused on their customer's experience. Looking forward to going back soon and trying some of their delicious looking food. read more

This long narrow deli is in what I assume is "downtown" Roslyn, which is about 2 blocks of shops and eateries. I needed a quick snack so I dropped in for a NY Bagel, toasted with butter. I wasn't sure where/what to order as it was kinda not organized very well, so I walked to the register in the back of the store and ordered. There was a bit of a wait and the place is just not set up for standing near the counter waiting for your bagel. This place was walking distance from my hotel so I figured I would try it. Located in the quaint downtown Roslyn, it's a great quick stop. You order at the counter from any type of meat, bread and fixens you want and they make your sandwich for you! There is also a huge selection of chips ( all brands, drinks and desserts! Just wanted to leave some love, this place doesn't deserve such a low rating! This was the one time I didn't check the Yelp reviews first and I was glad I didn't, had a great lunch here. The pesto mac salad the chunks of green pepper with such a refreshing take on your standard macaroni salad. The fried chicken cutlet wraps are bomb, tender chicken with fresh ingredients. I love the egg salad wrap with bacon lettuce and tomato, it feels healthy haha! Putting salad next to anything makes it healthy right? Service is super friendly, there's plenty of seating inside. I'm not surprised to see such a low average for this deli's reviews. I've been here probably 15-20x since moving to Roslyn, mostly because its conveniently in town and the only deli option nearby. Today I went because I was a little bit hungry and wanted a turkey sandwich. It was a basic sandwich with lettuce on a roll. The roll was stale, which they often are, and the sandwich was $14. This was a sandwich worth $4. I almost bought a cookie too, but when she told me it was $3.49 plus tax for this 50 cent cookie, I couldn't bring myself to do it. If this were an excellent deli, there would be reason to pay these prices. For a dirty, disorganized deli with subpar food, its just nuts and taking advantage of the people who live here. Their food is okay but overpriced. Be very careful from being overcharged as it seems to be the case today. A $6.99 egg salad sandwich with added tomato on a wrap will set you back to close $11 after tax paid in cash. This the the best deli I've found in this area. With açaí bowls and smoothies , pizza, and normal deli things all inside, your options are huge!!! The service is incredible!
