Upon walking in, I saw some spices displayed on the wall and took one for my meal because I thought that's what they were for. I went to the counter to order my food and the lady asked if I wanted to pay for the bottle I had. i was confused for a second and then realized the bottle was not for sale! LOL! Don't make this mistake folks... I ordered the Spicy Korean Beef Noodles. It is Lo mein noodles tossed with sweet and spicy Korean-style Gochujang BBQ sauce, marinated steak, red cabbage, spinach, spinach, topped with cucumber, green onions and cilantro. It tasted so sweet and the FREE spices that i found made the entire meal so tasty. I only wish the portion size was a little bigger, but other than that it was a great meal. read more

Super disappointed. This place is STINGY on the sauce. I ordered the penne Rosa and the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese. Both were super dry. I also ordered garlic bread and the bread wasn't cooked which was really weird. Who wants cold bread? I would definitely not waste my money at this place again and I don't know how anybody could be happy with the condition of the food here. I just had their spicy chipotle adobo dish and I thought that it was delicious. The sauce was creamy and had a nice kick to it. On the dish there was a sprig of cilantro, some sour cream, cooked red onions, mushrooms, and a tiny slice of lime. I would have liked there to be a larger slice of lime and maybe something else added to the dish to give it a brightness. Possibly, if they had more cilantro on there, that would have added a lighter dimension to the otherwise heavy cream-based dish. Their spicy korean beef noodles had a strong teriyaki flavor. I would have liked the noodles to be more firm, but since they were ramen noodles, people probably expect the noodles to be as soft as they were. There was some uncooked spinach in the dish along with a couple springs of cilantro. I had one of their thai sweet chili chilled noodle salads, which was one of their featured dishes a while back, but I wasn't a fan, even in the middle of the summer. I was very impressed by Noodles & Company--from their large selection of gluten-free options and alternatives to their array of different sauces. They offer gluten-free noodles with any dish (only a $1 extra) including Mac and cheese! Or you can opt to choose zoodles instead (again, with only a $1 fee). I love that we were able to customize each dish to our specific palates. I ordered the pesto zoodles with chicken and it was delicious! You could tell they used quality and fresh ingredients. The pesto was rich and the chicken was perfectly flaky. They even put freshly grated parmesan cheese on top. If you're a pesto fan, I'd definitely recommend trying this dish. My date got the Mac and cheese. The sauce wasn't thick, instead it was a lighter, cheesy version. It's not your typical heavy, chunky-cheese dish, but a little more sophisticated with a softer sauce that glides over the noodles. Noodles is Noodles. They're not the best place in the world but they are consistent and I like them. For me it's hard to not like noodles in any form. What I will say they excel at is rice krispy treats. They're amazing. And huge! I usually get the steak stroganoff when I come here, sometimes mac and cheese. Rarely anything else. It's consistently decent every time and they don't take a long time to make your food. Plus they have an app so you can check in and earn rewards and stuff. This is always a bonus! read more

A new-ish addition to Tempe Marketplace! I'm a huge fan of pasta / noodles so Noodles and Company seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately, after eating I thought it was just okay. I went in with my boyfriend & we each got the Japanese Pan Noodles bowl, mine was with grilled chicken & his was with marinated steak. The regular size comes with quite a bit of food, I was only about to eat about three-fourths of mine. The sauce that the noodles were sautéed in was quite a bit different than I've had at other places. I think it would have tasted really good, however there was so much pepper on the chicken that it took away from any flavor that the noodles had. My boyfriend ate his food first, then tried some of mine and noted that it was almost like we got completely different items even though we had ordered the same thing. I hadn't tried any of his, but he said that the marinated steak wasn't at all peppery like the chicken and went really well with the noodles. He definitely liked his version better. When they were bringing food out to patrons I saw various appetizers which looked good. The menu was very surprising as they offer the Asian noodles but also Mac & Cheese? I'd say that if you're in the area then give this place a try. I wouldn't recommend driving out of your way to eat here, however. read more

We had a positive experience at the Tempe Noodles & Company. Came in on a Saturday evening and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't overcrowded (busy, but not overcrowded). Our orders were prepared as requested and came out in relatively quick fashion. We were dining in but our meals came in to-go dishware because they didn't have any clean dishes, the server told us. No big deal. We enjoyed our meals and as we bussed our table we saw why they didn't have any clean dishes. They were all sitting in the bin by the door waiting to be picked up. I'm glad I didn't see this while dining because it really was quite the displeasing sight. No one wants to see everyone else's dirty dishes piled up. Very disappointed. Ordered a regular size of the penne pasta and regular size of the pesto cavatappi to go. Both came out with very small portions. I order this size every time and have never received this small of an order. Also was charged extra for substituting mushrooms for the spinach and tomatoes which have never been charged before. AND they forgot the mushrooms in the pesto pasta, which they CHARGED FOR ; and only a total of 4 mushrooms in the penne Rosa!!. The current average for this place is 3.5 stars. I think that is reasonable. I have only been here once, and there is nothing on the menu that is necessarily drawing me here, but I would come back. The family consensus was that it was "OK," which is 3 stars on the Yelp-o-meter. I had the Korean Beef noodle bowl, and it was good. There was a nice amount of spice, the beef was tender and the noodles were cooked well. I like cilantro, and that flavor was definitely prevalent in this dish. I can't speak to the Korean authenticity of the dish, but it had a nice flavor and the crunchy veggies paired well with the spicy sauce and noodles. The counter service people were friendly and the food was served quickly, despite the place being pretty much at capacity. If everyone in the family wants some kind of noodles for dinner, but nobody can agree on exactly what kind, head over here and let everyone choose their own style. This is a great location. It's in the Tempe Marketplace but you can park pretty close as it's right near the entrance.
