I've been to Noodles Party a handful of times and drive about an hour from Aurora each time. It's one of the few Thai places around Chicago that really reminds me of eating back in Thailand. Boat noodles are probably my favorite noodle soup overall and something I grew up eating, so that's usually what I'm looking for. I also like that they rotate their noodle soup menu weekly, so there's always something different to try. Last time I had the dry suki and it was great, especially with the homemade sauce that comes with it. Their papaya salad is really good too. Everything I've tried here has been worth the drive, which is why I keep coming back. read more

The food here was authentic and absolutely delicious! We got the crispy wonton, Thai basil pork over rice, tomyum soup,and grilled pork jowl rice. For dessert we got the Thai coconut milk custard and shaved ice. I especially enjoyed the tomyum broth for the hint of sweet coconut cream. The basil pork over rice is quite spicy and they don't do spice levels, but still yummy. I wanted to try the khao soi chicken but they sold out. The Thai coconut milk custard dessert was another favorite - it was warm and not too sweet. The shaved ice wasn't my cup of tea - I thought the pink sauce had a noticeable artificial taste and the toppings under the ice were way too sweet for me (who prefers the mild sweetness common in East Asian desserts). Overall the food was amazing and I would definitely come back. I also got a longan juice and felt it was slightly too sweet for my taste. The waiters were also really down to earth. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt cozy but lively. I highly recommend trying this spot out for some authentic Thai street food. read more

Right when you walk in, the delicious smell hits you! The decor and vibes of the place really makes you feel like you're at a street food stall. We didn't know that their menu rotates every week so it was a surprise to us that their menu was so simple and small. Prices are super cheap! Even cheaper if you dine-in than takeout. Food comes out pretty quickly. Everything tasted really good! Great depth of flavor and seasoning. The Thai basil was a bit too spicy for me but other than that there's no complaints. One word: WOW So freaking good and my brother in law who is Thai has the Thai seal approval and said this place is legit legit. He loved it so much he went 2 days in a row and he lives in south loop. It's super fun how the menu changes weekly. Chicken Rice - Reminds me of Hainanese chicken rice. The sauce here is so delicious. They need to jar up the sauce & sell it Kao Soi - I loved the noodles and the curry sauce it was drenched in. Chicken was decently sized but it was just a drumstick Papaya Salad - We got mild and that was a mistake because we thought it was mid Thai but it was mild mild. We'll get spicy next time Thai Iced Tea + Chrysanthemum - Both drinks were amazing! Coconut Thai Milk Custard - My daughter loved this Brown Sugar - Kind of reminded me of a Vietnamese dish. I was seeing a lot of advertisements for this place on Instagram. I saw this noodle dish where you crumble fried wontons on top and I wanted to try it so bad. Today, my husband and I decided to dine in. It really felt like we were in Thailand because the vibe is supposed to give you that feel like you are in Thailand eating authentic street dishes. Their menu changes and this place is tiny and it can feel pretty cramped in here so please be prepared for that. You won't really have personal space because the tables are really close to each other. We decided to order the pork with rice and jaew sauce, and two chrysanthemum iced drinks. The food was delicious and you could really taste the authenticity but it wasn't piping hot at all and for $15.00 a plate, the portions were extremely small! We ordered two drinks and two plates of the same dish and the waitress wasn't really being attentive and brought out one plate so my husband gave me the plate while he flagged down the waitress and I decided to wait till my husband got his plate to eat. They also didn't give a lid with the drinks and asked till we paid for the food if we wanted the lids. I thought that was a bit stupid. Just give the drinks with the lids on and make it easier. I'm not sure if I'll be back because the entree I was looking forward to eating was only a weekly special because they change their menu weekly. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was filled with locals and Thai customers, which is always a great sign. The food really felt like authentic Thai street food, I enjoyed everything that we ordered. Khao soi chicken: A rich coconut curry noodle soup with a chicken drumstick. Super flavorful. Chicken rice combo: Half regular poached chicken and half fried chicken. The fried chicken and the sauces that it came with was very good. Brown sugar dessert: A warm tapioca-based dessert cooked in brown sugar and topped with sweet and slightly savory coconut milk. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth like me. read more

The hours here are a bit odd to open only on Wed, Thu, but going forward they added Fri and Sat too! The menu often changes, so keep an open mind as to what they may be serving that day. I got a bouncy pork noodle, which sorta is like wonton noodles except it's just pork balls. The vibe immediately takes me SE Asia. The blue Pepsi table cloths and metal stools. Okay, I think a review is warranted. I rarely post, but feel compelled to because of how great this spot is. Note that the menu and cooks changed at some point, so the older Yelp reviews aren't applicable. It's exclusively Thai food now. I've only eaten in (three times in recent months), so can't comment on the to-go or delivery process. This place is not for everyone. Hours are limited - currently open for lunch and dinner on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. And the menu is short and frequently changes. Don't show up thinking you're going to get pad thai. If you have food restrictions or are particular, this place probably isn't for you. That all said, I think this restaurant is a gem, especially if you go in with an open mind and an eager belly. It's unlike any spot I've been to in Chicago and does feel like you've been dropped into Bangkok (except for this week when the frigid air blew in each time someone opened the front door!). I've loved the noodle soup with pork and wontons, the papaya salad, and the sun-dried beef. The coconut dessert is also memorable. Service is quick and very friendly - this isn't a place to linger if folks are waiting for tables. Used to love this place, but it started to go downhill. The restaurant has started making ordering mistakes for to-go. Generally, if you don't specify dried, the restaurant usually assumes you want soup. However, the restaurant just assumed I want my orders dry. I've been coming here for years, I was there when they first opened, so I'm a little surprised I haven't reviewed them yet. But after years of going here, today I called to place an order. The individual began to ask me for my credit card information over the phone, which was weird because they've never done that before. Either way, I told him Id pay when I get there at which point I was told they would not cook the food until I pay. Not sure if this is a new thing but I will not be giving them my business anymore. There are some serious issues with this place. I tried to place an order through Uber eats and was notified that they were not accepting orders until 4 pm, I tried to place an order at 5pm and was notified that they still were not taking orders. I decided it was time to place an order on their business website. I was able to place an order and was told the food would be ready for pickup in 25. I went to pick the order up only to find out they were closed. I went home and called and nobody answered as soon as I hung up the phone I got an email claiming my order was ready. I decided to go back to the restaurant and now the lights were on but the door was locked and it appeared they were out of business, boxes all over the dining area, no guests, locked doors etc. I noticed a sign on the interior door labeled "ring doorbell". I rang the bell and a man appeared with my food. I finally brought the food home and I have to say it was the nastiest food Ive ever had in my life. My dogs food smells and looks better than this slop. Stay far away from this place. If I could give it a zero star rating I would. read more

My favorite late night go-to for delivery or pick up. If it's late night and especially on a weekend and looking for food, this is the place when I'm sick of just having late night pizza or drive thru. Some of the best pho I've ever had! I always get their beef pho, basil fried rice with chicken and lumpia!!! I have yet to find many places in the area that have lumpia. They are always consistent and pick up is quick. Hidden gem. My god they fried pineapple rice is just delicious for those 12 pm midnight cravings. Their rice soup with chicken also so freaking yummy. I don't even remember how much I did delivery from them through uber eats, you should try them, super tasty and not that expensive. Noodles party, yeah! I was disappointed walking into a dismal restaurant, though it was a Sunday afternoon, I had hoped it would be a party to celebrate noodles! Always? They offer many varieties of Asian noodles, so indeed it is a party of noodles. I think they've got, Filipino, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai and Japanese (Unless the Japanese part is only sushi). Their food is tame; I suggest requesting them to make your order spicy while itâs prepared. Make sure you ask how they do it. Some places just throw on some hot sauce or paste after the meal is prepared which makes the meal inedible. It should be added from the get go to ensure a balanced flavor. Countless times have I been to Chinese restaurants that threw on hot sauce after cooking and it was garbage. I sampled a few appetizers, nothing stood out. Although I took a few crab Rangoon to go and later that night offered it to a few people who thought they were good, I thought they were just OK. The Satay pork was yummy, but I wouldâve preferred it cooked well done or medium well. Pricing is reasonable; check out the on-line menu with a plethora of spelling errors. The restaurantâs location is on the less busy side of Lawrence west of Pulaski, so you can usually find street parking. The dining area is about five tables, they can seat maybe twenty plus. They have a flat screen TV with horrible reception for wait staff. Everything flows well, the food presentation, the decor of the dining area, the cleanliness of the fish tank, photos, good service and art. I have a problem with the bathroom, I do not want to see critter control traps here, that is tacky. Put those out during closed times, the bathroom is just plain white. As if they ran out of color when they got to decorating the bathroom. I liked the place, I'll definitely come back to try them again. read more

Terrible. Portion sizes are tiny which I guess is a plus once you taste the food. The food is BLAND!!!! I ordered the tiger shrimp which sounded amazing and flavorful -- turns out, not so much so. It was watery and had absolutely no flavor, I had to add a couple of teaspoons of hot sauce just to make it taste like something other than cardboard. The spring rolls are the worst ones I've ever had and I eat a ton of Thai food. They were literally the equivalent to eating paper with carrots on top. You have to absolutely soak them in the sauce for any hope of flavor. The veggie pot-stickers were the only items we purchased that tasted like anything and the taste basically came from them being fried. The boyfriend's Indonesian noodles came with only four shrimp and a crap-ton of flavorless noodles. The shrimp, by the way, were small -- not the awesome butterfly style shrimp. This was seriously the most disappointing waste of $30 I have ever spent. I really wish I would've just bought a bunch of veggie buffalo wings from the grocery store. read more

Uber Eats is the godsend for parents who want to eat out, but can't quite bring themselves to suffer the torture of trying to herd children at the same time. I discovered this one in my search for lumpia and I was so excited! The lumpia and pancit I had were delicious. My Mongolian stir fry was soup, I mean I poured out a cup of "sauce" (water) and was left with just plane broccoli and beef. The edamame was not even close to done. Please, please patronize this place -- it is exactly the type of establishment we need in the Mayfair/North Mayfair area. The menu here is larger than most noodle houses with a little bit of almost every Asian cuisine. On my two visits I tried the standard Vietnamese grilled beef with noodles and a very interesting Malaysian dish called charred noodles with BBQ pork. Both were delicious. Streamed chicken pot stickers were also very good as was the tom yum. I look forward to checking out the many other dishes on their menu. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the service (basically the owner and his wifer) are very nice and very helpful and the prices are extremely modest. Decor is fairly plain but the fancy carp swimming in the fish tank liven it up a bit. You should have no trouble with street parking and this stretch of Lawrence is unmetered. read more

I t was good not fantastic. Not bad. Coulda uses a little more tofu. Small portion. I was still hungry so when i finished he came with the check asking if I wanted anything else. What is it about Thai restaurants and awful delivery times? As i'm writing this, and although I only live 1.3 miles away according to Google, it has been one and one-half hour since I phoned my order and we are still waiting. Okay, it is now 7:15 PM and food that was ordered at 5:30 is still no show! We have a daughter whose bedtime is 8-8:30. You'd think giving a restaurant nearby an hour leeway would be plenty. So disappointingly (at least for our 6 yr old as she was looking forward to it), we cancelled our order and my wife grabbed some sandwiches and rice from Tony's Market on her way home from work. Granted, today is Valentine's...and it is a Friday. I understand a place can be busy. So set the correct expectation. Don't tell me 35-45 min delivery, and then claim the driver "left already" when we call an hour and 15 minutes later. Now, as for the quality of food...it's decent. My draw is their price and extra items when you order a certain amount. But like Manee Thai on Pulaski...their delivery times are haphazard at best and atrociously long at worst (close to two hours) for relatively close distances. Regardless, this is our last order for delivery from here. I respect restaurants that honestly set the correct expectation for long delivery times when they're busy. We ordered delivery from here last night. The nice man on the phone told me eventually you will be able to order online, for now you can browse the menu on their site. Be sure to look online before ordering because there are promotional coupons and items. Our mini egg rolls were free because our order was over $15. The food was really good. I liked the Pho BO(beef), the mini egg rolls and the spicy pad Thai with tofu.We also ordered some Maki and cold Spring rolls and two cans of pop. Total price WITH delivery was only $21! Portions sizes are good, we even had leftovers for lunch today. Delivery was super fast, he told us around 40 mins, we were eating our food 30 mins after we placed the order.
