I can't believe I haven't written a review for Noodlepig yet because I've been here a handful of times and always have a great experience. I've had three different ramens and tried bites of many others (my friends' food, haha) and have really enjoyed them all! My favorite is the Kare curry. The flavor is rich, well-balanced, and just dang good! I always forget to ask for no green onions as I think they put too much in, but that's on me. I usually order my ramen with tofu but today I decided to try the fried chicken and I'll never go back. Perfectly fried, delicious breading. And the eggs, oh my goodness, you *must* add the eggs! They're like the most tasty thing ever. Umami and the perfect softness. They also have a big boba and drink menu (for adults too). Love this place!

First time here was very good food, the broth was super rich and packed with flavor that really made the dish. I wish the protein wasn't an add-on, however it was a good amount of food for the price. Would definitely come back they have a nice drink and desert selection as well.

I went with a bunch of friends to celebrate AAPI heritage month before we went to the Lantern Festival. I was familiar with NoodlePig because the owner has helped to teach students about entrepreneurship, the restaurant industry, and Asian food. I ended up going on a Wednesday night at around 7:30 which was perfect. There were few people in line and ample seating both in and outdoors. The menu is very clear and easy to read and understand for newcomers and seasoned eaters as well. I will say, some of the items were decently pricey, specifically the ramens. I got 1 ramen and 1 non-alcoholic boba which came out to over $30 with tip. The amount of ramen that you get is decent for the price but the meat was lacking and I wouldn't necessarily pay for it again since protein is an add-on but the ramen flavor was solid. The restaurant is definitely more of a casual restaurant despite the pricing as you order at a counter and there are no servers. Dishes are discarded at a dish bin which was well labeled and conveniently placed in the middle of the restaurant. The staff did work very quickly for the size of the group that we had so that was a great plus! Overall, the restaurant and owner do a good job of highlighting a cuisine that may be new for some and satisfying for those already familiar.

Darn tasty!!! Had the signature Japanese bowl with pork and pork belly. So dang tasty!! Added cabbage and smoked Bol choy. Nom noms!! Service was great. Very helpful. Ambience works!! Boba tea is also delish!!! Great job and great name, NoodlePig!

Would like to see bigger portions compared to other places and value for homemade ramen noodles. Flavor is there. Addition items are an up charge. Adds up quickly. Great staff. Quick service and warm Sake hit the spot.

The Zessan is WOWSA! So much flavor packed into a creamy broth with ramen noods. We also tried the Chicken Sando XL with a side of their signature fries and butter noods. The butter noods were pretty fantastic, think Japanese Alfredo with lemongrass hints! The chicken Sando was good, but I felt the amount of meat or size of the sandwich was not commensurate with a steep $13 price tag. I didn't taste the meat as much as I tasted bun -and I couldn't taste the sauce at all. The star was those fries! Wowsa! I'm going to see them in my dreams! The employees were great, the atmosphere was clean and bright, and I loved the emphasis on eco responsibility. Lastly, check the prices of beverages before you order. Unless we were overcharged, a fountain pop is $4.50-5ish. It was a regular-sized cup of Diet Coke, nothing fancy or jumbo. I probably would've passed had I known. I've heard they have the best fried chicken in GR... we will be back to try the Karaage! And to get more fries!

I had heard from people I know that this spot had pretty good ramen, but that it was "expensive," which is why I put off trying it for quite some time. I ordered takeout from here since I was craving ramen, and so far in Grand Rapids, I have only tried Ginza's ramen, which I like. The interior is nice and clean; there was more seating than I expected. It's a fast casual spot, so you order and pick up your food at a counter. The service was pretty quick as I probably waited less than 10 minutes total. However, I understand now why people told me it's expensive -- ramen bowls range from $13-15, but this does NOT include any protein or egg, it only includes noodles, broth, and a few veggies. One whole soy marinated egg is $4 and chashu pork (2 pieces) was $3. I think pork shoulder was $5. I think these prices are absolutely absurd, considering the ramen bowls do not include egg or protein to begin with. The egg was cooked well and the chashu was just OK; the fat was not rendered enough even though it was a small/thing piece of meat, in my opinion. The broth flavor was OK; you could get significantly better ramen (& larger portion) for the same or cheaper cost in major cities like Chicago or NYC. The flavor did not make up for the cost whatsoever. Overall, I would not rate this place as "worth it."

Always love coming here. A casual spot for delicious food. This place has some of the best customer service of any casual dining spot I've been to. everyone is so helpful and so kind. And the bowls are huge, super filling.

Came upon this by accident but love ramen and have good experience with build-your-own. Got two different ramens. I got level 3 spice and it was not that spicy at all, if you are a spice person. The pork was a bit too fatty for hubby. The employee was helpful and asked if we had allergies. We also got the French fries and they were really good. Liked the spices on them but didn't like umami mayo. It was just a bit much for me. Clean place, fine restrooms, would come back.

3.5/5 Noodlepig boasts a diverse menu for pho/ramen that Grand Rapids has been missing. The casual dining spot has plenty of drink opens, from alcohol to boba. I appreciate that it's a trendy local spot, and the owner is well versed in the world of noodle soups. The portions were huge for the price, I would say as a single non drinker to expect to pay $20-$25 per visit. I loved the Tonkotsu broth and the pork belly was cooked perfect. The shop was a little messy at the time of our visit, but the service and food was prompt. I would 100% visit again, maybe just as takeout next time!

Drove into Grand Rapids and was craving ramen, so we decided to stop here. Overall it was a great experience! When you walk in, immediately they have menus for you to look at. It is a self service type of place, order at the counter and pick up yourself. I love that they have all the to go containers and utensils out and ready for you to use. Staff were walking around making sure everything was good and cleaning tables. There aren't a ton of tables, so I assume it can be pretty packed in there! The ramen itself was tasty. Our only complaint was that the miso broth was saltier than others we've had, but not so salty that we couldn't eat it. We especially love the noodles here! We will definitely go back next time we're in Grand Rapids!

We stopped for lunch slightly after the lunch rush and still found a crowded restaurant. We were seated quickly and despite being pretty busy, our server was great and the kitchen was as well because our wait for food once ordered was minimal. We ordered Gyoza, Bao, Spicy tuna rolls and Big Shrimp Tempura rolls. 1. Gyoza-fantastic. Pan fried just enough to bring out the flavor of the ingredients and wrapper. Most places overcook gyoza and while still decent, are not nearly as good as these were. 2. Bao. Once I tried these out of town I was hooked. Have-not seen them one any menu until I came here. We ordered pork and it was perfect. 3. Spicy Tuna Rolls-slight disappointment. The tuna is ground up and mixed with the spices to make it spicy. I would not order this again. After talking to your server, she said I could oder traditional tuna rolls and have the spices applied externally rather than mixed up in a ground up fashion. Perhaps I will order this way next time but there is so many other dishes that need to be tried. 4. Big Shrimp Tempura. Wonderful. Great flavors I looked at other tables and Bento Boxes, ramen dishes and hibachi items looked really, really good and need to be explored as well. I'm predicting we will become regulars here.
