I'm honestly surprised this place isn't busier. The food is easily on par with, if not better than, many Chinese restaurants serving similar dishes. We started with the onion pancake and spicy pork wontons. The onion pancake was hands down the best I've had--perfectly crisp around the edges, not greasy or oily, and full of flavor. We then had the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup, Beef Shank Noodle Soup, and Dan Dan Noodles, and everything was delicious. The portions were generous, and you can really taste the freshness in every dish. The service was also excellent. The two ladies who helped us were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, which made the experience even better. I was so hungry when my Beef Brisket Noodle Soup arrived that I completely forgot to take a photo until I had already eaten most of the beef! We came here waking up after EDC Day 3. All the places we tried were packed so we were glad to have found Noodlehead. It was such a gem find. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. We got a fried rice and noodle soup. It was so delicious and what I needed to replenish. I definitely plan on coming back when I am in town and craving Chinese food( or need a soup dish). The waitress was very patient and sweet in introducing us to the restaurant. She explained that they specialize in their freshly pulled noodles, which must be made fresh every morning as they don't last well through the night. We ordered: 1. $9.95 Popcorn chicken: 1/5 Taiwanese popcorn chicken (Yan su ji) is usually made with coarse sweet potato starch/potato starch, which gives it that signature crunch and craggly texture. Texture and flavor were definitely lacking and chicken was very bland. Chili powder sprinkled on top did not supplement any flavor either. Considering this was labeled as a "Chef Recommendation" on the menu, this was pretty disappointing. I highly recommend you choose a different appetizer. 2. $13.95 Beef Brisket Noodle: 3/5 3. $13.95 Szechuan Beef Brisket Noodle (substitute with shank): 3.5/5 These were packed with noodles and lots of beef and portion sizing was very surprising considering the price point! We definitely preferred the shank substitute as it was much more tender and juicy. Noodle textures were great and cooked to perfection. We found the soup to be too salty and had too much of a soy sauce taste. I prefer these kind of soups to have a stronger spiced flavor, where you can distinctly tell the different kind of aromatics that are used. I found the medium spice level (2) to be a bit too much for me so I recommend light spice level (1) first and then add in some of their house made chili oil to add some more spice if needed and extra flavor too. Given we only really tried two items from the menu, I don't believe this review is comprehensive or a complete representation of what they have to offer here! Stopped in for a cheap dinner--at just $15 for a big bowl of beef brisket soup, this was a no-brainer! The restaurant Is located in a shopping plaza, next to the 168 Market Asian grocery store, so there is ample parking. (At this time, there is some construction on the north end of the plaza, so you have to enter from Jones or W Desert Inn streets.) There's about 7-10 tables in the restaurant, with one or two bigger, round tables for families. There's not a host stand but the staff is quick to greet you when you walk in. This is an authentic establishment, so the staff does speak mandarin if your English is still beginner level! I ordered the Szechuan beef brisket noodles (D2) with medium level spice--this was definitely spicy enough for me!!! The food came out piping hot and the noodles were perfect. The beef was also really tender and flavorful. I wish there were more bok choy in the soup, but overall this was super delicious and I would come here to order it again! I contemplated giving the place 4 stars because it was very hot in the restaurant. They had several fans and one big fan, but the AC is not very functional in the establishment. Eating hot soup on a hot Vegas day in a very warm room was not the most pleasant thing I've experienced. The staff was very pleasant and apologetic about the heat though and always made sure I had cold, ice water in my cup--so I didn't think I should only give them 4 stars for a mostly minor inconvenience when people might not read my long review to gather the "why" behind the rating. One of my favorite things about living in Las Vegas is the access to so much amazing Asian food! While I have my favorite spots, I try to get out and try a new spot as often as possible because there are so many left on my ever growing list. Today I opted for Noodlehead as it has been on my Yelp list for quite some time. As it's the 4th of July, the restaurant was pretty empty with only a couple other diners. The space inside is small but can definitely accommodate groups. The one ding against this restaurant is the lack of vegetarian options. Obviously not every restaurant is going to cater to vegetarians, but I've had success at many other places in Chinatown with having a few options to pick from. I was pretty much limited to three dishes, of which only one appealed to me, which was the Tomato & Fried Egg Noodle. Note this is not completely vegetarian as the waitress was kind to ask if I was okay with fish sauce, which I am. I'm not a fan of eggs, so I asked to have that removed and if they could add some extra vegetables in its place. The waitress was very kind and said while she couldn't guarantee, she would ask. I assume they were able to add more veggies as the dish was loaded with yummy roasted tomatoes, broccoli, baby bok choy, and a mystery ingredient that I think may be a mushroom (delicious nonetheless). The broth was very deep and rich, which surprised me as the tomato broth made me concerned it would be a little bland. I did add some chili oil to add a bit of heat as I love spice. The portions here are huge and I ended up taking half of mine to go. My fiancé ordered the spicy wontons and the Szechuan Beef Brisket Noodle, level 1 spice. He's usually sensitive to spice, but said he would get a 2 next time. I couldn't taste his dishes as they were obviously not vegetarian, however he could not stop raving the entire meal about how delicious everything was. It was almost annoying lol! The star for him was the beef noodle soup, he described the broth as being very rich with a deep flavor that is only accomplished by hours of simmering. He said the beef was extremely tender and well seasoned on its own. We've tried a lot of places in Chinatown and around the country and he declared this spot as one of his absolute favorites. For me, it was definitely good and you receive a lot of food for your money, however it wasn't in my top 5. Would I go back and recommend it to others? Absolutely! That being said the Szechuan Beef Brisket Noodle had my nose running like it was about to get jumped. I was not expecting that, it wasn't extremely spicy, but it had a good flavor to it.
