Chicken Spicy Wontons (3P)
Joshua T.

Saw this on Yelp and came to try it while in Pasadena. It's very bright inside and the servers are friendly and welcoming. I sat and ordered straight away. It did take a moment for the food to come out but it appears they make the food as ordered instead of pre-made which is nice. They even bring a little bib which I found entertaining but also nice to keep clothes clean from splashes of soup. The meal was delicious and well seasoned but I will say, I ordered the spicy version of the chicken wonton and would have liked them more spicy. That's my only complaint but it is very much personal preference and isn't a reflection of the food because again, delicious.

Szechuan restaurant in Pasadena. Got the spicy beef noodle soup with knife cut noodles. Loved the noodle texture you can see them hand pulling them in the kitchen, beef wasn't super tender and could do without the kale in the soup but broth was tasty. Garlic string beans were good, service was fast despite it being really busy during lunch time on a Sunday!

Stumbled upon this place while trying to go to a nearby cafe down the block. My husband loves noodles and this was a happy gem that we found. The staff was nice and the noodles was delicious! Wontons were perfect for this nice day. It's a small cozy place with a glass to see the kitchen! We loved everything we order and we will be back for more!

Signature Beef Noodle Soup (3P)

I had the beef noodle soup and it was pretty good. Generally, I cannot tell the difference between freshly made and regular noodles most of the time, but not here. I would describe the noodles tasting (not texture) kind of doughy, but in a good way. The broth was rich and enjoyable too. My only complaint is that they could add more meat, as it was only a few thin slices of beef. So even from just a nutrition perspective I would hesitate getting it again just because it's not nearly enough protein for a full meal in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it though, I do recommend trying if you are into noodles

Egg with Tomato Noodle (3P)

Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her office near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.

Quick service and really good broth. I got the knife cut noodles but next time I would try the thinner ones. The spicy version has a fun kick to it, and is very flavorful.

Korean beef

I've been to Noodle St before, but not this location. I usually get dan dan noodles but today I decided to try the Korean beef. They had just opened and I was seated promptly. It was nice and cool inside. The see-through glass in the back allows you to see the cooks make the noodles by hand. So when I got my dish, after the first taste, I was underwhelmed. There was a large rice to meat ratio, but the meat, which I was hoping to be tender, was strangely falling apart in my mouth. My mom overcooks meat alot and it feels like it disintegrates in your mouth as you eat it. And this felt exactly like that. It was very feeble. For the price, I was hoping for a little more quality meat. I was surprised as this restaurant is known for high quality dishes. I think I'm going to stick with the noodle dishes from now on.

Sleek, clean interior

Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this small chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

Scallion pancakes
Emily T.

As the name of this place would suggest, this restaurant has great noodles! I ordered the savory braised chicken noodle ($15.80) and scallion pancakes ($7.80). The noodles came with plenty of chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and of course, knife-cut, hand-pulled noodles. The dish had quite a kick. They went heavy on the Szechuan peppercorn, and my mouth was tingling during all of dinner! The chicken was tender, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy. But in my opinion, there were just too many onions! I felt like I had to dig through onions to find the noodles. The scallion pancakes were delicious. They came out hot and perfectly crispy. The service was also great. The staff was friendly and kept my glass of water full.

Solid place that I would absolutely go to again and try something new. The place is bright, open, clean, and a decent size inside. Service is fairly quick (have to be to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out) and friendly enough. The food (outside of mine) was very tasty and had a decent selection size. Great flavor and very fresh. Mine (seasonal veggie) was very underwhelming. The taste, compared to everything else, was mid. It needed salt or some other seasonings. I ended up adding chili to it, which helped, but not much, which made me think salt was the missing factor. Not sure how that happened because the other soup, and my friends braised chicken noodles, tasted absolutely perfect. If anything, the other dishes were super bold with their flavors. I love that you can pick different handmade noodles. They were so good. A little chewy and cooked well.

My friends and I decided to try this place out after reading the wonderful reviews & seeing the pictures of their dishes. I was also craving soup so this was the perfect option! We ordered their chicken wings, garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, & beef scallion roll. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, which I appreciated since I was starving. The soup was packed with so much flavor & had a generous amount of knife cut noodles. The beef rolls had a nice light flavor to it & wasn't dry at all. The garlic string beans were PACKED with garlic, which was delicious. The chicken wings were a bit dry but nonetheless still pretty good. My friends really liked their scallion pancakes & devoured them all. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. It definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food.

Signature Beef Noodle Soup (3P) Chicken Spicy Wontons (3P) Crispy Tofu (3P) Beef Roll Pancake (3P)

Today I paid a visit to this restaurant after discovering it as an UberEats Driver and it made me want to come back for more. It has a quiet environment and authentic atmosphere. The signature beef noodle soup had a clear broth that was pure and soothing as if I was relaxing in a Japanese garden. The crispy tofu had a light breading that made it crispy outside but super soft inside. It melted in my mouth with every bite. Just like Tatsu Ramen, this place gave me nostalgia over a memorable dining experience back in Las Vegas. The atmosphere, kitchen design, and their method for preparing different noodle cuts reminded of Shang Artisan Noodle. I am glad to have found another place that brought back good memories in my life.

First time here and we really liked it! Noodles are handmade and the soup broth was outstanding! Actually, the broth is the first thing I taste. Looking forward to coming back and trying the spicy beef noodle soup. The potato string shrimp was a great side dish. Love that you can see the chefs in the back, creating the noodles. Customer Service was excellent. Located in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, obviously had to park in a parking structure, this is the only bummer of eating in Pasadena, street parking is extremely limited. We will definitely be back!

I totally forgot about parking and the one way streets so I had to do a lap just to find a parking structure that was right across the street from the restaurant. When I arrived I was not expecting the restaurant to look as nice and clean as it did. I thought it was going to be a small hole-in-the-wall type of joint but it's actually a very nice restaurant. There was a lot of space and a lot of seating. Once we decided on on what we wanted we decided to do family style and ordered, shrimp and pork shumai, pork dumplings, spicy pork wontons and kung pao shrimp. I decided to go with the passion fruit tea with half sweetener but I probably should have went with 75%. It was still pretty good but could have been better. I loved the pork dumplings and the kung pao shrimp the best. The service was quick, fast and effective. Anytime we needed something, they were right there to provide, sauces, water and silverware when needed. They also start you out with peanuts and hot tea for the table and I thought that was cool. Overall, it was pretty good! I still have my favorite dumpling spots and I've definitely had better sumai but it wasn't bad. I would go back again but I would also check to see if there was something better if ever in the area. OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

Bowls of steamed rice cost $2.50, and we each got one. Portions are generously large and worth the cost; we took leftovers home. The tea offered to us tasted good. The slippery shrimp had a nice crisp with a pleasant blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors. There's a slight spice from the red chili that felt mild on my tongue. This was our first time trying out the dish, and we liked it the most. The orange chicken tasted solid, and it had a slightly crispy texture. For some reason, the rice had an aftertaste I wasn't familiar with, but it was still fresh. There was a fortune cookie at the end of our meal. I'd come back for the slippery shrimp and order something other than the orange chicken. The restaurant opened at 11:30 am, and we were one of the first customers to dine in. The ambience was quiet and relaxed, but they got busier as many more people arrived. Service was good as the staff packed our leftovers in containers for us. They seem to enjoy working here as much as I enjoy mirin' the atmosphere and the drinks they make. Also, they have a cool machine at the bar that dries and wipes wine glasses. I look at it every time. You can see it in my video. We haven't even gotten to the food yet. Think about the food at Panda Express. Now throw that idea away because the food at Panda Inn is in another dimension. You thought crab rangoons were going to be your last meal? You'll find an array of meat dishes, veggie dishes, rice, noodles, cocktails, beer, and sushi too. Again, something for everyone. I haven't tried the sushi yet since it's a Chinese-inspired restaurant, but I am reminded that I must trust the Panda. There's something special about their fortune cookies, and I'll leave it to you to find out! Doubters WILL be converted once they try it. The Glendale location is just as good. You have no excuse anymore. So shut up and come here already so you can tell haters all about it next time they go "eww Panda is sooo Americanized" (yes and I like it)

Overall we enjoyed our meal and experience and would totally come back to try other dishes…read more Food - everything was fresh tasting. Lobster: we enjoyed the Colette special sauce, it was aromatic with the basil, good level of spice, and lobster meat was cooked perfect. Salt and pepper calamari: great crunch, wish it had a little more salt & pepper & garlic seasoning most pieces weren't coated, but the calamari texture had the perfect chew. Crispy vermicelli with beef: loved the crispy noodles and soft beef stir fry textures together, definitely ask for chili oil with this dish, it needs that extra umph of flavor for the noodles. Salted egg yolk pumpkin: I normally love this dish, only wished the outside was crispier, got soggy fast and with how thick these are cut you want the crispy exterior, but flavor was good. Only thing that made me feel a bit "eh" was the chipped plateware they have and continue to use. Service - wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and had nice customer service. They even helped recommend dishes and also share opinions on what we shouldn't order which I loved. Parking - free parking lot! There are a few spaces right in front of the restaurant. But around the side there's more parking as well.
