Stumbled upon this place while trying to go to a nearby cafe down the block. My husband loves noodles and this was a happy gem that we found. The staff was nice and the noodles was delicious! Wontons were perfect for this nice day. It's a small cozy place with a glass to see the kitchen! We loved everything we order and we will be back for more!

Signature Beef Noodle Soup (3P)
Vahe A.

I had the beef noodle soup and it was pretty good. Generally, I cannot tell the difference between freshly made and regular noodles most of the time, but not here. I would describe the noodles tasting (not texture) kind of doughy, but in a good way. The broth was rich and enjoyable too. My only complaint is that they could add more meat, as it was only a few thin slices of beef. So even from just a nutrition perspective I would hesitate getting it again just because it's not nearly enough protein for a full meal in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed it though, I do recommend trying if you are into noodles

Egg with Tomato Noodle (3P)

Was here for lunch over 2 weeks ago to meet my friend that works in the area. We walked from her office near Paseo to old town and we ended up here. There's a menu outside of the place so you can browse so you can check it out before going in. Since this was a slow day (most offices were closed day before a holiday) we were seated right away. My friend ordered beef with rice and I of course wanted a noodle dish. The server suggested some noodle dishes but I felt too hot to go for soup so I ordered the eggs and tomatoes over knife cut noodles. So eggs were overwhelming TBH and I wished I ordered what the server suggested but I do love the noodles. You can tell they're freshly made. Will definitely return to try the popular dishes. The tables are close to each other so you can see what the next table ordered. The beef bone soup looks really good. Dining area is clean, casual and good space for friends and families. I see a lot of young kids with parents. I If you're into fresh noodles definitely try this place out.

Quick service and really good broth. I got the knife cut noodles but next time I would try the thinner ones. The spicy version has a fun kick to it, and is very flavorful.

Korean beef

I've been to Noodle St before, but not this location. I usually get dan dan noodles but today I decided to try the Korean beef. They had just opened and I was seated promptly. It was nice and cool inside. The see-through glass in the back allows you to see the cooks make the noodles by hand. So when I got my dish, after the first taste, I was underwhelmed. There was a large rice to meat ratio, but the meat, which I was hoping to be tender, was strangely falling apart in my mouth. My mom overcooks meat alot and it feels like it disintegrates in your mouth as you eat it. And this felt exactly like that. It was very feeble. For the price, I was hoping for a little more quality meat. I was surprised as this restaurant is known for high quality dishes. I think I'm going to stick with the noodle dishes from now on.

Love it here! It's pretty nice inside and service is fairly quick. I got the shrimp stir fried flat noodles which were so delicious! Their beef roll pancakes are amazing too. I'd definitely recommend going here!

Popped into Noodle St. in Old Town Pasadena for an early lunch, and was thrilled to discover this small chain offering Asian fusion creations. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

Scallion pancakes
Emily T.

As the name of this place would suggest, this restaurant has great noodles! I ordered the savory braised chicken noodle ($15.80) and scallion pancakes ($7.80). The noodles came with plenty of chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and of course, knife-cut, hand-pulled noodles. The dish had quite a kick. They went heavy on the Szechuan peppercorn, and my mouth was tingling during all of dinner! The chicken was tender, and the noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy. But in my opinion, there were just too many onions! I felt like I had to dig through onions to find the noodles. The scallion pancakes were delicious. They came out hot and perfectly crispy. The service was also great. The staff was friendly and kept my glass of water full.

Solid place that I would absolutely go to again and try something new. The place is bright, open, clean, and a decent size inside. Service is fairly quick (have to be to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out) and friendly enough. The food (outside of mine) was very tasty and had a decent selection size. Great flavor and very fresh. Mine (seasonal veggie) was very underwhelming. The taste, compared to everything else, was mid. It needed salt or some other seasonings. I ended up adding chili to it, which helped, but not much, which made me think salt was the missing factor. Not sure how that happened because the other soup, and my friends braised chicken noodles, tasted absolutely perfect. If anything, the other dishes were super bold with their flavors. I love that you can pick different handmade noodles. They were so good. A little chewy and cooked well.

My friends and I decided to try this place out after reading the wonderful reviews & seeing the pictures of their dishes. I was also craving soup so this was the perfect option! We ordered their chicken wings, garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, & beef scallion roll. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering, which I appreciated since I was starving. The soup was packed with so much flavor & had a generous amount of knife cut noodles. The beef rolls had a nice light flavor to it & wasn't dry at all. The garlic string beans were PACKED with garlic, which was delicious. The chicken wings were a bit dry but nonetheless still pretty good. My friends really liked their scallion pancakes & devoured them all. Overall, I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again. It definitely satisfied my cravings for Chinese food.

Rosa R.

First time here and we really liked it! Noodles are handmade and the soup broth was outstanding! Actually, the broth is the first thing I taste. Looking forward to coming back and trying the spicy beef noodle soup. The potato string shrimp was a great side dish. Love that you can see the chefs in the back, creating the noodles. Customer Service was excellent. Located in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard, obviously had to park in a parking structure, this is the only bummer of eating in Pasadena, street parking is extremely limited. We will definitely be back!

On July 23, My family decided to eat here for dinner. As we entered we noticed how super clean it was & so were their restrooms. The restaurant is very organized & attention to details. House special: Lamb skewers, scallion pancakes, beef roiled pancakes, chicken spicy wontons, garlic string beans. I'll definitely tell all my Family & Friends to visit here!!

Triangle Noodles with the Signature Beef Noodle Soup
Jennifer N.

Great quick service. It was a chilly day so we wanted something soupy. You get options from appetizers, noodle soup, and rice dishes. There's an option to choose what type of noodle you want: round, flat, triangle, or knife cut. No matter the type, the noodles were very fresh, you can even see them making it through the large clear room in the back. I ordered the signature beef noodle with triangle noodles. The soup needed a tad bit more seasoning but it was good, especially the noodles. Temperature was perfect. Great quick place to drop by if you're shopping in Pasadena. I would probably come back and try the other items in the menu.

It was flavorful, the right balance of spices, and the portion was plentiful! We also tried the green onion pancake (not pictured) because it was so good with the accompanying sauce that we went through it so quick before I could take a picture! Crispy texture but soft and a little chewy on the inside. The gai lan (Chinese broccoli) was a good portion, nicely salted and provided a good balance to the meal. We loved the presentation and fireworks worth flavor from the pork belly bao. All of the pickled vegetables along with the sauce and the savory pork belly were a great blend. Only thing is, it falls apart easily and is very messy to eat The service is quick, food is out without too long of a wait. The staff are all very attentive and helpful, especially with recommendations. Inside the dining room, it's very nicely decorated and spacious. Definitely will return when in the area!

When I saw this pop up on a recommended search I was so excited to come here for my birthday…read moredinner. I also conveniently had the SGV passport which gave me a free noodle! A $15ish dollar value - score! I was so hyped about this place trying to talk it up to my friends and my fiancé because the items on the menu sounded like they would be tasty! But what we got was just subpar. I felt so dissappointed and really wished I choose to go some place else for my birthday dinner. Inside it looks cute, it feels like it's trying to replicate an old school Chinese restaurant back then (seen a lot of those growing up!) but instead of loud uncle and aunties screaming out their conversations, you get a moderate lull of conversations from a younger crowd. I read the reviews and I knew in my head what I wanted: Veggie Noodles (thanks SGV passport!), sesame cold noodle, hot sake, and their Woon Milk Tea. Totaling about $47 before tax and removing the free veggie noodle. New total is roughly $32 before tax and tip A bit high but I was excited to try it! I grabbed my milk tea from the fridge and made our way to our table. Our food came shortly after and it gives you the feeling of eating back home with these types of dishes. I think it was suppose to give that "home cook" meal type of vibe. The portions were small for the price we paid though. Veggie Noodle: Eh - this was okay. A little smokey but lacking something. Normally as a vegetarian a veggie noodle isn't hard to mess up in flavor but this missed the mark. I needed to put a good dollop of their chili oil to give it more dimension. Sesame Cold Noodle: A little vinegary but still mid. The little tofu bites in there were actually the only thing I liked. Those little cubes packed so much flavor, I just wished there was more of it. Again, just like the veggie noodle, it's missing something. Hot Sake: to say I was surprised that our hot sake came out in a tea pot would be an under statement! You get a whole pot for $10! This is so worth it as it was nice and hot with a strong flavor. I'm pretty light weight so to me it was a nice mellow strong flavor. It also came with the tea cups too, we got out about roughly 12 cups from that pot! Woon Milk Tea (bottled): This was so sad. In a community like the 626 you can get such good boba and milk tea any corner you turn. This was just so lack luster. Not worth my money. I appreciated how much vegetarian/vegan options it had but those options were so lack luster, missing so much in flavor, and the price? Not even worth it for how much you get. If you want traditional Chinese food I recommend doing the research and go else where. Off the top of my head I already know a few near this area! About 10 min drive! This place is designed more for those people who want to try Asian flavors but are to scared to go off and try them the more authentic versions of them. Save your dollars and go to those smaller shops and participate in the loud conversations with the uncles and aunties. Trust me - not only will you like the food better but you'll get more excitement in the room!

There was a lot of space and a lot of seating. Once we decided on on what we wanted we decided to do family style and ordered, shrimp and pork shumai, pork dumplings, spicy pork wontons and kung pao shrimp. I decided to go with the passion fruit tea with half sweetener but I probably should have went with 75%. It was still pretty good but could have been better. I loved the pork dumplings and the kung pao shrimp the best. The service was quick, fast and effective. Anytime we needed something, they were right there to provide, sauces, water and silverware when needed. They also start you out with peanuts and hot tea for the table and I thought that was cool. Bowls of steamed rice cost $2.50, and we each got one. Portions are generously large and worth the cost; we took leftovers home. The tea offered to us tasted good. The slippery shrimp had a nice crisp with a pleasant blend of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors. There's a slight spice from the red chili that felt mild on my tongue. This was our first time trying out the dish, and we liked it the most. The orange chicken tasted solid, and it had a slightly crispy texture. For some reason, the rice had an aftertaste I wasn't familiar with, but it was still fresh. There was a fortune cookie at the end of our meal. I'd come back for the slippery shrimp and order something other than the orange chicken. The restaurant opened at 11:30 am, and we were one of the first customers to dine in. I've been coming here at least once a week for the past five months, and this place continues to…read moreimpress every single time. The service is consistently great... attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Fair warning for anyone new to Sichuan cuisine, the dominant flavor is "spicy". That said, the dishes are not just about heat... they're layered, aromatic, and incredibly well-balanced. Every dish I've tried has been outstanding, both in flavor and presentation. If you're a fan of bold, authentic flavors and reliable service, this spot is definitely worth visiting. Tip - If you're new to the cuisine, I strongly recommend getting everything MILD spicy. I've been told by some of my colleagues that MILD spicy is still pretty spicy, so be warned. With that said, strongly recommend the dishes below. Lamb with Cumin 11/10 - My favorite dish here by far. Aromatic, flavorful, and the spices are just on point. Dan Dan Noodles 9/10 - Solid and consistently good. The sauce is properly seasoned and truly compliments the perfectly cooked noodles. Shredded Cabbage with Pork 9/10 - Not to be confused with twice cooked pork. This dish is so simple and bland looking, but it's packed with flavor... so good! Garlic Pork Belly 8/10 - This is a cold dish. The meat was perfectly cooked and properly coated in chili oil. Solid and consistently good. Kung Pao Chicken 8/10 - In my opinion, it's an elevated Kung Pao Chicken. Solid and consistently good.

Enter with Caution. It's gonna get spicy…read more To long to read - get the Mapo Tofu with Beef. I think it's a great dish, especially if you're new to Sichuan food. I had it on Medium spice, and I was sweating profusely. It doesn't come with rice, so be sure to order white rice on the side. The Sichuan Boiled Blackfish is delicious if you can share with a friend. Be warned --- also very spicy. The fish is so tender and I found myself sipping the addicting lava broth. It hurt so good. I would not order the Dan Dan Noodles or Diced Chicken with Spicy Chilies again. I felt like there wasn't enough chicken and the dan dan noodles had a weird musty flavor that I didn't resonate with. I prefer the Taiwanese version a little more. My last words, be careful with your spice tolerance. Leave your pride at the door and go a or two notch lower. I had stomach cramps afterwards. I would definitely go back again for the Mapo Tofu. The server found my little puddle of sweat adorable, and gave me napkins. Bless her heart.

Overall we enjoyed our meal and experience and would totally come back to try other dishes…read more Food - everything was fresh tasting. Lobster: we enjoyed the Colette special sauce, it was aromatic with the basil, good level of spice, and lobster meat was cooked perfect. Salt and pepper calamari: great crunch, wish it had a little more salt & pepper & garlic seasoning most pieces weren't coated, but the calamari texture had the perfect chew. Crispy vermicelli with beef: loved the crispy noodles and soft beef stir fry textures together, definitely ask for chili oil with this dish, it needs that extra umph of flavor for the noodles. Salted egg yolk pumpkin: I normally love this dish, only wished the outside was crispier, got soggy fast and with how thick these are cut you want the crispy exterior, but flavor was good. Only thing that made me feel a bit "eh" was the chipped plateware they have and continue to use. Service - wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and had nice customer service. They even helped recommend dishes and also share opinions on what we shouldn't order which I loved. Parking - free parking lot! There are a few spaces right in front of the restaurant. But around the side there's more parking as well.
