After all the hype on social media we decided to trek east to give this place a try. The soup dumplings had a feel good flavor. It was warm and pork was moist/tender. The crispy cheese shrimp wontons were delicious. As for the ramen, the noodles are freshly made so it was delicious but we didn't care for the whole dish itself. The slice pork was chewy and too much fat. Doesn't melt in your mouth like it should. The soup base is not flavorful enough even with the spicy seasoning you can barely taste it. I heard about noodle master from a neighbor and couldn't wait to try it. The menu and pictures looked appealing, and I convinced my family to try it last weekend, which is my favorite way to try a new place since we get to order way more dishes than I would for just my household! A quick caveat on my order, is that I took these to go, so I didn't eat them fresh to be able to determine if these are better eaten in restaurant. I think the main dish that would have suffered in my review because of it are the soup dumplings, otherwise everything else travelled exceptionally well. I ordered the spring rolls (delicious but my family prefers the Thai variety), a couple types of dumpling, and a mishmash of other entrees. I thought the dumplings tasted similar to each other and was expecting a bit more difference in flavor but the entrees I think shined much stronger in this meal. The dough on everything felt very fresh, I did like it than most other dim sum type restaurants I've been to (which this isn't necessarily claiming to be one). The veggie Bao were like a cloud wrapping some mushrooms and veggies. When paired with the spicy oil that comes with them, these were my favorite dumpling of the bunch. I thought the pan fried pork with green onion was a bit heavy on the onion, but it is in the name so probably just me imagining a different balance of flavors in it. I am a bit sensitive to dishes having too much green onion relative to others so probably just my issue with the dish. The soup dumplings weren't what I was expecting, and I've had them at places ranging from Chinatown in Houston to San Francisco, and I know the dough needs to be thick enough to not burst and spill, but I thought it was a little too thick on these, and the flavor a bit light. I enjoyed eating them but I think the other dishes I ordered were much better. On to the entrees, the veggie fried rice was a really good mild option that appeased both the kids and the less adventurous adults in our group. It was flavorful and robust, not spicy but a good mild side dish or "safe" dish for some people. The sesame chicken was the crowd pleaser, I think its a sweet and sour type sauce, battered and fried chicken, it was rich, flavorful, not heavy, and we had it on a bed of noodles which were absolutely delightful and fresh. The general tso's chicken was well made and high quality ingredients as we had in all the dishes, but I thought the Sesame chicken was more exceptional. I would definitely eat from here again, now that I've had some of the variety I can honestly say I'd order most of these again, and would replace a couple with some of their other "signature" items to try more of the menu. I don't know how I found out about this place in Pasadena but I'm really glad I did! I went here on a Friday evening with a friend and my husband. The place was bustling. Noodle Master is a pretty spacious restaurant with like 25 tables, and every table was filled. I guess everyone was craving Chinese food on a Friday night. We were seated pretty quickly by our server and our waters arrived shortly after. It did take some time for someone to come take our order, but as the restaurant was pretty slammed (with three front-of-the-house people), this was understandable. We ended up ordering combination fried noodles (lo mein), takoyaki, xiaolongbao, pan-fried dumplings, beef noodle soup, and green onion pancakes. Now that I've typed out all we ordered, I see that we ordered a lot of food for three people. Surprisingly, we finished everything because the food here is BOMB. What separates Noodle Master from other Chinese restaurants is in its name--the noodles. There is a window to the kitchen, where you can see predominantly Asian people cooking the dishes, and one man in particular rolling, kneading, and cutting dough into noodles. The noodles here are made in-house and they taste that way: slippery, chewy, thick-ish. They're beautiful noodles. The smaller dishes that we ordered were all good in their own way, but the noodles definitely stand out. I highly recommend the house special spicy beef noodle soup (it's not really that spicy) because I don't think you can find another restaurant in Houston that does beef noodle soup the way Noodle Master does it. The broth is on the clear side, the noodles are chewy, the beef is tender, and there are a lot of spices in it. It tastes authentically Chinese, not Chinese-American fusion. One does wonder why this authentically Chinese Chinese restaurant is located in Pasadena and not in an Asian neighborhood. The restaurant does good business here, though, and it attracts a diverse crowd. Although I live in League City, I know I will drive the 25-30 minutes to Noodle Master in the near future. read more

Came here on a whim for dinner. Yelp actually recommended this place and it was relatively new, so we wanted to check it out. It was conveniently really close to my place and it's in a small shopping strip in Pasadena. We came in and we were greeted immediately with pleasant and courteous staff that had us seated fairly quickly. (We could choose where we sat) We ordered rather quickly since we knew ahead of time what we planned on ordering, which was the orange chicken, combination fried noodles (their speciality is the homemade noodles), and the soup dumplings. The orange chicken was pretty good. Lightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce was very tangy and mildly sweet which I enjoyed quite a lot. The combination noodles were perfect. Cooked and made perfectly and just so flavorful with every bite! I will say that the noodles are really long, but the waiter was kind enough to give us some scissors to make it easier on us. When I say that their noodles were good, they were GOOD. Definitely need to try a noodle dish of theirs as that is what they're known for here! The best part were the soup dumplings. They were so rich and deep in flavor with the broth and the pork, it was a beautiful medley in my mouth. And it makes me quite happy knowing that their soup dumplings are so good because now I don't need to drive great lengths in order to get some. The noodles are hand pulled and have the perfect bite to them. The broth is to die for. It's full of flavor!!! All of the baos are delicious but my favorite are the soup dumplings (B1)!!!! This time we tried the B2, and they were huge! Glad we shared them! I ordered the Spicy Wonton Soup and it was perfect on a chilly day! Each wonton was filled with pork and green onion. So good! And only $8! I would say everything on the menu is completely shareable and affordable. The quality of their dishes is top tier in my opinion, especially for the area. I don't know of any other place in Pasadena that hand pulls their noodles. Everything just tastes so fresh. And the restaurant is clean! My ONLY complaint would be the timeliness of the food. Location itself is well kept and good size when we went there wasn't a lot of people present quick service. The noodles are made in house and are very fresh and delicious me and my friend got a bit of food to try and everything was great, all food picked out was fresh full and full of flavor.
