Probably the best Chinese food I've ever had. Definitely worth the money. You get like 2 meals worth of food per dish. It always comes super hot even when I door dash it. Stopped by again for a late lunch for me and my wife today (7/12/2020). Still prohibited from going inside but again had a wonderful meal prepared and brought to us in the parking lot for takeout. Best Asian food in town. Plain and simple. They have authentic Chinese from different regions of China and the Americanized versions too. So there is something for everyone. My husband and I went here for the first time and got Dan Dan noodles for take out. It was the worst Dan Dan noodles we have ever eaten. The noodles had absolutely no flavor, tasted almost like spaghetti. There was barely any pork and it was again, almost like we were eating Italian food with a hint of chili oil. Also, the Dan Dan noodles had shredded lettuce in it.... truly bizarre for this dish. Overall, it tasted like leftover scraps were pulled together from the kitchen for a quick meal. Can't speak to the other dishes but this dish is definitely a no go. I would have given this place a 1 star but the staff was really nice. read more

Best Chinese I've had by miles! And it's not even close; Shun Lee Palace has got nothing on Noodle 88, it's not even fair to compare. Upon entering this place, you're immediately engulfed by some seriously delicious aromas, well, you really get it in the parking lot, and the building/setup/everything show that the owners are all in on this one. Every dish you order is made in house and the flavors are truly outstanding; they can do traditional Chinese food favs all Gluten Free and you can't even tell the difference; it's straight up madness; coupled with some of the nicest people I've personally ever encountered at any public establishment in my lifetime and you've got yourself a true gem of a restaurant. I going to start by saying that my family is originally from Hong Kong to give you an idea of my taste buds. I visit Asia about every year so my measurement of chinese cuisine is pretty good as well. I was recommended to try noodle 88 from an Asian friend. So I was expecting an authentic experience. I when there after reading a few reviews online and got the soup dumplings (pork) and lunch fair. My wife and I were satisfied with the food. It was inexpensive with tons of good flavors. I got the spicy and crisp Chicken and wife got there Mushroom medley. I enjoyed the chilis and the amount of garlic. But was left thinking. Good but not authenticity I was seeking. TIP FOR SEEKER OF AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE: Ask for the secret IPAD menu! I got to speaking with the women behind the counter and she showed me that they have a completely separate menu for Authentic Asian home style dishes with pictures. Needless to say I am excited to return and try some of the 50 or so secret menu. I will update this review. read more

Dined last night with my family, we were up at car sense looking for a car and was pleased to find noodle 88 to be a mile down the road. Upon arrival I can see that the building is cute and decorated in lights. The inside is cute and clean - reminds you of a small mom and Pop restaurant with a homey feel. We ordered scallion pancake -yum. soup dumplings - it's okay. I've had better. Wonton soup- nice and light. Wontons are in a slimmer shell making it smooth and soft to eat. Dan dan noodles - not spicy enough for me and kinda too mild in taste. The noodles were cooked a little too much in my opinion. General tso chicken - super awesome. Best I've ever had. Nice sauce and still crispy! Veggie lo MEIN - soooo good. Would order again. Price point is average portion sizes were average as well. Overall I would deff be back if I'm in the area. read more

I've been to Noodle 88 probably 8 - 10 times already with a variety of family and friends. We've been a party of 2 to a party of 14, and every meal has been delightful. It is obvious when eating here, that the Chinese folks who run this restaurant are from Taiwan, and not from Fuzhou China like the majority of suburban Chinese restaurants and buffets. The ingredients are fresh, the cooking is sophisticated and the flavors are from the entire wide spectrum of Chinese cooking. The authenticity of of the Chinese menu (Put on an iPad so customers can see pictures) is without question. I won't get into the typical Chinese-American fare such as General's Chicken and the like...I'll mostly touch on the authentic must try's. Appetiziers: The must try appetizers include the amazing Cold Plate Appetiziers that can have everything from Shanghai style Drunken Chicken, Vegetarian Gluten Salad (this is one of the most amazing items they make), marinated lotus root, Chinese style smoked fish, Thin Beef Tendon in Chili oil, and marinated vegetable. The vegetarian Gluten has delightful 5-spice flavor and if you close your eyes, you'd swear you were having a typical Buddhist dish in any one of the temples outside Taipei. The Drunken Chicken is properly defatted, thinly sliced with a good amount of Shaoxing Huanhe wine flavor and just the right amount of salt. The lotus root is a crunch bite of with a hint of black vinegar and sugar. The Szechuan style wontons are another must try. Perfectly made and cooked dumplings in a complex chili, sesame sauce that is both spicy, salty and sweet. It's as good as any I've had. The scallion pancakes are also good, hand made, crispy without excess grease or oil. The wontons are good and the soup dumplings are acceptable, but unless you go to a place specializing in Soup Dumplings, it not going to be the same. Entrees: I've tried alot of them, here are the best ones. Crispy Whole Fish - Sliced flounder pieces fried in the "salt baked" style, served over the fillet'd fish. The presentation of this dish is just outstanding and the flavors and tastes are amazing. Dry cooked Spicy Chicken - This is the ubiquitous dish that you'll find at Han Dynasty and other Sichuan style restaurants. Noodle 88's is every bit as good as Han Dynasty. It's spicy, but still flavorful with just the right amount of peppercorn and salt. Twice cooked Pork - Sliced pork belly steamed and then stir fried with black beans, dry pressed tofu, leeks, long hot chili peppers. This is a tremendous dish with a good amount of spice. Highly recommend Fish cooked in Chili Soup "Sui Zu Yu" - This is another ubiquitous Sichuan style "hotpot". noodle 88 offers it with Beef, chicken, tofu, fish. I like the fish the best. Spicy, pungent, rich...it's crazy good. I could write a small book about everything but I'll leave it here. They offer fresh vegetables like snow pea leaves, baby bok choy, etc that you would find in Chinatown restaurants. Along with Hunan in Ardmore, Noodle 88 meets my criteria as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the suburbs. PS, I should say something about the handmade noodles here. They are very good, in the Taiwan style. They are a wider noodle, but have amazing chew because they are fresh made. I would say they are less of a Northern Chinese style (rounder and thicker), and more in line with a Taiwan style wheat noodle (flat and wider). read more

Went out in the snow tonight to try a new place and we are glad we did. We got many different appetizers scallion pancakes seafood dumplings and spring rolls with shrimp. For dinner we had the short ribs orange chicken and peony shrimp I'd call it garlic shrimp lots of garlic. It was all delicious. read more

This place is amazing! I've tried about half the things on the menu and have yet to have anything that wasn't excellent. But the beef short ribs might be my favorite. I felt the need to give my first review on a restaurant simply due to the fact that we have dined and ordered take out numerous times since its opening a month ago and will be a frequent customer of this establishment going forward. First let me say that I wasn't a big fan of the filet torched table side - just not my style. We have tried just about everything on this menu and it is delicious! You can taste the quality of the product and the seasoning is phenomenal. The people there are super friendly and aim to please - they have a take out menu but we have ordered entrees from their full menu for take out with no problems.
