My friend and I are staying at a local hotel and wanted to have a girls' night in with Chinese food! We were happy to find China Star a few minutes away, and they deliver! We ordered our food and it was delivered to our room in under a half hour - super fast! The delivery driver was very nice and sweet! I had the General Tso's Chicken and it was really good! The restaurant followed the note to not add spiciness. My friend had the Sweet & Sour Chicken and she said it was delicious! We both received very large portions - plenty of food for multiple meals! We each spent about $20 with delivery fees, taxes and tip. Super reasonably priced! I would absolutely order from this location again. Thank you! read more

I haven't found any five-star Chinese restaurants in the area yet, but this is definitely the best one I've tried so far. Their General Tso's chicken is readily their standout and signature dish. I also tried their Szechuan pork, which was decent but didn't quite stand out. Overall, a solid choice for Chinese food in the area. read more

Absolutely delicious chicken Szechuan (not too spicy as requested) . The flavors were wonderful. Plentiful real chicken. No longer rubbery chicken as it was in the past. Wonton soup was excellent although there were a few gristle pork bits in broth. Nice filling. read more

I have ordered from here a number of times and its always been consistently good Chinese food. They have great vegetarian/vegan options which is always a plus and always give you a generous amount of sauce. Great flavor and portion sizes. Highly recommend. read more

Lousy food. Thought it would be like the old China Inn. Also prices were sky high. Definitely not worth it.

Ordered chicken lo mein, shrimp egg rolls, Moo Shu Beef. Food was ready at pick up. Got home was missing chop sticks, duck sauce, hot mustard and soy sauce. It would have been proper to ask the customer if you wanted these but no instead you assume it's included in the stapled brown bag when you give them your name. They need to do a better job. The chicken lo mein was very skimpy on chicken all we saw was tiny pieces. They need to do a better job. The shrimp egg rolls are more like spring rolls in the traditional sense. Was not filling enough. Maybe order from them again maybe not there are other Chinese takeout nearby. They can definitely improve that's for sure. read more

I've been coming here a few times this past year already. There are several Chinese-American restaurants locally, but China Star stands out because the portions are quite generous and plentiful. It's located in a small plaza and the inside is more like a casual deli. If you like General Tso's chicken, this place nails it quite well. Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken area also popular options, far better than Panda Express. You can order on DoorDash, but their prices are usually cheaper on the parent site or in person. The food is also prepared pretty fast, usually only taking about 15 minutes or so. As for the lady who knows it, English isn't her first language but she's fast and she takes care of her regulars pretty well. You can eat-in, as there are a few tables to dine at, but most people just order out. Of note, they are closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. read more

Staff was very nice and helpful and food was splendid and top notch. Comes out piping out and seems really fresh. 10/10 would recommend.

Ordered takeout tonight sesame chicken ,pork fried rice , chicken sticks ,steamed dumplings, egg rolls and a veggie roll very expensive and food was not good , egg rolls like mush inside , fried rice tasted like old cooking oil and sesame chicken over cooked. $60 and Lesson learned ,will not be back. Unfortunate read more

Food is alright but not worth the prices they are asking for. The large rice was literally $15 plus in a small takeout container. Hunan Wok on Germantown Pike and Joshua rd taste way better and prices there actually affordable! read more

The food is actually amazing. Its now my go to American Chinese spot. The owners are very nice and appreciative. Food is cooked very quick and efficiently, with such a fresh and great flavor. They also have great deals on lunch specials, around $10.50. They even have catering option which we might even do for the holidays! read more

I've lived in the area for over 20 years now and decided that I needed to find a Chinese restaurant close to home. I've driven past China Star but never stopped until recently and I'm very glad that I did. I've found my "close to home" Chinese restaurant. The food is great. I've always done take out so I can't review the inside service but by the time I place my order and get there, it is ready and it is GOOD! read more

Ordered over the phone and drove to pick up. Lady on phone was very friendly and asked if I was a new customer. When I said yes, she cheerfully responded "I love meeting new customers - see you soon!" Order was ready quickly. When I picked it up, the phone lady was there to greet me, thanked me for the order, and gave me some coupons. She was really nice. My General Tso chicken was fantastic. Hubby's Beef Lo Mein was a bit bland and could have used a bit more sauce. Egg rolls were on point. Recommend it! read more

Awesome food. Visiting family in Norristown. All 4 of us enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Just not good, even for the low price. The translucent chicken was floating in oil. The spring rolls had so little filling that all I could taste was dough. The beef and broccoli was more rice than anything. I could go on but you get the message. I won't go back read more

Typical Chinese kitchen in DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA. All the usual menu suspects with long lunch specials list @$6.95, with rice, broccoli and soft drink. Soup and egg roll not included. My General Tso's Chicken was served in house in a takeout container and flimsy white plastic fork. The flavor of the sauce had a little heat, but was otherwise unremarkable. Same for the fried rice and the florets. The only thing that stood out from the other Chinois/American hybrid houses was the outward charm and warm interaction provided by the friendly and solicitous owner, who was very happy to meet a new customer. Decent takeout place, but not beyond the mean of all such restaurants. Good for a fast and cheap lunch. They had a stream of people coming in for pickup while I was there, most of whom seemed to have been there before. Doubtful I will ever be in that group. read more

Really good flavors, big shrimp, finely cut tender vegetables, finely cut moo shu with good flavors, best in the area.

First time at China star everything was awesome. What a great place and the help was very polite and happy to see me.

The menu is simple and delicious! I got sweet and sour chicken , pork fried rice, general Tso chicken and spare ribs

Call me crazy...or chalk it up to the fact that I'm from Connecticut and not here, but I like this place. The sesame chicken is awesome. The fried rice is kinda meh, but it isn't awful. We've had both takeout and delivery to our friend's house which is maybe a half mile away. read more

Expensive and nasty! Sorry. The lady was nice though. Two stars because my daughter liked her food everyone else did not!

Fast service. Great food. No complaints here. Everything seemed clean. Oh but keep in mind, they prefer cash or it's a 25 cent charge to use your debit or credit cards. read more

China Star - Chicken wings with beef fried rice - Chinese Near Me - Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

Decided to support a local business via takeout order during covid19. So disappointed with the quality and taste of food from China Star. Got cashew chicken and there was not a single cashew in the entire order. Not even 1! It was just cut up chicken and vegetables. Pork lo mein had no flavor except just "salty". Oddly it actually had a chicken noodle soup taste to it, totally strange. Beef and broccoli was swimming in a tasteless broth? General tso's chicken had the most flavor of the 4 items we ordered but was a lot of small fried bits and not many actual pieces of chicken. Very disappointed in our experience with China Star and won't be returning. read more

China Star is great for businesses! Great catering trays, easy order and quick turnaround! Owner is super nice!

We probably go into China Star 1-3x a week. I'm not even sure where to start but the food taste and food quality are second to none. Cindy always knows what we eat and rarely has to ask what we want. Most of the time, Cindy will make something different just for us for try. Cindy goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy with her food! read more

Will never order from here again. The food is terrible. Don't order the fried wontons! I don't know how they think they can pass that off as food. Or the shrimp toast. I only hope I don't get sick. Just awful. And very rude woman at the front desk. read more

If you are in the mood for a Chinese food, this is a good local restaurant to go to. They have this Singapore noodles (thin noodles with spicy flavor if you are into that sort of taste,) which I was looking for, this alone makes me comes back to this restaurant. Plus they have a good open space parking lot, which allows you to quickly grab and go, and it seems that they have loyal customers based too. Food's ingredients look fresh, and the taste is spot on too. Nothing overly done, healthier. read more
