As a seafood lover, I was sold just based on the name alone The building itself is pretty cool. We were told it dates back to the 1880s and is the 2nd oldest building in Indiana behind some other one in Indianapolis. You can definitely feel the history when you walk in. The place is small, with only about 14 tables, and everything is packed in pretty tight, but that's part of what gives it character. The old bar immediately grabbed my attention and looked like it hadn't changed much in over a century We started with the Parmesan baked oysters, which were outstanding and surprisingly fresh for being in the Midwest The homemade clam chowder was loaded with clams and flavor. It was so good it didn't need anything added to it. We also ordered a couple of smoked Old Fashioneds that were a great way to start the night I wanted sea bass, but they were out, so I went with the walleye fish and chips. It's honestly hard for me to pass up fish and chips when they're on a menu, I'm glad I did. The fish was well-seasoned and on point My wife went with a seafood combo that included seafood au gratin, bay scallops, shrimp, crab, applewood bacon risotto, and baked in a lobster creamy sauce Being in Fort Wayne for just one night, this ended up being a great find. The food was excellent, the service was friendly (Shoutout Lindsay) and the whole place had a nostalgic feel that made the experience even better If you're passing through and in the mood for seafood or live locally, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.

We were hosting a special guest visiting from China, so we really wanted the evening to be perfect, and Copper Spoon delivered on every front. The food and drinks were outstanding across the board. We started with fresh oysters and delicious house breads, and our main courses--specifically the ribeyes and the salmon--were cooked to absolute perfection. As great as the food was, the absolute highlight of our evening was our waitress, Kate. She went exceptionally above and beyond to make sure our experience was nothing short of wonderful. Her attentive service, warm hospitality, and professionalism truly elevated the entire night for our group. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal with top-tier service in Fort Wayne, go to Copper Spoon and ask to sit in Kate's section. Highly recommended!

My husband ordered a burger. He really enjoyed his, & I enjoyed the martini-- I'm not vegan, so the fact that I didn't enjoy the dish was a personal issue, not on the restaurant. It was beautiful & had depth of flavor, it just wasn't to my liking. I wish there had been a few more options on the menu for food. Overall, the ambience was lovely & the restaurant is beautiful inside. Would return for another dining experience... I just know to avoid this dish on my second try!

She made perfect recommendations for our tastes and was very patient with our pace of dining. The pasta was made in-house and was perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the portion size which allowed us to enjoy 4 courses without feeling stuffed (although my wife took 1/2 her entree home). The wine selection was very nice as well. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. It was a Wednesday night and not too busy allowing us to have a conversation without any trouble. If you're looking for upscale Italian that will rival any restaurant, imo, don't hesitate.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by two hosts who were both very pleasant. We were seated immediately and accommodated our request to sit near the bar. The ambiance is absolutely striking. While chic and polished, the interior also gives off elegant Caesars Palace-inspired design vibes--grand, dramatic, and visually captivating. The bar setup is truly breathtaking and instantly draws you in, making it a perfect spot for a date night or celebratory evening. Our server, Dawn, truly made the night exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, and her recommendations were spot-on. We ordered the lasagna and the salmon with potatoes and spinach--both dishes were beautifully seasoned and full of flavor. The drinks were just as impressive. We enjoyed Uncle Nearest Nearest (which came with an ice cube stamped with an "A"--such a great attention to detail), a Luxy Lady, and prosecco--everything was a hit. I've seen a few comments about portion sizes, but we felt they were perfectly aligned with what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant--satisfying without being overwhelming. The only reason I didn't give a full five stars was due to the manager (or who I assume was the manager). He stood nearby for long periods without engaging with guests--no greeting, no smile--just an uncomfortable, awkward presence that felt a bit like being stared at. Most managers on the floor interact with guests, so this stood out. Aside from that, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning in the future.

A Letdown for Anyone Who Knows Hot Pot…read more Chose this for New Year's dinner over another spot. As someone who grew up with hot pot, this was a very disappointing experience. The Bad: · Broths: Tried 3 types. All were watery and completely bland. · Ingredients: Quail eggs were straight from a can. Crab had no meat. The only "noodles" were instant ramen packets. · Sauces: The dipping sauce station was out of cilantro--a main ingredient. · Drinks: The martini was amateurish and watered down. · Value: For the price, the quality is shockingly low. The (One) Positive: · The buffet does have a wide variety of frozen foods and seafood mix to choose from. Bottom Line: If you've never tried KBBQ/hotpot and just want the novelty, maybe. But if you know what good hot pot tastes like, save your money. You'll get better flavor and quality buying ingredients from an Asian grocery and cooking at home for a fraction of the price. I won't be returning.
