Carrot cake, chocolate croissant, chocolate alfajor
Emily W.

I have been craving a good chocolate croissant since moving to West Virginia and was pleasantly surprised to find that they made them here! The service here was amazing and the person helping me out had tried everything and had great recommendations. The chocolate croissant was delicious. The cake was pretty good, but not as moist as I wanted it to be. The alfajor was great as well.

WOW! Eat here NOW! The hot honey bacon egg empanada was one of the best items I've ever put in my mouth. The churro croissant was so sweet and flaky! The lemon poppyseed marshmallows were *chefs kiss*. And the service was SO friendly - and the barista made the best cup of coffee I've had in a very long time. Kudos all around to this cool venue and amazing menu!

Mini Chocolate Cake

We tried Nomada for the first time today. We got the ham and cheese empanada, bacon, egg, and cheese empanada, French toast croissant, mini strawberry cake, mini chocolate cake, carrot cake cupcake, chocolate strawberry cupcake, peanut butter chocolate cupcake, and chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow on it (can't remember what it was called). We got our food to go. The cakes are all very beautiful and well decorated. We just did not enjoy the flavor. Out of all of them I did enjoy the carrot cake. It was sweet, spiced, and had a good cream cheese frosting. The others cakes we did not enjoy. The chocolate cake was a bit dry. The peanut butter frosting and the strawberry frosting on the cupcake was okay. The flavor reminded me of strawberry ice cream. The cupcake with the marshmallow's frosting did not have any taste and an unpleasant texture. The mini strawberry cake was very salty, and the frosting had an unpleasant flavor compared to the cupcake's strawberry frosting. The mini chocolate cake was okay, and the frosting was tasty, reminded me of a mousse. Outside of the cakes we really enjoyed the empanadas and croissant. The empanadas are flavorful and warm. The real show stopper is the croissant. It is delicious! It was sweet, buttery, airy, and had so many layers. With tip the costs came to about $80, which is a bit pricey. Even though there were things we enjoyed, it is something we will not go out of our way to get again.

Berry Baby Cake

First of all the building and space Nomada is in is very cool! I had the Berry Baby cake which was moist and delicious. I also had the empanadas were out of this world, my personal favorite was the mexican street corn, anyone who likes Elotes will love this choice. The beef empanadas were also delicious and seasoned to perfection!!! The man who helped us today was very attentive and respectful!

Hot food was made to order. Both employees appeared to not enjoy their jobs - eye rolling and a few huffs. Ambiance overall was good.

I had a few breakfast items and several deserts. As you can see from the photo - food was devoured. Sorry. I couldn't stop eating to take a picture. Staff were very nice. Atmosphere was very exotic.

Can't wait to try this beef lentil soup, spicy beef and chicken curry empanada!

Mini cakes are always a delight when we order them. Empanadas, soups and bread are bomb! Never a disappointment when we buy our brunch here!

Very good donuts!…read more When we walked in it was crowded and had a few people in line. They had a good selection of donuts, both in types and amounts of each. After we walked in, a fire truck pulled up, and the lady stopped helping the line to help the firefighters - although I had kids in the car and was in a hurry - it felt very small town, and that somehow added to the appeal. We got a dozen donuts including blueberry cake, devils food, honey dew, buttermilk, Boston cream, banana cream, cinnamon powdered sugar, strawberry cream, and some other one I can't remember the name of. They were all very tasty! The creams were generous, flavorful and a great texture and the powdered toppings were strong and packed on! My typical go-to are blueberry cake and devils food/chocolate cake, and they were just okay, but the rest were absolutely worth trying! Interestingly, they do a baker's dozen (13 not 12) but the 13th donut is chosen from a separate case with options that are different than the regular donut options and at other places would cost more like cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, specialty long johns, etc. we found that fascinating, as I tried to get one as part of my dozen and they said those are the free ones instead. I don't usually eat sugar, so trying donuts on this vacation was a big stretch for me, but these were absolutely worth it! If you're ever in the area and want a treat that's both authentic and tasty, Jolly Pirates is the place to try!

Great Donut shop. Delicious Donuts, and always open. They…read morealso have sandwiches and Gyros, but those aren't available 24 hrs every day like the Donuts are. The prices are better than the convenience stores. And, like I may have mentioned, the Donuts are great here. Also, the staff is nice and fun. Sometimes I drive 300 miles for the Donuts- shhh. Don't tell anyone.
