While visiting my sister in Ironton I decided to take my niece for food & ice cream at The Shakery…read more When I come into town I always see a line of people and after having stopped in and ate I now know why. The Shakery is a cool "Mom & Pops" eater with a plethora of sweet treats. There is a place to stand and order outside, a drive thru, outside seating and indoor seating. You will see people of all ages. It's really nostalgic. The environment is nice & clean. Staff is friendly and I must say they did an excellent job for as busy as they were. There sweet treats vary from classic shakes to "blizzard-like" shakes, sundaes, specialty shakes, banana splits & slushies. I chose a peanut butter shake which was so creamy and full of peanut butter flavor. SO GOOD!!!!!! Perfect consistency for dipping my French fries in. Yea...I'm one of those lol. Scarlett chose a cherry slushie. You will get your sweet treats before your food. I ordered a hamburger and she got a kids grilled cheese and fries. The kids portion is a full size cheese sandwich btw. We enjoyed our time at the Shakery. The food is made to Order so don't expect drive-thru mentality. It's worth the wait I promise.

I love there milk shakes. The people are rude at times. But they are fast and the place is clean.read more

I ordered the Original Big Boy burger, a salad from the salad bar and shared a hot fudge cake with Dad. The burger included homemade tartar sauce, lettuce and pickles. However, when I checked the sandwich there was only one pickle lol. So I requested extra pickles. The burger was hot and tasty. The salad bar was almost out of lettuce when I made my salad. And there was no ranch dressing so I had to ask for it to be restocked. The cucumbers didn't look good so I avoided those. But the rest of the veggies looked fresh. The hot fudge cake was the best thing I ate. It had a layer of ice cream between two pieces of cake topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. The hot fudge put it over the edge. I'm glad I shared it with my Dad because it was pretty rich and I would not have been able to eat a whole piece. Our server was friendly and fairly attentive.
