We had an incredible dinner at IL Posto Bistro last night. The food was so good that I actually…read morestopped eating my rigatoni so I could bring the rest home for lunch today! We started with the crab cakes and homemade focaccia bread, both delicious. Everyone at the table loved their meals, and the portions were generous. I also really appreciated that they offered several alcohol-free drinks -- the raspberry mule was excellent. Overall, this is a cozy restaurant with great food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

It did not disappoint. The octopus was some of the best and most tender I have ever had. Sadly I didn't get a pic. The pasta was fresh and delicious. I had my favorite bucatini puttanesca. bucatini is also not on most menus. My wife had the rigatoni. Both are made in house and were delicious. We finished out with the lemon cream cake. Lemon is not one of my favorites. Sometime it can be overpowering. This was just the right balance and was a nice light cake to finish the meal. Our server was great. She was very attentive, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The place isn't big but also didn't feel cramped. But I would recommend a reservation or call ahead.

I've posted about Casa de Pasta in the past with much higher reviews…read more Our visit tonight was a disappointment to put it lightly. There has been a real change in quality lately. First the menu changes- no longer options to create your own pasta. Second you no longer get the fresh Italian bread with garlic butter. Now you get hard, stale focaccia bread that's barely edible. Third, we ordered a special for summer vegetable pasta. There was lots of noodles- little sauce and fewer summer vegetables. The veggies included were heavy on canned olives & mushrooms. Yuck! Our waitress was new and trying hard. She was struggling The neighboring table was annoying. They wanted greens but not greens & beans. They were friends of the owner so he was summoned to help them. Obviously they required a higher degree of service. The owner scuttled off to their beck & call and chose not to check in with those of us annoyed by their demands. I was sad to see things have declined here.

We came as a larger group and they were nice enough for us to order from the breakfast menu as they switched over the lunch menu at 11:30am. Our table enjoyed the food but all agreed it wasn't worth the price point. I tried the chocolate croissant with homemade butter and maple bacon jam along with the Canadian bacon Benedict. The chocolate croissant was nice with the maple bacon jam but definitely not worth the price point of $12. The croissant was quite smaller, like the chocolate croissants you can get from Costco or Starbucks. The Canadian bacon eggs Benedict however was delicious and I really enjoyed it! I just am not sure again it was worth the high price point. However I definitely felt the service was missing. As we were the only ones in the dining area, I felt the service was missing the mark. The server saw we were carrying a baby in the restaurant but didn't ask if we wanted a high chair. My mother-in-law spied it in the corner and then we had to ask for it and we proceeded to set it up at the table. As I was with 2 young kids, I ordered some simple items before the main course like their chocolate croissant and fruit cup. I assumed the server would ask if we wanted those ahead of time but that didn't happen. He also had forgotten my son's drink order and which my son actually had to ask him after some time "where's my juice?" My older son had ordered the s'mores waffles and it looked good when it was delivered but as I cut some of it for me to try later on, I soon realized the batter was uncooked in the middle of most of them. I was thoroughly disappointed he had eaten some of it before I discovered it was uncooked. The server throughly apologized and they remade the order which in the end, we ended up taking home with us. They also didn't take the order off the check for us which normally that would happen. For such a classy restaurant, we would think they would know how to make waffles and for more top-notch service. I think next time we will just enjoy the nice views and choose to eat somewhere else when we are in the area.
