As far as food is considered, there isn't any unless you bring your own or if a Food Truck is present. Service is provided but it lacks any personal touch or actual services other than pouring a drink and taking your money followed by smiling and expecting a generous gratuity. Their ambiance is what really impressed me most while I visited this place. There's very little NOFO has that wants me to visit their establishment again. read more

NoFo is really neat place to stop an have a cold one. Basically super clean bar with incredible high ceiling area inside. Serving variety of beers and soft drinks. There was large group of hikers (coming from Blood Mountain, see separate review) that stopped here. Everyone enjoyed their drink with limited snack selection. Service was prompt. We ordered inisde and sat on the large patio outside area with our sweaty bodies. Tab noisy outside with the GA-400 traffic, but so nicely set up. We had dog too, who roamed around on the the patio. Family and dog friendly. Clean gender neutral bathrooms with individual seating, and shared common area to wash your hands. Conveniently located on GA-400, but you may need to do a U-turn to get here as GA-400 is divided highway. Lots of free parking. read more

This is a great, local brewery that despite its relatively small size, has a large selection of brewed onsite beers which are all really good. I'm not a big IPA fan so can't speak to those but all the others I can speak to from experience and they're all great! My favorite warm weather beer is The Montague, a crisp Pilsner that goes down easy on a hot day but has lots of unique flavor. They have an Irish stout called Saddler (I think, May be misremembering the name) which has great body and flavor, it's a bit to heavy for me on hot days (usually) but a great Fall beer. They don't have a kitchen on site but almost always have a food truck onsite at dinner time (times seem to vary). My favorite is Draztic Aztec (sorry if I'm a bit off on the name). I get emails from NoFo on the truck schedule but it doesn't always align with which truck actually shows up so my advice is to come for some great beer and just roll with whatever food is available. As far as ambiance goes, it's exactly what you'd expect from a local brewery, very casual and laid back with plenty of outdoor space. The service here is a bit of a surprise, all of the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and the beers including the taste and brewing methods which I love. Only one drawback to this place, we like to take Ubers to breweries so we can enjoy several different beers and get home safely. Since they're located in northern Forsyth County, those rides can be pricey and with long waits. read more

Great vibe, great people, great service, and great beer. They have so many taps with so many different options to choose from. They also have cocktails which all sounded delicious. But I stuck to a beer flight on this visit. They have a big tap room and plenty of seating both inside and outside. There's also a nice big parking lot with plenty of parking. It seemed like a food truck was pulling up when I was leaving. It was a great stop for me along my route. I'm not a local, but I'd definitely get the local vibe here and can see this being a cool hangout spot. read more

Hopped on over on a cold day with the furry friend. Sat outside (dogs only allowed outside. I was pleased to see plenty of heaters and a fire pit. The layout was great! Lots of kids here so as well as dog friendly it is very kid friendly. I came by on a Sunday afternoon and they had a pizza food truck outside. Not sure if there is always a food truck but it seemed quite convenient! Beers were good, they even had cocktails on their menu. Will comeback to try their cocktails. Great selection of beer on tap! We tried the "law abiding patriot"- pomegranate, cranberry, cherry sour. I highly recommend! We also tried the Mexican lager, also good if you're looking for something light. QR codes were featured on all tables including a huge menu inside. They had plenty of cool swag/merchandise. Plenty of options. Overall a great neighborhood brewery. This brewery did not disappoint! Atmosphere was cool and there was plenty of seating. Beer was good-I got the gose and my boyfriend got a flight with an NE IPA, Belgian blonde, Vienna lager, and honey wheat beers. He said all the beer was delicious. The only thing we wished they had was some more shade outside! Maybe some umbrellas on the front astroturf since it was super hot sitting in the sun. read more

NoFo is exactly what this area needs! It's got a great energy and was hoppin' (pun intended) throughout its opening weekend. The beers are GOOD. They started out with 4 this weekend (IPA, Saison, Lager, and Porter), and our server said they already plan to add 4 more next weekend, including a sour. You can get a flight of 4 ($12) as well as 10 oz ($5) and 16 oz ($7) pours. I had pours of the Apres Vous Saison and the Diversion Lager, and both were very tasty! Clean, bright, and refreshing. The inside is white with a large painting of a mountain and quote about being adventurous. There are a variety of seating options including barstools, tables, and couches. There's also an outside area with lawn games, fire pits, and parking for food trucks. The patio is also dog-friendly! My one complaint is that they had 2 games (baseball and football) on the TVs when we were there, and the sound from one of them (I think football?) was very loud. I'd much rather have some upbeat background music playing than have to talk to people over other people talking about sports. I wish NoFo great success and hope they keep creating awesome craft beers to quench the thirst of the North Forsyth crowd. read more

I've been visiting NoFo at all their locations since they opened. I have been a frequent and loyal customer, but no more. After eating dinner on the square in Gainesville, which was bustling with tons of people, we decided to go to NoFo for a nightcap. We were shocked to see a sparse crowd but appreciated the quiet outdoor setting. Oh but not for long. For about 30 minutes these 2 kids ran through our party disrupting our enjoyable evening. Since no management ever came outside to monitor the area nor did their parents seem to care we asked the kids, both under 8 yrs old, to stop. While it was annoying it was also a safety issue as they almost hit their heads on the outdoor bar adjacent to the fixed window on multiple occasions. On the way out the daddy took exception to this request and elevated the situation. After his argument trying to excuse his lack of parenting went nowhere, he left. However he must have complained to a staff member on his way out pertaining to our request. This staff member then came out and chastised our party for our behavior, which was warranted because of his inability to handle the situation. The NoFo "daycare" has placed a priority on "families" over well paying adults just trying to enjoy the evening. Enjoy the decline of your brewery as evidenced by the aforementioned lack of business. read more

Another great visit at NoFo on a Friday night. We got there early but it seems that most had the same idea. The beer selections were top notch with about everything for everyone. Entertainment started at 7 and we spent the rest of the weekend talking about how good the guy was (Luke Latimer). The food truck there for the night was decent enough, though I expected a bit more like salsa and tomatillo sauce since it offered Mexican food. It was very bare bones. A permanent truck would make me want to come every weekend... well if the food was good. read more

Opening day for this new brewer in Forsyth County. The inside building is well done with a minimalist, yet slightly modern and clean interior. The exterior offers a sizable lawn where they have cornhole games setup. There is also a massive exterior firepit for those cool evenings. So let's talk beer. They have only four offerings at this time, but have overall done a great job. The Farmhouse Ale was excellent - very clean and drinkable; the IPA was also a good drinker and not overly hoppy; the Porter was smooth and infused with coffee - I'm not a fan of coffee, so not a big fan of the beer, however, I think coffee lovers will embrace it. I was glad that they had a lager as one of their offerings because I think it is a big miss for a lot of breweries today. Lagers are a great way to introduce non-craft brew drinkers to craft brews. Unfortnately, for me, their lager fell a bit short on flavor and was a little bit too crisp and bright. This is a brewery and they do not have a kitchen so they do not offer food at this time. However, they do have rotating food trucks open and available for the evening. Currently, my only negative is the fact that they charge $12 for a beer flight. I have been to countless breweries across the nation and I've never paid as much as $12 for a flight of beer. Flights are a great way to introduce patrons to your beer so that the customer can sample and decide what they like and what they don't like. Many people new to a brewer start with a flight of the brewery's beer to get acquainted with it. Then they buy pints afterwards. A flight of beer, which typically consists of four 4 oz beers (which equals a pint) should not cost $12 - $12 for a beer is over-the-top. Overall, I am ecstatic to see a quality craft brewery in North Forsyth County and I feel that NoFo Brew has a lot of promise. The beers I had in my flight- Pillsner, two IPAs, and the Baltic Porter - were all good. But this place was packed, and there was no distancing or mask enforcement whatsoever. I don't expect all customers to wear masks while seated, but even the staff was unmasked. I still paid (and tipped), but I would've stuck around longer and tried the food from the food truck if I felt like it was a safer establishment. They had warnings on the door, but it was unfortunately all for show. read more

This is a review of the ambiance as the beer is decent but a hard no for me is the kids. If you are cool with getting drunk at a day care then this is the place for you. I have been on the weekend nights over the past 6 months and each time there are more and more kids running amuck. When told we were unable to play out of decision in congruent with management, management offered zero support to clientele, again whom visits multiple times a week.... I like this place. It used to be just a beer joint, and that didn't bother me at all because I drink beer. Now they have added liquor as well. This is good because I've known people that didn't want to go because they don't like beer or also people that have gluten allergies can't drink beer. Now they have Vodka, Gin, and Whiskey. They almost always have food trucks outside or if not several restaurants in the area don't mind delivering there to you. My go to and I think most people's go to is Snow Ghost. The Mexican lager is pretty good as well. Also on Wednesday they do music bingo and trivia on Thursday. It's free to do either. Sometimes they have musicians come into do live music. I've quickly become quite fond of this brewery. They have a beautiful tap room, bar seats with backs (a real plus), a comfortable conversation area, and outdoor space. The beer is very good. Just about every brewery does IPA and sours well; this one is doing lagers quite well; which are much more challenging to make. Some beers you'll want to try: My Porter Boy Coffee Porter, Apres Vous Farmhouse Ale, Diversion Lager, North Rim Rye IPA, Summit Skies Helles, and Bergsteiger Munich Dunkel. If you like German Helles style beer, Summit Skies is a great choice. Well crafted. Excellent place to hang out for a time. Good folks running it. I became interested in this place once I first saw the sign. I remember passing the building that used to be a musical instrument store and became curious on the development. It was exciting to see a craft brewery make its way to the north end of the county and on the way to Dawsonville, and I could not wait to try it. After several trips visiting the hometown, I finally got the opportunity to enter and grab a drink. The place looks well adjusted to being a craft brewery and had a variety of pours for most any beer drinker. I got to try the lake life variety, which is a wheat style with a hint of honey. I thought it would be great for sipping while on the water in Lake Lanier, like the name suggests. I also got to try one of the sour beers, with hints of boysenberry and cherry, while enjoying company in the outside patio area near the fireplace. We decided to stop by on our way home from Elijah and Im so glad we did! It's really beautiful inside and out and there's ample seating (comfy couches included). There was also a food truck that all of us found something we liked. I appreciated that they had sparkling water on tap since I don't drink beer.
