We visited NODA 101 on a Thursday night for some karaoke while in town for a conference. I fell in love with the vibes at this place. Everyone is so supportive and we had so much fun. The drinks were good and the karaoke was fun. My only comment is that it was a little crammed in there and hard to get around, but they definitely made the most of their space. The people in this place were so much fun and everyone was really friendly. I'd definitely go back again. read more

We came here on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy by 11pm. Not sure if it was intentional but it seemed like it was R&B night which was amazing for me because I love R&B! The crowd was high energy, some people had amazing voices and the vibe was fun. Drinks were pretty affordable, and my only negative is that I wish I knew their house was El Toro I haven't had that in years and it gives me the worst hangover, once I asked the bartender I switched to another tequila lol. Idk what the other nights are like but I personally enjoyed the vibe of how Wednesdays nights. It is nice because you scan a QR code to search a song and get added to the queue. You can see where you are in line and what songs have been picked so you don't repeat someone else's. They have a small stage you sing on and everyone sings along to root you on! read more

What is there NOT to love about NoDa 101?!!! I've gone a few times and love the vibes each and every time! I've done a few numbers on the mic myself and I love how friendly the crowd is, how great the drinks are, and the energy of the DJ hosting the karaoke sessions! I also love that karaoke is literally EVERY DAY the bar is open and it's free to sing! I'm not aware of many bars that allow karaoke every day, or free of charge as much as them! Whenever I'm in NoDa, I always make it my duty to stop by for a great time! read more

It was cute - Nice choices of alcohol. Our bartender was the dark hair female with the snatched face (loved her). Didn't like how to DJ wanted to sing a song in between sets (while the queue has 4 people waiting). Started slow granted it was around 8pm then roughly an hour later it was packed out. Cute time - Cute Place - Cute Vibes. YOU WILL MISS IT IF YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION there are a lot of places around the building so look closely. read more

Hands down one of the best karaoke spots around! They have karaoke daily, yes.. daily! Any night of the week is a good time to go to NODA 101. The songbook is full of songs so you're bound to find something. The bartenders keep the drinks flowing and their prices are very affordable. Hence why you may see a lot of people extremely tipsy on a weekend night. Security is always nice and never overbearing. If you're a fan of karaoke, this is a place you must try. read more

After a delicious dinner in NoDa, my cousin and I were looking for something to do. We did a search and came across this spot. If you have not been here you must make your way down. Great drinks, awesome environment, and some good performances. Side note, do NOT drop the mic. read more

NoDa 101 - a bar filled with liquor bottles - Karaoke Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

After reading some of the other reviews I was a little weary of this place. I came out for a specific event\ karaoke night hosted by the Urban League. The place was packed and there was hardly any standing room. It was pretty epic though to hear the entire bar singing Fugees - Killing Me Softly With His Song to the top of their lungs. Despite other reviews the DJ was very adamant about being fair and not letting the same people get on stage all night. This also was my first time trying some of the local beers. This bar had Legion on tap. The Juicy Jay was a favorite. read more

When most people think of karaoke in Charlotte Jeff's Bucket Shop seems to be the one that gets mentioned most often. No disrespect to Jeff's because I have had a lot of fun there in the past, but if I had to select a go to karaoke spot it would have to be NoDa 101. What I like the most is the friendly and encouraging atmosphere. We were in here last week for a friend's birthday and everyone had a blast. The DJ was great and even started off the night by reminding the crowd that the most important rule is "no booing". Everyone seemed supportive of each person who sang and our group was able to have a lot of fun and a memorable birthday celebration. read more

Great karaoke spot! Cheap drinks, nice vibe! Not a lot of seating, though. DJ plays whatever song you want to sing!

In the mood to sing? NoDa 101 is your spot. It's a bare bones bar (no food, minimal seating), but the DJ and the bar staff are friendly and on point. The vibes are good, and they have basic rules to keep things fair and friendly. read more

This is always a HIT spot whenever we are in Noda. For some reason, we always end up going on Sunday, which is service industry night. Everybody is always super friendly and welcoming. This is a karaoke bar, but even if you don't actually stand and sing something, it's still an awesome bar to go and listen to others and get a couple of drinks. They don't sell any type of food here, so definitely plan on grabbing a quick bite before you go. When you go up to sing, everyone makes you feel super welcomed and get you going, and everyone sings along, especially if it's a classic or favorite! This is definitely a bar I recommend to everyone when they are in Noda. This is the most liveliest bar, and the ambiance is always on point! Now this is in Noda, so parking is terrible. There are a couple of parking lots you can park at or Side Street if you get there early enough. We do tend to arrive early just yo be able to snag a seat at the bar and be comfortable. read more

Karaoke is life for me so I'm happy I stumbled across this place! Well I didn't really stumble I was actively looking for a karaoke joint and it did not disappoint. I came here on Saturday night around 9pm and I was easily able to get a standing spot at their U shaped bar. There are tons of drink specials listed on the walls for any given day. The bartenders were kind and moving fast to get drinks out to ppl. They do not serve food however I did see a vending machine with some snacks. Nowwww as for the Karaoke part, my throat was sore in the morning after singing along with everyone that was performing. Gotta love it when someone performs a song you completely forgot about. I went up to the DJ's booth to scan the QR code which pulls up the database for all the songs they have then I wrote my request done on the sheet there. It took about 2 hours for my song to come up which I didn't mind because I was drinking and vibing so the time went by fast. I performed Kanye's "Jesus Walks" and I was sooo mad because by this time my voice was soo scratchy from all the singing I did to everyone else's songs. But I still did pretty good I'd say. I can't wait to come back here again read more

if I could put zero stars I would. Some of the rudest bouncers I have ever met. the Bouncer was rejected by a friend of mine in the past and was refusing to let us is. we have been coming to this bar for months and because his feelings were hurt he decided to be a unprofessional little baby. I really like karaoke bars. For those of you that also like to participate, this is not your place. The same 2 people sang the entire night and none of the 9 of us in our party got to sing after 2 1/2 hours. The host wasn't even calling names, the two people just swapped stage the entire night. They were sub par and singing bad RnB love songs. This seems to be more and more common at these types of establishments. Thanks for ruining everything I love, . read more

Super fun karaoke night. It was hard for the bartenders to keep up with the crowd but they seemed to be doing their best. I'd go back. Just be patient with the service. read more

Karaoke is always a win for me because it doesn't matter if you can carry a tune or not it2 all about singing your heart out and having complete strangers cheer you on. karoke mcee kept the crowd engaged with dance breaks. Plenty if song ro choose from ; theres two big song catalogs to search through Drink specials on par and bartenders were quick and werent hard to flag down for anorher round. There's a bar dog name Luna so give her a pet or just be on the look out for her. Theres no food but we walked from Benny's pizza beforehand and there's a few places adjacent or down a block or 2. Had a lot of fun. Definitely will be back read more

This is one of my favorite stops when in NoDa--I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area. NoDa 101 is a very small, quirky and unique bar. When you walk in, the room is consumed by the giant bar in the middle. They have a small stage up front for some of the area's best karaoke. There are a couple of arcade games in the bar as well for entertainment...but truly the karaoke is the reason to go! If you're looking for a bar that's always busy, this is not the place. I've gone in multiple times and been the only person other than the bartender. But at night, especially on the weekends, you can expect a good crowd looking to have fun! read more

Really great atmosphere to have fun that isn't a club. Huge bar and karaoke. $1 cover depending on when you arrive. Had fun here.

Let me start by saying that NoDa 101 has a cozy atmosphere, draws a crowd that's ready for a good time, and situated in the heart of NoDa. A few friends and I walked in ready for an evening filled with drinks & karaoke, just another typical Thursday. Everything was going great until we came in contact with any of the workers. We had a blonde female bartender, and upon ordering our first round of drinks, she was very unhelpful when we were trying to ask for recommendations and refused to let us try a sample on tap. We brushed it off, ordered, and consumed a sub-par mixed drink. It became a bit more crowded when we were ready for round 2, but nothing wild. I was ordering 2 drinks and in the middle of ordering, the bartender told me to hurry up and motioned it with her hands. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional, and set a negative tone for the remainder of the evening. We met some pretty cool people and decided to give karaoke a try. Our name got called as we were closing out, so I said just a moment, and the lady running karaoke said "do you want to sing or not?" Just another buzz kill. I've heard this place is hit or miss, and I definitely see the potential, but looks like we just came the wrong night. It's not fun to leave any place feeling less than when you walked in. So overall, fun vibe and atmosphere, just poor service. read more

All fun and games until Paige your bartender doesn't know how to manage a crowd. I witnessed her argue with a different group about their order of drinks. Thinking nothing of it, I ordered my shots and asked her for limes. She gave me one. And then when I asked for more she said "that attitude will get you nowhere". I've worked food and bev before so believe me when I say she was disrespectful for no reason. Never coming again. read more

Decent little Karaoke/Bar spot. A lot of drunk white folks so it's funny as hell Decent priced drinks & okay service.

I just wanted to do this review to commemorate the single worst old fashioned I've had in my entire life, indeed quite possibly the worst cocktail I've ever had. Granted this was some time ago and yet that one cocktail still haunts me. How on earth can a few simple ingredients conspire to to make something so offensive as to permanently corrupt my very soul. I shall carry the scar of this drink to my grave... A pox on your house. read more

What a terrible experience. Came here with a group of 10 to sing karaoke. When karaoke started there was a woman here who was so drunk that her skirt was up around her waist and she was humping a few different guys right in front of the stage. Nobody asked her to leave despite the scene she was causing. Later, a friend in our group went to the stage to take pictures as another in our group was singing. When he came back his seat was taken and he politely asked the woman to move. She did move but went and told the bouncer that my friend "threatened her" and they promptly came over, no questions asked, and threw him out of the bar as she smugly took his seat. Our group closed out our tabs and left with him and will never come back. This is the most poorly managed bar I think I have ever been to and they seriously need to learn to judge character. read more

This was my first time attending. Some of my classmates from nursing school decided to go do some karaoke, post final exam. We had a great time! Good crowd! Bartender was awesome! Such a fun spot! Staff is attentive and the karaoke is so so fun! Highly recommend for a fun night out.

Bouncers were terrible and made innapropiate comments towards people. Not a fan of the decor and did not appreciate comments.

Of all the places in NoDa, this place is one of my favorites! It's quaint, small, quirky and frankly.. what better idea is it than to have a Karaoke Bar open 7 days a week until 2-freakin'-am?! I mean.. Just imagine the type of people who stumble in and out of here.. so it has to be awesome! It's a great place to either: (a) start your night or (b) end your night if you are bar hopping in the area or (c) spend your evening people-watching as they liquid courage their way up to the stage Come here enough and you'll start to get familiar with the regs such as the older gentleman who karaokes with his trumpet! It's pretty phenomenal if you ask me. Drinks are not expensive here. Bartenders are pretty great, even on busier nights. Song Book is huge. (Will have no problem picking a song from any random genre your heart desires) Guy checking IDs is hilarious. read more

How to describe this place? I think the most accurate description would be a dive bar with really good food. There's not much space to sit, unless you're sitting at the bar. If that's your goal however then hop right on in here, just don't come here on a date trying to have a conversation cause you'll regret it (the music is really really loud)! They've got local beers, domestic drafts, IPAs you name it they probably have a good selection for your excellent tastes. Check in here on foursquare or yelp and get a free draft as well! I've got to give it to their service for being new they are the friendliest nicest people around. Though maybe they might want to tone it down on the checkins to see if everything is alright. I asked about how a cider tasted and our server described it to me and then he came back with a glass full of it for me to try out. Wow I wasn't expecting that! I ended up ordering a Loco Coco which I did not like so I'm thankful that he brought me some cider on the house that I could enjoy. Food here is banging, get the Rueben. Trust me gorgeous rye bread toasted nicely with mounds of sauerkraut and corned beef piled inside served with your choice of side. I liked the salt and pepper chips I have no idea where they got them from or if they made them, all I know is that one moment it was there and the next it was all gone. Magic chips I tell you! Somehow they vanished into my mouth. Great food, friendly people, super chill. Go here to unwind and listen to the cool music or watch a game. read more

Terrible place. Went on 8/1/17. Decided to stop by with a friend for a last round of drinks. We went to the bathroom and one of our bottles accidentally fell on the toilet. I went to let the male barback know and he immediately snapped at me and made remarks. I apologized to him and even then he kept treating me and my friend terrible. We just left our drinks and decided to leave as he just kept shouting things. read more

NoDa 101 is your spot if you're into karaoke. While the name lack any creativity at all, this is a pretty fratty bar. It's relatively small with a centralized bar and a stage at the end of the bar where the karaoke goes down. Since the bar is pretty narrow, moving around was pretty tough on a Saturday night. Bros and white girl wasted ladies were singing their hearts out as music blared from the speakers. Holding a conversation is pretty tough but if you're trying to rock out and love karaoke, you'll have a good time. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars simply for the karaoke DJ Jon who made the atmosphere what is was last night. He was fun, everyone was singing and having the best night. The only thing wrong? The bartender. The old miserable woman bartender needs to not work in this service industry. Never in my life have I encountered such a grumpy old troll with a terrible attitude. She might as well have had a tattoo on her forehead that said "I hate my job, and my life". I'll never step foot in the establishment as long as she's working. The only tip she needs is a lesson on not being a bitch to customers. F that lady Foreal read more

awesome spot but they need to fire that old hag behind the bar. I tried ordering a drink from her and she looked at me like I asked her for custody of her children. i just stared back uncomfortably. she then walks away for 10 minutes then comes back and says alright what do u want... nothing now? my friend, for some god knows why reason, decided to try to order a drink from her after this. 10 minutes later the bartender comes back with a simple rum and coke and thinks she overhears my friend say something about her then proceeds to YANK THE DRINK AWAY AND STARE AT MY FRIEND!! then say you want your drink? WTF!!!! it was so uncomfortable, she was sooo nasty, it absolutely ruined the fun vibe that the new karaoke guy was providing who is AMAZING!! definitely get rid of the dead weight and put someone with a personality behind the bar of such a cool spot read more
