We walked from the light rail to explore Noda and we seated ourselves on the patio. Our server came to assist us very quickly, walking us through the menu, and being exceptionally friendly. I've forgotten his name but he had a very smooth voice. Neither one of us was particularly fond of our drink and he offered to replace it but we insisted we were alright. The wings were the right choice, the barbalo(bbq/buffalo) was sweet and tangy while the leg humper(peach/habanero) was just the perfect level and flavor of spicy. You do have to have an understanding of what you're asking for (elevated dive bar perhaps but that's a vibe I like) but the food, service and drinks are always great. I personally think the wings are some of the best in Charlotte (value wise) and the basket of fries is worth the $4-5 in my opinion. JackBeagle's doesn't look like all that from the outside and is indeed mostly a dive bar on the inside but in my opinion the Jacks (Billy Jack's Shack and JackBeagle's, not related but located across from one another) have some of the best food in all of NoDa (unless you wanna dish out money on a big bill for nice Italian). The beer and food is all reasonably priced and so good. The cheesesteaks are my favorite, the mac and cheese is raved about, and this is a well kept secret- but they serve brunch here. The back area often have live bands, and when it's crowded people can expand to sit/stand upstairs on the neighboring building. JackBeagles is quintessential NODA to its core! They have been around forever and have long been one of my go to places when visiting NODA. There are lots of great restaurants in the area with just about every cuisine you could imagine but this is the place for classic bar cuisine done right! I would be amiss if I didn't mention their hotdogs which are some of the best in town! I suggest getting them "ripped" for the true experience.
