I wanted to treat him to a hot shave because in his 70+ years, he had never had one. Found the Americana and Anthony answered the phone, saying he would be happy to help. So I sent him down. Hubby got a "Heroes" discount on his haircut because he is a veteran (nice touch - thank you Americana for honoring our Vets!) and he got a luxurious shave. Under all that facial hair, my hubby was still there! Who knew? Thank you, Anthony, for taking a scruffy dude and sending home a clean cut gentleman! He enjoyed the shave experience and I enjoyed the results!

Then I received a phone call from my sister-in-law, whose son was getting married that day, and I realized I was running about 30 minutes late. Mena was so kind and accommodating and still got me in! She was incredibly professional, and the staff was so welcoming and understanding. Honestly, if that had been my regular salon, I'm not sure they would have been nearly as flexible. Thank you, Mena, for your kindness, understanding, and professionalism. I truly appreciate you helping me out on such an important and busy day! -Antonia Gerber

Filomena, didn't they teach you in kindergarten that lying is wrong? I want to clarify a few…read morethings. I never insulted you in Spanish -- that you don't understand my beautiful Chilean Spanish is one thing, but claiming I insulted you is another. On September 10, just four days after my haircut, I went back to your salon because I didn't like how it looked. You were completely freaking out, asking your receptionist who I was and why I was there instead of simply asking me. Only after I introduced myself ("Filomena, it's Carla from Chile") did your attitude change. Because my English is limited and your Spanish isn't good either, I made sure to write down and translate exactly what I wanted to say so I could explain it politely: "Hi Mena, I called you but you didn't answer. Since I left work early, I came because I had the time. It's not a big deal, I just don't like my haircut because it's flat and I want layers." At first, even though you only wanted to give me a lesson on how to style my hair, I said yes, I wanted your help. But when you started giving opinions about my face shape and telling me you had already done "many" layers, as if to say I didn't need more, that's when I decided to tell you no -- because it's not up to you to decide whether I like my own hair or not. I paid you over $500. And honestly, if after 30+ years in this business you still haven't figured out how to treat your clients with respect, maybe you should ask for a refund on that "experience" -- because clearly three decades haven't been enough for you to learn. Finally, I would like to know if your salon has cameras with microphones to corroborate that everything I'm saying is true. Carla

I've been coming here for over a year and always trusted Manny with my hair. About two months…read morebefore this appointment, I came in for my usual haircut without realizing Manny wasn't there. Another stylist cut my hair instead, and I was extremely unhappy with the results. I called the salon afterward to express how disappointed I was because my hair wasn't what I had asked for. Because Manny had always done a great job for me in the past, I scheduled another appointment specifically with him, hoping he could fix what had happened. Instead, I left feeling even worse. I only asked for my usual curtain bang trim. Instead, multiple professional hairstylists have since told me that what I received is a straight bang, not a curtain bang. They also pointed out that the bangs are uneven, don't frame my face correctly, are much too thick, and that hair from farther back on my head was pulled forward and cut into the bangs, making them far heavier than they should be. This completely changed the hairstyle I had spent so long growing out. I create content for a living, and my appearance is a major part of my work and how I pay my bills. This haircut has seriously affected my confidence and made it difficult for me to create the content I normally do because I no longer feel like myself. I even went to another local salon for a second opinion, and they confirmed the issues with the haircut and explained that there isn't an easy fix without waiting months for my hair to grow back. To the salon's credit, they did refund me after I reached out, and I appreciate that. However, a refund doesn't give me my hair back or undo the time it will take to grow it out. After everything that happened, I honestly walked away feeling like my concerns weren't taken seriously. I can't say why the haircut turned out the way it did, but after my previous complaint about the first bad haircut, it's hard not to wonder whether that played a role. I truly hope that's not the case, but it's how this experience left me feeling. I never expected to leave a negative review after trusting this salon for over a year. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be returning.

How do you have three stylists doing nothing and still can't take a walk-in? It only got worse once I actually sat down for the haircut. The stylist repeatedly pressed against a large zit on the back of my head, causing sharp, throbbing pain every time. It was obvious it hurt, yet there was zero awareness or care. What should have been a simple, quick haircut turned into one of the most uncomfortable and irritating experiences I've ever had at a salon. This place clearly lacks both professionalism and basic customer care.
