UPDATE: 6/18/25 8:07 PM The owners wife reached out to me and she was incredibly kind. She contacted me just second's after my review. She didn't ask me to change it. She just seemed very concerned that my teen left unhappy and wanted to do anything she could to fix it. She asked me to send photos and videos of the haircut he wanted and the one he had. She then rescheduled him to come back and see Tony and Juan to have his haircut from Zoe fixed. They went out of their way to help my child feel comfortable and though he had to have his hair a little shorter to fix the earlier cut, he left very happy. They even sent him home with a t-shirt and did not charge him to fix things and refunded his hair cut that he was not happy with. As a result, I changed my 1-star review to 5 starts. I do think I would caution people who are under 18 to maybe avoid Noe. I think he would be great for any adult, but he does not seem current only teen hairstyles and is limited in his skills with kids/teens. For an adult, he would probably be great. Tony and Juan are amazing and my son said he would go back to them anytime. I think its important to give people a second chance as at the end of the day they can really impress us. They never asked me to update my review. I just felt I should. 6/18/25 10:00 am This experience was really upsetting for my 15 year old son. I am actually writing this review from my car as his hair apt with Noe went that bad. We booked with Tony I am positive because I took a screenshot. When we arrived the shop was locked at not even open at 9 am. Noe arrived a few mins late and then took 15 mins to setup the shop. He put chairs outside etc. I mentioned we had a 9 am apt with Tony and another customer came in at 9 am and said he had a 9 am with Tony. The customer said he booked it around 5 pm last night so I know we were switched because I booked our apt a few days before that. Noe told us we had never booked with Tony but him. My son showed him a specific photo of a Wolfe cut and Noe said he would try. He botched the cut and didn't know what he was doing. My son grew his hair out for a year to be able to have hair long enough for this cut. Noe was not friendly with my child at all and did not talk to him once. My son was not okay and looked upset the entire cut. At the end I asked my son is this what you wanted and he said no. Noe didnt even try to trouble shoot he acted liked we didn't say that in front of him and just gave me the price. I don't know why we tipped him it was awful service. We won't be coming back here which saddens me because I think my son really would have liked Tony. I spent a hour reading review before I selected the correct barber I thought would work with him. read more

I usually keep my head shaved, so I haven't had to visit a barber shop in over 25 years. This spring, I decided to start growing out a beard, and it finally got to the point where it was needing a trim. I'll be honest, At first, I felt odd visiting a barber for just a beard trim, but the guys inside made me feel completely at ease. Now my beard looks great. The shop is unique, the barbers are professional, and there are great conversational to be had inside. I will absolutely be returning in the future. read more

Update: First time I went I had an appointment and was seen 10 mins after my scheduled time. No big deal at all. Other customers want to make sure they get a quality visit. Last time I was taken 40 mins after my scheduled appointment. People they knew would walk in and be taken ahead of me. Great cuts, horrible experience. If I go again, I'll make sure it's when they open and hope a buddy doesn't show up so I get passed. read more

Our first experience was amazing, but the woman we saw was no longer available. Now, there's no real point in making an appointment. We switched to Juan and he doesn't seem to have great time management nor does he give his full attention. After making an appointment (well in advance) we waited (the appointment was for our 8-year old) for over 30 minutes. During the cut there were several distractions (the movie playing) that set us back even further. When our son was done with his cut it was after 5:30pm. Maybe we had high expectations taking a younger person to a barber shop. But when you're getting a kids cut at 4:15, it shouldn't take OVER AN HOUR and cost $35+ tip. The cut isn't even even and we now have to pay for someone else to clean up Juan's errors. read more

Hands down the best barbershop in the 209. Classic styles and great customer service. I made the mistake and went elsewhere one time and was a nightmare of a haircut. I had a long break in getting my hair and beard cut/trimmed due to Covid-19 restrictions. When it got to the point that I couldn't stand it any longer I searched YELP and found Trevino's. One of the best search results I've had on the app. Once my barber was done I was so impressed I immediately made an appointment for next month. I can recommend Trevino's without reservations. It's what I'd refer to as a Barbershop . It's not to be confused as a "styling salon ." This is a Barbershop and a damn fine one at that. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

Lazy haircut and late for appointment. My husband got his hair cut yesterday. We showed up early for our appointment because we respect professionals and their time. However, our barber walked in 15 minutes after our appointment time which we felt was disrespectful of our time as costumers who scheduled an appointment over a week in advance. This also pushed back the barber so his next appointment waited for over 15 minutes. During the hair cut the barber was nice and chatted with my husband but it's really the haircut that counts. The barber did the sides short, which is great since summer is coming. But he failed to shape the top at all, left it long in the front and towards the middle so it looks like a weird fohawk cut. My husband let the barber know that he does not style his hair, so after his hair dried and parted in the middle, the front of his hair awkwardly curls over the faded sides and the back of his hair looks SUPER uneven. My husband refuses to go back to have anyone fix this terrible hair cut because he does not want to return. He plans on cutting it himself. This is not a place for a guy who wants a no maintenance hair cut. read more

I was on a time crunch because I'm going out of town, but decided to make an appointment. The only person that had any openings was their newest barber, Elissa. She's only been at this location for about a week and I have to say...she is incredible. Super personable and a killer personality. She definitely has a great eye for detail. Recently moved to Modesto from an area where barbershops have remained closed due to COVID. I haven't had a haircut in nearly 5 months. Needless to say I was really looking forward to a trim. I made an appointment and scheduled it with Tony, the owner. The cost was a bit more than I usually pay, but I thought what the hell, might as well live it up. I'm kinda used to the big chain-style barbershops, just a chip n run. Most of the time okay, sometimes bad. That being said, Tony took his time, nearly an hour, and really put in some work on my mop. I am extremely happy with the outcome. Now, my wife dug the longer hair. She was almost in tears when I told her I was getting it cut. Begging me not to, the whole nine. When I walked in the front door after my trim her jaw dropped. Straight-up dropped! She thinks it's the best haircut I've ever received. Told me I should never go anywhere else for a cut ever again. All in all I'm hella stoked to have found a new barber without having to go through the scalpings and botch-jobs that inevitably have to be endured to find one. read more

The shop owner, Tony, gives the freshest cut this side of the Rockies, surpassing even the most renowned shops in San Francisco and LA. I first went to him on a friend's recommendation to get my hair cut for Halloween, and ever since that day, every other shop I've visited has felt sub-par in comparison to Trevino's. The man can handle a straight-razor blade just as well as he can hold a conversation, and he's a great conversationalist. You'll leave his chair feeling great about your hair and yourself. Amazed! Great people at this shop! Very polite and humble! Most barbers now a day feel like they're some celebrities, don't care and will not cut your hair if their is no appointment. I was visiting a friend in Modesto and we went to grab a coffee at The Evil Empire (4bucks) and after we were done, he says, hey....let's pop in to Trevino's and I'll introduce you to the owner. So we went....and he did....and the owner, Tony gave me a card and said....call me if you need a cut. I said thanks & we left. Fast forward a few weeks and I am in the chair with Tony, the owner.....now, I'm a VERY fussy customer when it comes to my hair, I know what I like and expect to have it that way. Tony was friendly, we chatted about music, mutual friends and car shows and all the while he was super attentive to the cut. When he had done, the result was great. Just what I wanted. I went back again today and as Tony was not in today, my hair was cut by Laura. Same attention to detail, super friendly (which really is important) and she took her time and the result was just the same as the last time. Update: momma bear spoke with the owner. He was extremely apologetic and understanding of the situation. Issued a full refund and offered to fix his hair. Definitely still needs to watch who he hires (it was a new guy fresh out of school), but I'm impressed with how he handled the situation. If I could give zero stars I would. I made my nephew an appointment because they have so many good reviews (don't know how). He went in for a fade. First off, he didn't even get a fade. It was all cut the same length. The lines weren't straight, at all! He asked my nephew if he wanted the front trimmed, he said yes, the dude shaved it. And he didn't even care to move his hair (he has a man bun), so when he was cutting the sides he was cutting his long hair on top. Pure laziness!!! The guy who cut his hair shouldn't be a barber. Whoever hired him needs to take a good look into people work before hiring. It looks bad on your part too! 10 out of te would NOT recommend. read more

Serena had great attention to detail, and I can see how that could delay some appointments, but when you want a legit haircut, that's part of the game. They're super friendly and clearly care about what they do. The shop smells good, and is clean. The music was good and played at a perfect volume, something that's usually hard to find.
