My man was desperate for a haircut -- we're going to a party tomorrow -- and called this shop after going to several shops that were closed. Chris set an appointment and did a great job! Perfect fade and nice shave. Chris was friendly and welcoming. Very cool barber shop as well -- it had a good vibe. read more

Worst barber shop don't know how to cut hair bad service very bad attitude wouldn't not go there at all

We were referred to one barber by a close friend and he son recommended Jason. He did an amazing job on my son's cut and left him feeling nice fresh and lined up. We need to get back but life is lifing and we've just been busy. The shop is that traditional barber shop vibe everyone is in their element and the music is great. read more

Haven't went to another barber in 5 years and decide to go ahead and give That One Barber a chance and I don't regret it at all from walking in was greeted and even offered a doughnut at that moment I knew I was in good hands. my barber Jesus was amazing he was super professional, confident and Provided a amazing experience. From what I saw and felt I think honestly any of the barbers here would be a 5/5 stars read more

David did an amazing job! He was personable, professional, listened to me and offered great suggestions. I would highly recommend him and will definitely come to him again. read more

My nephew had his haircut here today and my nephew was very much dissatisfied with his haircut. Instead of the "owner" trying to de-escalate the situation he made it worst. Instead of trying to fix the hair cut the owner told us "we're stressing his barber out, we don't need to pay, and to find a new barber". He didn't even try to fix the hair after my nephew said he's okay with his hair being short he just wanted it fixed. The owner was extremely rude. After the fact of telling us to find a new barber the owner had the nerve to text my sister trying to explain his point of view. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL please don't waste your valuable money on this barber shop. My nephew is 12 he cried the whole car ride about his hair. What kind of owner makes kids/customers feel uncomfortable about how they feel about THEIR HAIRCUT?! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! They won't put the customer first and don't care what the customer have to say!!!! & also to say that what I'm saying is untrue is very unprofessional! Please put the video up of kids jumping on your couch or my sister putting her finger in your face. WHAT A TOTAL LIE! Just because YOU FEEL like the haircut was okay and to tell a 12yr his feelings were over reacted is unacceptable. Then your barber telling my nephew that the pic he showed him was a lie?! And you automatically believed your barber and made my 12yr old feel uncomfortable. This is not a good place of business. I'm baffled and shocked of the total LIES a business owner would LIE about. Very disturbing. read more

Very unhappy with my haircut and very rude people. Also refused to help fix. I do not recommend this place and will never come here again.

First time and last time getting a haircut there. The barber who cut my hair didn't know how to cut hair or listened to what the clients wants for a haircut. Also the barber just gave me a buzzcut and messed up my hair I don't recommend anyone to come here ! read more

Great place. Make appointment. I had my hair cut several time by 2 different barbers. I have been to 3 different barbers in Modesto and this is my pick and I will continue going there. read more

Took my son in for a haircut! I came to this shop based off a recommendation from a friend. We had a walk in appointment and Joseph took care of us right away! We didn't even have to wait. My toddler was a beast and wouldn't stop moving or growling lol! Joseph really worked today but we could not be happier and my toddler keeps telling everyone he sees that he got a hair cut today! Thanks again! read more

Not too many places are open for business to cutting my shaggy mop. Especially during this second round pandemic closures. Today was a blessing in disguise. Between the 111 degree heat here in Modesto and closures of my favorite hair salon, I figure someone had to be open to making business happen again; no matter what stood in the way. Luckily, Yelping "Barbershop for Men" made it happen. Chris at That One Barber Lounge located at 441 McHenry is the Best. The fact that he's from the BayArea solidified the answer I was looking for. He gets it! Chris got it done and kept it sharp. Not too many places can fade as well as Chris did. *Thank you brother! You got mad skills* **next time the beard** read more

My sweetie recently moved to Modesto. I was tasked with finding a barber. Found That One Barber Lounge on Yelp. It's the nicest barber shop I've ever seen! Sweetie went in for a line up to test things out, and he was very much so happy with the results. He'll definitely return for a full cut. The location is nice and spacious. Perfect seating area. The barbers were all nice and welcoming. I sat waiting watching interactions and cuts. All barbers seem to be well qualified for the job. You can set appointments and pay with credit card. read more

I walked in and asked if there was any availability that day and he said yes, near closing time. I schedule that appointment time and once I arrived he was finishing a clients hair but the door was locked. He noticed me after I knocked and completely ignored me, shut off the lights and left. He's lucky I don't go back there. read more

Wish there was a lower than one star option. Don't come to this place. Bad haircuts and unprofessional

Only place ill go to get a cut One of the best shops in Modesto hands down. They got good music too read more

I had to get a haircut and called this place made an appointment a guy named joe cut my hair I was not happy at all I had to go down to the barber school down the stree to get a proper fade that was well blended the right way , lucky me it closes at 8 pm and there was also a very heavy set guy making fun of the guy that cut my hair telling him that he looked like he had Down syndrome and it did not sit to well at all with me since I have family and friends that have kids with down so I will never go back to this place read more

Just walked in on a Friday morning around 10:30am and don't know if I got lucky but was sitting in a chair within 10 minutes. I was cut by Joseph and he did a fantastic job trimming and shaping my beard and shaving my head. He offered a lot of knowledge with areas I was having issues with like beard dryness and I was able to stop by another hair shop in town on the way home that sells the products I needed. I will definitely being returning to this barber but I will start making appointments since I did notice there were a lot of clients. read more

I usually get a taper fade and beard trim here by Kyran and he always do a fantastic job. Just recently I changed up my hair style to a regular fade. I was smiling ear to ear by how nice i was looking afterwards. I have gotten compliments on how decent i looked. Every hair stylist here does exceptional work and leaves everyone looking nice. The shop is clean and comfortable. I bring my 8 yr old son to get his hair done too. read more

Great barber. Recommend Isaac. Took my son to him a couple of times and love the service.

Issac always does a great job on my son's haircuts. I will say they're kinda pricy on kids cuts, but I've tried a few different barbers in Modesto and all have left me unsatisfied other than Issac so it's worth the money. The wait is usually long but if you make an appointment using his website ( https://www.genbook.com/bookings/app/reservation/30387984?bookingContactId=2602268417&category=2560105895 ) you won't have to wait. read more

They advertise kids haircuts outside their shop which is why i decided to take my son there. Well the barber made a line through each of my son's eyebrows while he was doing his line up. my son stays still during his haircuts if he didn't i wouldn't even blame the barber because i seen some crazy ass little kids getting their hair cut but my son likes it. anyways don't advertise on kids hair cuts if you can't even do a line up. When i complained to the owner instead of trying to resolve it he started hitting on me in a nasty thirsty way. They are just so unprofessional read more

Wish i could give this place less then a star so unprofessional I call in say can I walk in or should I book a appointment he says its koo u can walk in just would have to wait like 30 minutes I come in they say they could get me I start talking to a customer then the barber and isaac who I believe is the owner says he is booked up says my other guys can get u so I'm waiting see one guy leave thinking he was just taking a smoke break but he was done and didnt say anything after he say me walk asking for a haircut and the guy that I'm talking tells me the dude he is cutting is the last guy and is going home so I'm like wtf I see how u guys do that's real professional and bounced but the isaac guy says just say u will give him a extra 5 bucks and he will get u u have nice boots so it shouldn't be no problem for u like wtf just cuz I'm dressed nice u want me to pay more then what the actual price of the haircut is lol try this place at ur own risk I just thought it was unprofessional if they didnt have the time just say we are to busy today make a appointment for another day smh read more

I normally am not the one to put businesses on blast but if you go here for a haircut, don't go to Isaac, who is the owner. Dudes a fraud, I stayed loyal to him as a friend and a client for almost 5 years after getting out of the Marine Corps and because I held him accountable for screwing over my 8 year old nephew and charging him 63 dollars for a fade recently. I'm no longer allowed in his shop. He doesn't give a shit about his barbers in his shop or their families obviously if he's gonna be petty and pull the "refuse service card" just because I held him accountable. I'm no longer allowed to go to Jeremy who is a killer barber, who just had a baby because Isaac's feelings are hurt. Shows what kinda business owner he is. 50+ for a fade and he's taking business from his barbers, sounds to me he's only out for himself. I give him negative stars. PS, dudes late as hell on all of his appts. Your life and schedule doesn't matter. read more

I pulled up to the shop for my appointment and no one was there. After an hour, the dude texts me saying to come by which was already not a good start lol. then when i got there i had to wait like 2 hours just to get a cut because he accomodated people that were before me, even though i had made an appointment that he failed to honor. then on top of that i get a fade and he didnt even cut my top like i had asked yet i still had to pay full price lol. dont go. read more

I find nothing wrong with this place. They take the time needed on each customer and my boys like it.

I have been getting my haircut by Issac since roughly 2009 and have yet to be disappointed with his work, customer service and great team he has working with him. I love this hair lounge because of the environment, people and awesome barbers working there. You really feel at home here and Issac is always greeting folks with a smile. Good conversation and most importantly of all, quality haircuts. As Issac would say "come get that fade to persuade." Honestly, if you are looking for a new place to get your haircut or you have just relocated to the area, this place is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. read more

Came Here Yesterday With A Friend & The Guy Said We Were Up Next After He Finished Cutting Some Guys Hair, But After He Finished With That Person His Friend Was There & He Started Cutting His Hair When We Were Suppose To Be Up Next So We Waited & Finally He Was Done With That Guy & It Was Our Turn Again, But Then Again He Said He Had To Cut His Other Friends Hair & It Annoying Cause We Were Waiting For About 30 Minutes & He Kept Saying We Were Next. So We Got Up & Left And As We Were Leaving His Very Unprofessional Ass Yelled Bye Really Loud And Was Being A Smartass & Laughing For No Reason... Just Like That His Immature Ass Lost $50 That He Could Have Gotten From Us, But Cleary He Doesn't Care Much About His Job. I've Heard Bad Stuff About This Place, But Still Wanted To Try It Out, Honestly Regret Even Going There & Thinking About Getting Our Haircuts. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! read more
