This is one of two guys I called to fix my water heater. Noah fixed it for a flat rate and he has the Rheem part in stock. He tells me that ether he fixs it or its free! Do you know what happened?!?! He fixs it for the price he tells me over the phone! The first guy charged me a sevice fee of $85 to come here and talk to me and recommends me to replace my Rheem water heater with a standard one or a tank less one for $3k-$5 everything included. If I do the replacement or repair then he will wave fee. He didn't even look at my water heater and left. So I thought I wasn't gunna get charged since he didn't do anything. I sent him pictures and the model of the water heater before he came here so I dont understand why he didn't tell me this over the phone. So he leaves and calls me on the phone and texts me the bill for $85. Then he tells me I have to call the service number on the water heater (Rheem) give them my info, tell them what's going on, they will tell me what parts I need, buy the parts and he will just chage me for the installation of the parts I buy. My brand new Rheem water heater was DOA. After I installed it, the pilot light would not stay on. Rheem technical support tried to troubleshoot the problem over the phone, said they would send me a replacement part, shipping the next day, and an installer would be contacting me to replace the part. I called back early the next morning to confirm the part was shipped only to find that part was out of stock! The Rheem tech said he would authorize a replacement work order and put me in touch with a local plumber to handle it. This is where Bernard comes in. He's the Rheem man for the South Bay. Rheem gave me the number for Noah's Plumbing (Noah is his eldest son, BTW) and said they would contact me within 24 hours. I IMMEDIATELY called Noah's Plumbing after getting off the phone with Rheem and luckily Bernard was able to squeeze me in 3 hours later. Now how lucky is that! Bernard started by troubleshooting the problem and found the pilot light does light but it doesn't stay on, nor does the blue light in the front of the control unit light up. He could have waited for the part to ship and leave me without hot water for a few days, but since Rheem authorized a replacement, we took that route. I called Home Depot to confirm they had my model on the floor. Bernard detached the unit, put it on his truck, and he and I went to Home Depot to get the replacement. Within 2 hours from Bernard arriving to my house, I had a brand new, WORKING water heater in place. The speed of service was better than I expected. Sure my DOA Rheem tank really pissed me off, but in the end I was happy to be without hot water for only a day. Bernard was knowledgable, personable, and just seemed like a cool dude! He's the owner and the technician so you deal directly with the CEO, CFO, COO, and the guy that sweeps up after the job. No BS. Can't thank Noah's Plumbing and my technician, Bernard, enough for the exceptional service and work he's done to diagnose, fix, and provide information about my water heater. Everytime I've set up an appointment with Fast Water Heater company, it's exactly 15 days until a person comes in. It's absurd and an unrealistic time frame for someone to come in. And when the guy did come in, he didn't even have the part ready. For an hour, he was ordering the correct part and I was left with signing papers proving that he was there. No work was done and I had to wait another 15 days. Decided to call up Noah's Plumbing the same day and he was able to arrive in 20 minutes and he even had extra parts ready. My water heater broke down, it still had warranty so i worked with the company to send me broken part, they scheduled fast water company to come in install it. They said someone will contact me in 24 hours, if not call them, when no one contacted me, i tried calling fast , no one answered. So i called the manufacturer again and they sent me to Noahs Plumbing and Bernard. This time it was great, Bernard came by and installed the part next day. He even had spare parts so he fixed my hot water before the part even got to my house, then he just stopped by to pick up the part later. I got hot water few days earlier. Noah's Plumbing is the place to go for Rheem Hybrid hot water heater repair. Another plumber practically ran away from it when he saw the complexity. If you need warranty repair, ask Rheem straight off to send the job to Noah's Plumbing. These are complicated devices, and it really requires someone who has gone through the Rheem training. Rheem on the other hand will get one star for putting me on hold for 2 hours, not finding a plumber for me, and sending me the part and a repair manual and telling me, "good luck!" My Rheem water heater was under warranty, but when I call Rheem to schedule a service when there is no hot water, they give us a service company that cannot come out until two weeks later. I had a hunch based on the warning signs that I likely had a blockage in the main sewage drain that went out to the street. After speaking with a few plumbers on the phone who weren't able or willing to tackle this task I got in touch with Bernard at Noah's Plumbing. He was on another job when I called but came over within an hour and quickly assessed the situation. Throughout his time at my home he communicated clearly on all the things he was doing, the charges involved and was able to keep my house clean and tidy while dealing with the muck. Water Heaters now require sensors and valves that are computer controlled all in the name of safety and energy savings. I purchased a new Rheem Water Heater from Home Depot that simply wouldn't light the burner. The gas line was fine, the exhaust vent was open but no burner action. Benard arrived from Noah's Plumbing and isolated the problem. He made the necessary adjustments and the water heater burner now lights correctly. How could something like this ever leave the Rheem factory? Does Rheem test each water heater? I assume NO after this issue. Clearly, Benard saved Rheem a sale, period. End of Story. An absolute life-saver! I had a two month old new RUUD water heater fail in my disabled mother and father in law's home and Bernard took time out of his schedule to stop by on his way back from another job to take a look. If you have elderly or disabled family members, you know how big of a problem this can be. In 35-45 minutes Bernard had the problem fixed and we were up and running. This was after a complete meltdown by the original so-called licensed company that installed it last November. They sent a tech out the day before and he said what I already new, "yeah, the pilot doesn't ingite, I'll place a service order with the manufacturer." He just passed the buck off to the manufacturer and said basically "that's all we can do here." If you ever need a new water heater, or service on an existing one, this is your guy. He had the part in his truck, knew what was wrong and found two other things the original company had done wrong on the installation! It is the first time I'm writing "No Five Stars review" Maybe I'm the one had not satisfied experience with him. Nice talk on the phone conversation, somehow his behavior was like "I don't want to take care of your case, it's not my problem." when he visited my house. Minus one star; he suggested anti-legal modification: later I figured out there is the legal requirement. Minus one star: didn't cleanup after checking, set up the temp at the most highest point (which manual states human will get burning in less than 1 sec). Minus one star: "You want to blame someone" "I don't read a manual of water heater" These are sentences he was saying to me. I felt he doesn't want to help me, It disappointed me. Our water heater broke and the guys from the manufacturer I called made us do some troubleshooting steps on the phone and we even called PG&E to isolate the problem. Then I got to contact Bernard from Noah's Plumbing and at just one look, he already knew what causes the problem! Which was of course not the ones that the tech support on the phone figured out. He even gave me 90 days warranty for the repair in case something goes wrong again and I bet it wont happen again. He gave full information and details on what is happening and how is he addressing the concern, and what causes it to happen why it wont work, in a way we can understand.
