Upon entering, we could tell that the restaurant had not been updated in a while, but it seemed to clean enough. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Our waitress recommended the cheesy bread so we got that as an appetizer. We then ordered a pepperoni calzone to split. While we were waiting for our food to come out, we went to the restroom. It did not smell pleasant in there and the floors throughout the entire restaurant were a little sticky. I was highly prepared for our food to come out and look like it had come out of the freezer. However, it was obvious that this food was homemade. And it was freaking delicious. I have not had crust like that since I was a child getting a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut back in the day. They just don't make it like that anymore. Seriously this crust was amazing! And the calzone had so much cheese on it. We could not even finish it, it was so rich. That dough was yeasty, almost like a donut. AND THE MARINARA! I don't usually like marinara. But this had almost an Indian flavor to it. It was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our food here. This would have been a five star if the restaurant, especially the bathrooms had been cleaner. But I would eat here again.

However, due to the food & the wonderful service- I'd definitely come back.

Tried ordering…read morefrom GrubHub because I liked the food I got when I went in a few weeks ago and Papas was advertising on GrubHub. Got the order placed and was happy. 15 minutes later the order gets randomly cancelled - and when I called they told me they were having an issue with GrubHub and I could order on Slice or over the phone. I tried replicating the order over the phone and it was over 30% more expensive than GrubHub! When I told the girl on the phone she literally said "I don't know" - that's it. So I went to Slice and same thing - every item was more expensive and they charged a service charge and delivery fee on top. I'm sorry but I'm not paying almost $90 for food that's $60 on GrubHub when you pull a bait & switch. So I guess it's 1-Star for their delivery experience but 5-stars if you go in? Oh - and for the owner if/when you read this. We are really happy with the food we got from La Piazza Express, which we never would have found or tried if you hadn't made this big mess of things. So this didn't just cost you a $60 order - it cost you however many future orders I might have placed and however many orders Yelp's readers decide not to place after reading this.

We got settled in, and were served a delightful, crisp, clean caesar salad which was a " wedge "style salad with tossed spears of Romaine lettuce, in a very nice tart Caesar dressing. The pizza was fresh tasting, mozzarella and pepperoni, in a well baked Chicago style crust. Being from NYC, I do like the option of a true Marguerite thin crust pizza, but maybe that will be a future offering. We understand that wine and beer will be offered soon, when the occupancy paperwork and other permits are all in order. Exciting to have such a bright, vibrant new restaurant. Thankyou you Jacob Godwin and Janet Doffermyre for creating a new venue. Let's all support it. Linda Monds

I got the seafood pasta dish like I always do but this time the recipe was incredibly different. I was annoyed because I paid for what I always get but this time the seafood tasted like it had gone off. The noodles are normally thin but they were thick this time. The seafood in the pasta tasted like it had gone bad and there was extra seafood in there this time that just made the dish unappetizing. It normally comes with basically just mussels and shrimp, this time, it came with entire little octopus' and octopus rings that normally aren't there. I took a bite of a few different things but everything tasted awful. I'm writing this at 4am the morning after. I'm sitting in my bathroom vomiting my guts up after eating a few bites of their seafood pasta. It tasted like somebody just scraped together the stuff nearing expiration and threw it into my dish. I have been coming here for years and getting the same dish every time. I don't know why they changed the recipe or why they thought that dish was acceptable to serve.
