The bagel itself was just okay, but the double layer of Taylor ham was a plus. They put a lot of love into the inside of the bagel. For there not being many customers there it took longer than expected to get my order. The system for ordering seemed disorganized with people yelling their order over people at the register. I recently stopped at this bagel place before heading to work. They have a nice sized parking lot, which is always a plus when deciding on where to stop at. I just ordered an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and jelly on it. They were very quick in preparing the bagel. Staff was very friendly. Their bagels are pretty good, and not crazy expensive either. Overall I really enjoyed my bagel here. A good amount of cream cheese and jelly they used on my bagel. No complaints. When we lived in Chatham Borough we frequently visited Noah's. The bagels were tasty and seemed fresh but the coffee always seemed bitter and a bit "burnt". The staff here is not very friendly and can get impatient with their customers. Eggs for sandwiches are microwaved, a practice that should only be reserved for fast-food chains. Now that better choices are available in the area, I doubt that I'll return here. read more

If you've never visited Noah's bagels before, you may be surprised to see a serpentined line inside the store, going all the way outside to the sidewalk on weekends. This place has good bagels, and they know it ! However, the drawback is this: they don't wear hairnets! And when someone is hovering over a proper bagel, smearing it with delicious cream cheese (which the have a wonderful variety of) there's plenty of time/room for hair to fall out of a persons head, and onto said cream cheese real estate space. Let's start with the seating. Only two person seats. Annoying because I have a family of four. Who the hell microwaves taylor ham and sausage for there bagel sandwiches? You lose the flavor and texture of the grill. The bagels are too soft and gooey. What happened to soft inside and a nice crust outside? You ask to get it toasted and they run it through an industrial toaster and it is set so fast you get a slightly warmed bagel. I lived in NYC for 12 years and Noah's is 4 on the quality scale. One of the coworkers told me about the remodeling this location recently went through and wow! New renovations are great and so are the bagels! The bagels are ok and the folks working there are nice but...there is a language barrier (most of the staff speaks Spanish and little English) and they get my order wrong 90% of the time (went 3x). Today I ordered a toasted sesame bagel with lox and cream cheese (not a lot) with tomatoes. I got a rasin bagel with lox spread, then they fixed it by scraping it off, putting a pound of cream cheese and some lox. No tomatoes. I ate the cinnamon rasin bagel because I had to go back to work but that is a gross combo with fish. I gave up. read more

Bagels here are amazing. While wheat everything and their mini bagels are our favorite. Bagels alone get five stars. However their prepared foods are less awesome. They don't get the right ratio when putting on their toppings (too much cream cheese so get it on the side). Also microwaving your egg and cheese sandwich is a fatal flaw. Great service if you are polite, not rude, and have a little patience. Best bagels near Madison. My favorites include rye bagel with vegetable light cream cheese for breakfast or a rye bagel with oven roasted turkey and cheddar cheese with macaroni salad for lunch. This shop is on my new route to work, having recently relocated to a new office. Decided to give it a try because while I like my usual spots, I'm always open to giving other places a try. Surprised to see the price of bagels was only $1, because that is on the low side for the current times. Was extremely surprised to pay $4.25 for a bagel with cream cheese. That is ridiculously overpriced, even for Chatham. Chatham Bagel, just down the road is only $4.00 and is significantly better. The bagel was scrawny and the cream cheese was run of the mill...never worth $4.25 ($4.55 with tax). Also a PITA to get in and out if you are heading toward Florham Park or Madison. This place will not be making the normal rotation. Will stick with Craft Bagel in Berkeley Heights ($2.99) or O'Bagel in Stirling ($3.20). read more

Nope, just nope. Who microwaves the eggs in Rubbermaid Tupperware right in front of you?! Same with the pork roll / taylor ham! This makes it too greasy to eat. Unacceptable. Furthermore, there were about 4-6 flies flying above food prep area. The whole restaurant also looked dirty/sticky and in need of a good wipe down. There are other much much better bagel shops right down 124 and in other towns. I will never be back. Also everyone who ordered was asked to repeat their orders 2-3 times while their orders were made. Crazy idea, write down the order and then you don't have to keep asking for clarification. Gets one star only because it's the lowest rating they allow. I cannot begin to understand how this place stays in business with the most miserable and ignorant staff behind the counter. I used my credit card to pay and they take your card and go in the back of the store to use it. The woman said " Can't u pay in cash?" I was totally craving a Bacon Egg & Chee on a roll with SPK after church yesterday. I dutifully am waiting in line when I notice there's no griddle, not flat top, no stove, nothing! How do they make their egg sammies? Then I see it. A row of microwaves. Nasty. So what they do is, they fill a plastic container with egg (I guess) and top it with cheese and meat and then microwave it. Nasty. And probably a health code violation. How many times can a plastic container be microwaved?? Needless to say I got a whole wheat everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. It was good, but I'm never returning. read more

We come home to the Motherland that is North Jersey about 4 times per year. As we've gotten older and wiser, we've taken to staying at the Short HIll hilton which puts Noah's as the closest (authentic) spot to grab a bite in the AM. Perhaps we've been spoiled by the likes of the Millburn Deli and some other fine establishments in North Jersey, but I cannot believe Noah's cooks in Microwaves. Listem, the bagels are fine. But, this is North Jersey, the bagels better be good. This is North Jersey.... and cooking eggs, sausage, and the sacred Taylor Ham in a microwave is not only really disgusting, but it's complete sacrilege. If you're in the market for a bagel and cream cheese, this will be just fine. However if you're looking for a bit more to your breakfast, keep on driving. read more

Horrific service. Went a few months ago and the gentleman behind the counter barely helped me - didn't tell me he was working on my order as I stood there waiting for 15 minutes, let a woman cut the 20 person line, was not even close to friendly, etc. I decided after a few months to go back and try again... it couldn't be that bad again. Yes, it was - another horrific experience. I ordered one bagel and gave them my debit card. I was then told by the gentleman that there is a minimum. That's great - it's literally posted nowhere in the store. He tried to force me to buy a drink, which I didn't want/need. And then charged me $5 for my sole bagel and cream cheese. I work in a place of business with a minimum and I know the minimum is just a guide, you don't have to adhere to it. Also, you have to post it in the store somewhere. I will never go back here and have told all my friends and family to blacklist it. It doesn't matter how good the bagels are - the customer service is awful. read more

Good, but... If I could give this 2 1/2 stars I would. Noah's has a bit of a monopoly in this little town. There aren't any other actual bagel shops close by and since the bagels are good (not amazing) everyone goes here. The bagels are good. They have a crunchy crust and chewy inside, varieties are good, and they change it up and include their own special varieties which can be good or bad depending on your likes (Sorry no rye today, but there is a candied blueberry bagel?). The bagel sandwiches are microwaved though so if you want a real bagel sandwich this isn't the place to get it, but again they are acceptable. Noah's is open very early. The line can be quite long but moves fast, no credit cards accepted-only cash, ATM in CVS if you need it. The coffee is decent. There are some seats but it's not really a place to sit and relax. Get it and go is the theme here. We have a few problems with Noah's though. The help is not friendly. At all. The women who work behind the counter barely crack a smile. The gentleman I assume is the owner barely cracks a smile. I don't look forward to going here like I do with some other local establishments. They don't need to know my name or even recognize me but at least offer service with a smile, even a little half-hearted smile goes a long way. If you ask for butter or cream cheese you will get MOUNDS of it. If you ask for "just a little please" you will get MOUNDS of it. If you ask for your bagel toasted with a little butter, you may or may not find it drenched, dripping in butter which is kind of gross. We now ask for our bagel toasted and put our own butter on at home because it's happened numerous times where the bagel was just so saturated that the crust wasn't even crisp anymore. The other issue with Noah's is they will prompt you to give them your whole order at once. If you are ordering 4 bagels for instance, one toasted one not, some butter and some cream cheese, it's unlikely they will get the order correct. When you get home it's inevitable someone will be disappointed, so if we place a big order we just order our bagels plain and we can toast it and put on our own spread. But not really what I want to do when we stop at a bagel shop. Since this is really the only bagel shop in town, you have to take the good with the bad. The bagel flavors and texture is all subjective opinion, but If there was another local choice we'd probably go there just on the service issues alone. read more

Not the best bagels in the world, but among the best you'll find in the area. They are of a good size, good texture/consistency, and they're made on site (you can see into the kitchen in the back which is cool). They have weekly specials too, such as their famous candied strawberry/blueberry bagels. Cream cheese selection is sometimes limited, and there aren't very many seats, so plan accordingly. It's not too aesthetically pleasing and it's a small joint. Most people seem to just like taking a dozen home from Noah's, although I do sometimes sit in to eat. Their nova lox sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and capers is to die for. I know some other reviewers have mentioned rude/bad service, but personally I've never had a problem. Some of the girls who work there are a bit slow but they all get the job done. My one complaint is that they do not take credit cards. Expect long lines out the door on Saturday/Sunday mornings! read more

So I went to this bagel shop here in Chatham called Noah's bagel. First time here and I ordered my bagel they didn't say if I was going to pay first they just walked away and I was standing around like umm ok? So one employee calls me asks what I ordered so I told her and then I asked if I could have the bagel toasted. Another employee tells me that I was suppose to tell her prior when I placed my order so I told her I had no idea and paid for my food. Needless to say I won't be going here again and definitely don't recommend to anyone that is in a hurry in the morning because there is absolutely no sense of direction there. read more

Yes they are quite an institution in new providence and Berkeley heights and yes their bagels are quite decent. But they serve those premixed eggs in a bottle and cook them in the microwave! So I stay away from here when I am craving for my egg sandwich. They also never write down your orders so be ready to repeat a few times or else you will be missing a condiment from your order. Aside from that they do have pretty decent fish salad spread - not exactly what I typically crave for breakfast but once in a while I do feel like one. Be ready to spend close to $10 for it. With new breakfast delis offering bagels (Daham) in the area I frequent Noah's bagel less and less these days. They do have a few small tables if you prefer to enjoy your meal on site. Save your calories. I always pass this place in the morning en route to work and wanted to try! So one fine Friday I had a hankering for a cinnamon raisin toasted bagel with cream cheese. Off the bat when entering Noah's my spidey senses went off...and probably.bc I'm so damn spoiled from the Wonder Bagel chain by me. But their bagels looked generic, like they were dropped off a truck in the morning. And I honestly dont know whether they make them their or not...but they sure tasted like they came straight from some generic bagel producer. Thats the problem when you find a really good bagel place, the average ones you experience after that point are not good at all. Sigh. 1st world problems. So no, I wouldn't come back here again, if their bagels are any indication of the rest of their menu I'm just not that impressed by this place. Womp. read more

I will not step foot into this place ever again. I never liked their bagels, but they used to be the only place in town. Now that Bagel Cafe is here, no reason to come to Noah's. The owner is a *%#!+bag! Bagels are on par to Lenders, cream cheese is never spread on bagels, but they leave it on one side of the bagel in a big clump, EVERYTHING IS MICROWAVED, they don't have a grill! They also do NOTHING to support our town/school. Not only do they never donate to our school fundraisers, they don't even give us a discount. Bagel Cafe supports all the town/school fundraisers, they are super nice & their food/bagels are delicious! Cross the street & go to Bagel Cafe, you won't be sorry. read more

LOVE these bagels! I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. My go to sandwich is ALWAYS a: everything bagel toasted, lox, vegetable cream cheese (full fat please), capers, red onions, and tomatoes paired with a hazelnut coffee and I am full until dinner! It is the perfect treat after a long weekend run. Make sure to get there early as there is always a line on the weekends. I typically do a grab a go as there isn't much seating. While a bagel is often the make-or-break part of a bagel shop, I have to insist that service plays a big role, too. Noah's Bagels in Chatham has a pretty big selection of bagels that IMHO, Because the bagel shop is close to my house, I often pop in for a breakfast sandwich on the weekend. However, the service experience really brings down the food. Ordering a bagel sandwich generally requires the guest to repeat him or herself several times - a problem that might be avoided if any of the employees would simply write the order down. If you need to order more than one type of bagel sandwich, be prepared to repeat yourself anywhere from 4-6+ times (and don't forget to carefully supervise the creation of your bagel sandwich, either!). Noah's Bagels frequently has a line well out the door, but I tend to believe that the reasons for this are 2-fold: 1) The staff is not efficient and 2) Noah's Bagels is the only bagel shop in Chatham. For what it's worth, I tend to find that the bagels are best toasted - otherwise they're just too doughy in the middle (expecially when they're being used for a bagel sandwich). All-in-all though, I enjoy the bagel sandwiches enough to visit Noah's bagels a few times a month. In truth, my only real gripe is the service - getting frustrated first thing in the morning is never a good way to start the day. read more

Decent bagels- a bit chewy in a not so good way because its lacking bagel snap to the crust. Good, but not great based on NJ/NY area bagels.
