I was a little skeptical when I hired Noah's Arcade to DJ our wedding. He didn't have a long resume, but we chose him based on his personality, and the short, but impressive, list of events/venues he previously DJed (Phoenix Comic-Con, Gypsy Lounge, Fox News, etc). We made the BEST choice when we chose to hire Chris! We wanted a DJ who had a real love for music, and one who wouldn't just play generic wedding hits like "Brown-eyed Girl" and "The Electric Slide." With Chris, we got exactly what we wanted, and much MUCH more.
Chris sat down with me, and told me he wanted our music to be perfect. He told me that, if I wanted, he would make key moments feel like they were scenes from a movie. He accomplished just that--My husband said he still gets goosebumps when he hears the song Chris played for the wedding procession (he beautifully edited the song I wanted so that my entrance was perfectly time)! He requested a timeline for the entire evening, so he could ensure our wedding flowed seamlessly, and there was never a dull or awkward moment. I had very specific requests, and this DJ met each one with a great attitude and a genuine sense of excitement.
Chris also did an impressive job MCing the wedding. He told people where to go, and what to do, and everything went according to plan (he even kept me on time when I was running late for virtually everything!) He kept the evening light, and when it took guests an extra moment to stop what they were doing and listen to his announcement, he made jokes instead of ruining the mood with obnoxious pleading for attention. He was entertaining without attempting to be the focal point of the evening. Frankly, he was perfect.
Even when my venue coordinators told me we might not be able to use their sound system because it wasn't currently working correctly, he took time out of his busy schedule to go down there and FIX the system so we could use it! What other DJ would do that?! (Of course, the venue was over-joyed with the free service.) I was blown away by his commitment to make our wedding perfect! His skill alone would give him a perfect score, but he went above and beyond to ensure we avoided a wedding disaster. For that, we are forever grateful.
I don't usually pay attention to Yelp reviews because I feel that people mostly post reviews when they want to complain about something. I could not, in good conscience, neglect to review Noah's Arcade. My advice to someone looking for a wedding DJ is to just MEET with Chris. He doesn't have the flashy disco balls or colorful lights, but he has his personality, his talent, and his dedication to quality service---And I imagine that, if you asked, he can get you flashy disco balls and/or colorful lights. read more
