We just had our wedding last week and we hired Vox DJs to do the music, lighting, and Photo Booth. The service was great. Good value for price. They walked us through everything and provided a lot of helpful insight throughout the planning process. We had complete control and were well taken care of. Weeks before the wedding we had a FaceTime call with our DJ, Javin Harden, who was so helpful, provided documents regarding the playlist and stages of the event that were extremely helpful. We had a great experience working with him. The photo booth stopped working about halfway through the reception and stopped printing the pictures, but they assured us that the photos will be saved and sent directly to us following the event. Not ideal but it was a good compromise and better than nothing. Overall, we absolutely loved using Vox DJ's and would highly recommend them to anyone for weddings. read more

I do not recommend Vox DJs based on our experience. We hired them for our wedding and worked specifically with DJ Will. We spent months planning, had multiple consultations, and provided detailed documentation outlining the exact order of events and song selections especially picked for our ceremony. Unfortunately, the ceremony music was a disaster. The wrong songs were played at the wrong times, songs were repeated, cut off, and there were multiple moments of complete silence. My husband walked out to the wrong song, the bridal party music was never played, and there were several awkward pauses while our coordinator was texting DJ Will to try to get him to play the right song. I even had to wait to walk down the aisle because the correct song was not being played. This was one of the most important moments of our day, and it was completely ruined. my mood right before walking down the aisle was anger. After over a year of planning and trusting a professional vendor with such an important role, this level of disorganization and lack of execution was extremely disappointing. We did not receive the quality of service we paid for. Even after reaching out to Diego their account manager he ghosted me twice for a phone call that was scheduled to discuss what happened. From the Dj to their admin this was a terrible experience, I couldn't say anything positive. Don't have your wedding ruined or your money wasted. read more

Wish We Went Elsewhere We are extremely disappointed in how our experience with Vox DJs ended up going. When reaching out for a quote and inquiry questions the responsiveness and customer service were good. We booked and were assigned a different DJ than we had selected since that one had been released by the company for failing to show at 3 events. We were grateful for the switch and had a full planning sheet we had filled out, and then went over in a zoom call with the new DJ. That is where the good part of the experience ended. The day of the wedding we were told the DJ would arrive with enough time to set up and be ready to begin music at 3:30 as we had discussed while our guests were seating. At 3:50 the DJ came to us not wanting to set up his equipment due to a slight drizzle of rain. We finally had guests offer to use umbrellas to cover his stuff and began the ceremony 15 minutes late. After pictures we gathered the bridal party for the grand entrance and then were holding while he located his phone. We were behind schedule and only continued to get further behind. We had put on our planning sheet and discussed having a shoe game and when the time came the DJ stated he had not prepared any questions so we had to scrap that. After dinner as we were mingling we also had an empty dance floor and at no time was there any real open dancing. The end of the night was supposed to be a last dance while guests prepared for a sparkler exit. The DJ forgot about this and had begun to tear down equipment and then took an unreasonable amount of time to get the song to play where I wished I had played it on my phone. After sending an email to express our disappointment we were told that there would internal dialogue to figure out what happened but we never did receive follow-up. For the hefty price we paid, paying for a higher level DJ, and how the interactions began to how it ended we wish that we could redo this part of our wedding. Save yourself the money and find a better company. read more

I reached out to a number of DJs when planning my wedding, and Dave Watkins was quick to respond, answered all of my questions, and helped me to customize my plan to get exactly what I wanted. I thought it was really cool that you get to select what DJ from the company you want to work with, depending on the package level you choose. After reviewing the DJ's profiles on the website, I selected Darron, aka DJ GQ, and I'm so glad I did! Darron was very detailed and attentive, having taken detailed notes during our meeting to ensure he knew exactly what we wanted, who was who and who was doing what, and helped us curate playlists for each part of our wedding. I felt confident going into our wedding day that Darron knew exactly what type of music to play as the night progressed and knew exactly the cues for each different entrance. We hired Vox for our wedding earlier this month and were unfortunately very disappointed by a series of easily-avoidable mistakes that ruined parts of our wedding. We attempted to reach out, and their response entirely shrugged off our concerns. After one email exchange, they stopped answering us altogether. While they were the most expensive of the choices we considered, we decided to hire their most expensive "Elite DJ" package based on their assurance that they were the best and would have everything planned and prepared for well ahead of time. We were unfortunately very mistaken. Here are a few of the issues we experienced: 1. Our DJ was not able to get the groom's lapel microphone working before the ceremony, which caused a 15 minute delay in the start time. Even with the backup wired microphone, the audio failed during the reading of our vows, causing nothing to be heard. 2. When the bride walked down the aisle, rather than playing Canon in D, our DJ played the beginning of an electronic dance track, causing the entire room to burst out laughing. It had no place in the moment and completely ruined one of the most important parts of the wedding. 3. We gave our DJ a list of only 9 "must play" songs with instructions that those MUST be played during the reception, which he assured us that they would be. They were not. 4. We opted for the most expensive $1,600 lighting package, which we were reluctant to do but ultimately decided on after extensive assurance from Vox that it would add an amazing effect to the dance floor. What we ended up getting was a pretty bare-bones setup with a few colored lights that added nothing to the experience. We reached out to Vox after our wedding to share the above concerns, of which the mistakes during the ceremony were particularly egregious. At the very least, we hoped for any form of apology. In response, we received a short note from the Vox business manager indicating that he would discuss with our DJ and get back to us. When we reached out again for an update, his reply entirely ignored most of our concerns and only contained this: "Regarding the songs, [our DJ] said the list was longer than 8 songs. He said he saved most of them for the afterparty but feels he played the songs on the list." That was the entire response that Vox felt was necessary to address ruining our wedding ceremony. They stopped answering our emails after this response, so we were unable to discuss any further. Unless you're comfortable with gambling on not having a similar experience, I'd look elsewhere. read more

We had a wonderful experience for our organizational fundraising event last Saturday night with VoxDJs. Our DJ for the evening was Roya and her assistant was Keaton. Both did an excellent job and kept the evening flowing and lively all night - which was no small feat as the crowd varied from 30 y.o. to the 80s! The "Silent Disco" we had, along with continuous background music made the evening fun and a big hit with everyone - the Silent Disco allowing for people to dance the night away while others were at their tables visiting without being overwhelmed by loud music. The party started with DJ Trego from the moment we met him. Our planning meeting with him convinced us that his energy would keep pace with the type of vibe we wanted for our wedding--lots of drinking, lots of dancing, lots of being over the top... being extra. There was no shortage of that from Trego. We've been to other weddings where the DJ/emcee makes it the ME show. Trego had a great balance between that and we really appreciated how he was mindful of this. He was able to work our crowd throughout the evening- rewatching some videos, you could hear his voice do an intermittent "HEYYY" and other angles, you could see him dancing in the background. His energy was consistent and you never felt like he was trying to rush through this gig and get out of there. He wanted to make sure you and your guests were have an amazing time. A week before the wedding, we asked Trego to facilitate a game which he did seamlessly (it was a hashtag photo contest). Not only did we end up with a lot of photos/videos of our wedding but it got people excited for the prizes we had in store. When we went through the rest of our timeline, he knew exactly what we were talking about and executed everything perfectly. Vox DJs helped by providing some standard music that helped us figure out things we hadn't thought of yet (processional, cake cutting, etc.). That was very helpful in narrowing it down. We provided pretty much all the songs for each part of the wedding but gave Trego free reign on adding other songs he thought would amp people up. By the end, people were coming up to us saying that was a great mix of music. People were on the dance floor as soon as it opened and were there until we got kicked out. All of the photos of people on the dance floor and you know Trego hit it out of the park. When all was said and done, I told myself- I need to be friends with this guy because he's just too fun and really, that's the type of DJ you should be hiring for your own wedding. DJ Breezy absolutely killed it at our wedding! During the planning, he was just the nicest guy! He was completely willing to meet with us and get to know who we are and the vibe that we wanted. VOX Djs and DJ Trego was honestly one of the best and easiest decisions for our wedding! I was recommended to use VOX Djs from several vendors as well as my cousin who is a wedding planner and I cannot say enough about how awesome they were! I actually researched and talked to several other Djs, but looking back, I don't even know why because VOX has everything you need. They were fast, attentive, and really knowledgeable. But the icing on the cake truly came when DJ Trego entered the picture! He was just as excited for our wedding as we were, which made it so much fun to discuss music selections. He truly ends up being like your best friend/hype-man like from the moment you meet him even until after your wedding. We got SO many compliments on the music selections and the DJ after our wedding. He was funny and energetic and not in an awkward-has-too-much-energy-for-the-room cheesy kind of way (which was one of my biggest fears of having a DJ). We found out about VOX DJs since they were one of the preferred vendors on our venue's list. In fact, we saw them on a ton of preferred vendors lists! One of the biggest things when it came to our wedding was that we wanted really good music and someone who was capable of reading the room and getting the party started. We've been to so many weddings where something went wrong or you'd have one really good song playing and then something completely off right after and the dance floor would just clear out. After our initial consult, we were given a few choices on who would best fit our taste in music and the vibe we were going for. We listened to the mixes on their website and ended up going with DJ Trego. BEST DECISION EVER. We didn't meet him until it was closer to the date, but my now husband (!!) and I loved him right off the bat. We actually met him at the tasting/open house for our venue. He magically knew who we were (after just one rescheduling phone call!) and was so energetic and fun that we walked away thinking "This is gonna be good." Every meeting/e-mail/phone call after that was professional, fun, and relaxed! He listened to all our wants/needs about music. Initially, we felt like we wanted to control the playlist, but after meeting him, it turned more into a "we trust you." Our trust was not misplaced! I don't think I've ever had so many people ask about a DJ during and after the wedding! I think the most I've heard in general is either a DJ sucked or was just...okay. Not DJ Trego! EVERYONE raved about his energy (he is the best hype man you could ever want) and how he kept the dance floor going. A ton of our friends said that there wasn't a single bad song that night. (I may be biased because it was my wedding, but I definitely agree!!!) We wanted a mix of pop/hip hop and throwbacks and he wove them together perfectly. It was definitely one of those nights where you yell "OH MY GOD" and proceed to dance and karaoke all at the same time. You are definitely getting so much value for the price with VOX DJs and I think DJ Trego alone is worth one of those crazy Powerball jackpots you go in on with your office pool. read more

Fairly disappointed with my experience. I got married last November and had DJ Kaos be my guy. At first I was very excited to have Vox DJs be apart of my big day because of the raving reviews I read. However, the initial booking was the only thing that was positive during the entire process. Once booked I obviously didn't hear from anyone in the company until my date was closer. Two months to my wedding day I received an automated email requesting to set up a meeting with my DJ to go over everything. I responded and heard nothing back for weeks. I reached out and called because I was running out of time and I finally got in contact with my DJ. However my DJ was very unprofessional with times of communication, we ended up having our meeting to discuss songs at 11:30 at night over FaceTime. Day of event he was fine, but did not go out of his way to make sure the crowd was energized and entertained. I heard a handful of complaints by close family members and even my bridal party of my DJ not being the nicest when they went to request a song. He was nice to me, but even my husband said he did not go out of his way to make sure my husband was happy. I also gave him a list of songs to 100% play during our 11:30 pm meeting and he failed to play a handful of them. Overall disappointed, however I must say the customer service from the company themselves were great and professional- unfortunately it was just the person who actually attended the wedding that failed at my expectations. read more

So 3 weeks before our wedding, we were told we had to pick a different DJ due to covid issues. I was soo upset and worried bc to me, the DJ is one of the most important things at a wedding. So we ended up picking NICK TORRES for our dj and let me tell you, he was AMAZING. We met with him to go over everything and he literally planned out the entire reception for us. I didn't have a wedding planner, and he literally told me "think of me as your planner." During cocktail hour, he was running to get me appetizers! He made the night run so smooth, and no one ever left the dance floor. This review below is for DJ Trego: I'm not a cheap guy, but I like to get my money's worth. When I met Trego at VOX DJs I was immediately impressed with how personable and likable he was. We discussed prices and I knew that there were cheaper DJs out there, some of which I had seen at previous weddings and had enjoyed both their music and their ability to keep the party alive. Trego came highly recommended from a friend, so in the end I decided to spend the extra cash and give him a shot. Long story short: Trego was amazing and worth every penny. Hands down the best wedding DJ I have ever seen. Something about Trego's energy gets people excited and ready to party (And you will pick up on that vibe the first time you meet him). We just got married 2 weeks ago and Dave Watkins was our DJ. We couldn't be happier with the job he did! As the expert, Dave did a really amazing job of guiding us and telling us what works and what doesn't while giving us the flexibility to make it our own. We had two specific songs we wanted to use for our processional that needed to be timed really specifically and he did it perfectly. He even worked (in secret) with the MOH to put together a song clip to end her speech, which made it so incredibly special! The rest of the evening was the exact vibe we wanted based on the direction we gave him. I have had him at a few of my personal events, and for the anniversary party for my non-profit MYEL (Mujer Y Emprendedora Latina). This is a shout out to "DJGQ" aka Darron and vox djs. We planned our own backyard wedding with 75 people which by nature is super super stressful. And when we picked Darron I wanted to make sure that he was going to play the correct music ; I was scrutinous because my sister that had gotten married two years prior had a dj (with a different company ) that didn't play a single song they asked for . We also have a very eclectic taste is music . Darron took the time to be persistent to meet with us and make sure he had all the info he needed and guide us on what we needed to do.
