Girl About Town was so much more than just someone coming in and decorating. Girl about town…read more(especially Vic the person we worked with) was a support system for my girls and I. We all know that traveling as a woman can be a little nerve-racking. Having Girl About Town changed that for me. It was like I was flying into a support system. She checked on us throughout our trip and even when we landed back at home. I felt like I had a local person that I could contact at any point if I needed anything. The weeks leading up to our trip, Vic and I spoke many different times. She made sure I knew everything that they offered to make our trip one of a kind. She pointed us to local restaurants that I had no idea existed even in the last three time I've visited New Orleans. On top of the beautiful decorations, amazing charcuterie board, games, and special treats. She came back to the Airbnb after we left for home and cleaned the whole place. What a blessing especially since we had to leave at 8 AM and wanted to enjoy our last night. I would also like to say Skyer and Vic made sure we had a stand to hang the decor on because the whole building was brick. (I'll post a photo of our last night with the Beautiful balloons still hanging up after 5 days) even the ones on the brick stayed! She kept sending me timely updates & remained in the budget I had set. She truly did an exceptional job. But what truly was the "cherry on top" for me was what she did outside of our contract. I clearly got her for cake & dessert table alone, she didn't have to do her magic at the reception table. She didn't have to help me with my last minutes things. My children went to a party at a classmate's home this weekend. The lego themed decorations and party activities were much more professionally done and more creative than anything I would ever have the time or ingenuity to pull off myself as a mom, even with all the Pinterest inspiration in the world. From the giant oversized legos for the kids to play with to the lego jewelry craft station that kept the boys and girls all entertained. My kids had a blast. Three employees - one at the cafe reading a book, two at the front - one on the computer and one on her phone. No one actively cleaning up after the kids or wiping anything down. Also suggested it's best for under 3 yr olds. Not much for slightly older kids 3-5. Older kids get bored easily.

The play offerings focused primarily on concrete storyline/role style activity, owing to the very concrete toys and stations. It was cute, but my daughter loves more open-ended style play and the one slide they had got squeezed with traffic. The space was also a bit small for the amount of children using it at once. They seem to be in a learning curve but others seem happy with it so maybe it's just personal preference. I do want to restate that the staff were pleasant.
