I…read morewas slightly nervous (it is the dentist office after all) and excited to visit Dr. Chui's office as he had so many positive ratings. It took 1.5 months to get my first introductory cleaning + x-ray exam due to him being so busy. But, I now understand why he is so well-liked and highly requested. The dental hygienists and staff were so welcoming and friendly. They made me at peace the whole time. Somehow, my hygienist was able to clean my "6-year old" teeth in 1 hour... I could feel and see the difference instantly! It was amazing. Dr. Chui is a warm, friendly and thorough dentist. His office is equipped with the latest technology. While I was lying in the chair, I was able to see the exact teeth he was referencing and talking about via a large computer monitor hanging from the roof which was connected to a livestream camera... so awesome! Dr. Chui was able to show me on the screen where a cavity was forming and how I was grinding/clenching my teeth down. I could clearly see the uneven borders and enamel and even hairline cracks in my teeth through the screen images. I assume I have been doing this for years but Dr. Chui is the first dentist to go out of his way to educate me on this. While there, I even decided to purchase a custom-mold dental guard. This product is offered by Dr. Chui's office. Dr. Chui had two options to choose from and even insisted I purchase the more economical option to see if I utilized the guard enough before purchasing the more expensive one. He was upfront, honest and not "pushy" in any regard. In two hours at Dr. Chui's office, I learned more about dental hygiene and my own teeth structure then I had learned ever before. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Chui and his staff to anyone in the area looking for a well-mannered, thorough and friendly dental office.

With my first crown with Dr Valchuk replaced the drill bit at least once cutting of the bad crown. I have had newer crowns replaced before and most dentists just push down harder to cut it off the base. Dr Valchuk wasted at least one drill bit on me without hesitation she replaced it once she noticed it had gone bad. Ive had many crowns replaced and never witnessed any dentist replacing a bit during a procedure. I was impressed. Bridget seemed to have a weird change in appearance when I was in the office the beginning of the year. Bridget a couple of years ago was very mean to me and when filling out an invoice got the year wrong. She did fix it when pointed out to her. There is some bait and switch game going on with the appointments available online for booking. Two appointments I booked online were cancelled immediately and one when I called the office they gave some clearly a lie for the reason. For my recent appointment that was cancelled, I booked another online for an evening hygienist that was not Sam (Sam has a bad attitude problem) and I called the morning of the appointment and my hygienist appointment with the part-time hygienist was not available. When I told Bridget (office girl) I will be writing a review she offered me an appointment that next day, but that is not okay. When Lindsay and Bridget (office people) got me very angry two years ago, I wrote a review. And Dr. Kantor left a voice mail message and asked me to delete it and asked what I wanted in return for deleting it. I did delete it then, but it did not seem right to accept his offer for something in return, and I did not ask for anything in return. However, I will not be deleting this review. I give Dr. Kantor 4 stars and hygienist Sam 3 stars. Sam can do the job but seems to have severe attitude issues. The office seems to have a policy the first time you are seen or the first time with a hygienist to get good service but after the first time the service declines. And the office has a high turnover. If you book online, be aware of appointments listed that aren't available and complain about bad office staff. And please read other 1-, 2-, and 3-star reviews.

I have always felt the hygienists have been great. and Dr. Kazak is always quick but personable. As others have said, I never felt like I was being sold on any procedures especially for stuff that I did not need. I do appreciate the complimentary fluroide solution that they apply after the cleaning to ensure tooth health. They also have been super accommodating for fitting me in even with a last minute change in my schedule. When you go for the first time, it may be a hard to find as it is a little tucked away and shares a parking lot with a church. However, I have not had any issues parking in front to the office. Overall, I would recommend checking out Ross Valley Dental if you are looking for a dentist in the Marin area.
