I have always felt the hygienists have been great. and Dr. Kazak is always quick but personable. As others have said, I never felt like I was being sold on any procedures especially for stuff that I did not need. I do appreciate the complimentary fluroide solution that they apply after the cleaning to ensure tooth health. They also have been super accommodating for fitting me in even with a last minute change in my schedule. When you go for the first time, it may be a hard to find as it is a little tucked away and shares a parking lot with a church. However, I have not had any issues parking in front to the office. Dr. Kazak is the best dentist I have encountered in my 70+ years as a dental patient. My only regret is that we were called away from the Ross Valley to Rossmoor. Dr. K has the best staff I have ever worked with. I loved his office, which was always quiet and serene; entering the office was like a portal to a quiet woodland in the middle of a fairly busy city. Always beware of an office of chrome and glass; this indicates a high overhead for dentists who would recommend a bridge when only a small cavity repair was required. I rarely encountered another patient in the office because his scheduler was a master at timing arrivals of patients. The office had a quiet hum of activity, and I never heard noise from other rooms. His hygienist assistants were all so very good at carrying on one-sided conversations while I was unable to speak. Dr. Kazak is a highly skilled artist/sculptor of teeth, the hardest working dentist in the North Bay; if a tooth can be saved, he is the one to make it so. He helped me with several implants and general dental maintenance for several years. He is indeed a "keeper" worthy of your trust. Let me start by saying I'm terrified of the dentist. I have been all my life. Walking in, I was transparent about that, but my hygienist, Cindy, was amazing. She explained everything she was going to do, was constantly checking in, and wanted to ensure I was comfortable. Dr. Kazak was great and I joked he couldn't retire on me (my last dentist did). I will definitely be back and am grateful to have done my research and found this office. I wasn't told I needed extra treatments and when I inquired about Invisalign, Dr. Kazak didn't try to sell it to me or anything. Dr. Kazak is terrible. Insisted I needed treatment on a tooth that had no pain and caused me substantial pain. I went then went in complaining about it 4 times and he kept dismissing it. I then had To go to another dentist to get help with my pain. Dr. Kazak also insisting I needed a crown on another tooth, but my new dentist said that was completely unnecessary. Everything was amazing ! They fit me in for my first visit because of major tooth pain . Ended up that I needed a root canal which was misdiagnosed and ignored from my previous dentist . I spoke with Gina on the front office several times about making an appointment for my wife and I. My wife is a trans woman, so having correspondence with her that uses her preferred name is incredibly important. She assured me this would be no issue and I understood that correspondence with our insurance would need to use my wife's legal name (while we are in the process of having her name changed.) A week and a half before our appointment, my wife received a text using her deadname. When I called the office to ask if that could be corrected, Gina let me know that it would mean she would need to manually change it on the text system and "that it is impossible." I asked her for clarification, as it sounded like it was possible, but she said it was impossible. She said again that it would be impossible. I told her this was disappointing, as it was something she said she was able to do originally. I let her know we would be looking elsewhere and while I looked for alternative dental offices she called our insurance to confirm my wife's deadname and leave me a voicemail letting me know that she was right and my wife's deadname is on file with our insurance (which I had originally spoken with her about and I was aware of.) Very disappointing. I cancelled our appointment and went with a dental office in San Francisco that would be better suited to provide the customer service we were promised. read more

I chose Ross Valley because they accept Met Life Insurance and because of their many great reviews. I wasn't disappointed. I was treated with kindness and respect, and hear this; I find Novacaine the most painful part of any dental work, so avoid it if I can. Dr. Kazak did two fillings without and I never felt any pain, none! If I could give more stars I would! During this crazy pandemic time, I have never felt more safe and comfortable in an environment that required me to remove my mask to have my teeth cleaned and examined. Dr.Kazak was patient, thorough and beyond friendly. He made the dreaded trip to the dentist enjoyable and pleasant! The rest of the staff are fantastic as well. Gina (the office manager) is super sweet and follows up quickly both by email and phone. Cindy (the dental assistant) is also super thorough and sweet! The COVID protocols here are fantastic. You are greeted outside for your temperature check and screening and are led directly into the room where your dental exam/procedure will occur. You are given peroxide to swish around and asked to wash your hands. The staff are all outfitted in proper PPE and the office is super clean and comfortable. Aside from the safety and kind staff, my teeth never felt better. Dr. Kazak did a full cleaning, polish, gum pocket inspection and exam. He was very detailed and didn't rush. At past visits in different dental offices, I have never spent that much time with the actual dentist. It was a much appreciated and welcome change of pace! First, I have to say I HATE dentists. I suffer from TMJ disorder and have experienced a lot of pain at the hands of rough dentists. Sometimes I can experience pain for a month after a regular cleaning. But, my worries are a thing of the past with Dr. Doyle. He immediately wanted to learn more about me, my pain, my brushing habits, my life and stressors, and he began to formulate a treatment plan to help address the tension in my jaw. He is unbelievably knowledgeable and really cares. I also like that he loves to chat-- he doesn't mind taking 10 minutes to learn about your day and who you really are as a person. He has a good sense of humor to help ease your anxiousness about sitting in the chair. His wonderful front desk staff, Gina, and his hygienist, Cindy, are excellent and really capable and fast. I have to preface this by saying: This isn't a 1-800-Dentist commercial. OK. So I hadn't been two a dentist for two years. I graduated from college, left my parents dental plan, and then, despite now having had insurance for the last year, didn't do anything about it. I've never had a cavity. There's no tooth pain. Why should I go? Plaque and tartar. Oh, and some more plaque and tartar. Right, that's why. 45 minutes after the wonderful hygienist Shoichi began painstakingly (though pretty painless for me, all things considered) removing said plaque and tartar from my teeth, he finished. (It was somewhere around minute 25 that I apologized to him and promised to floss all of my teeth every day.) He gently berated me for not flossing better and for not having seen a dentist in so long, but then gave me a lesson in how to floss (very instructive!). Dr. Doyle personally warned me about his Irish wit. He needn't have bothered--it's great. He checked my gums (which, after all of the plaque removal, were a bit sore) and made sure I didn't have oral cancer--I don't. Anyhoo, I was so pleased with the whole experience that I promptly made an appointment for exactly six months later. I like Shoichi and Dr. Doyle so much that I really will feel guilty if I don't floss and brush properly every day. read more

I had my first visit today with Dr. Doyle, or as he said it, our "first date." I haven't seen a dentist in about a year, so it has been long overdue. The staff here are very friendly, helpful, and sweet. I was greeted this morning by Trina, who helped me through all my paperwork in the matter of minutes. My appointment was a simple oral exam to see what work I needed to have done. Dr. Doyle is an old white guy with a dry sense of humor, which you would think I'd be uncomfortable or feel awkward with, but on the contrary, I actually really liked him. Why? He TAUGHT me things about my teeth and oral care. He really takes his time and explains EVERYTHING to you, slowly and steadily. You can really tell that he knows what he's talking about because he gives you many options and scenarios. And one of the most appreciative things I took from my first visit is that Dr. Doyle didn't shove a decision down my throat. He gave me different scenarios and options with different price estimates to best make a decision that fits my life. Once the exam was done, I made a follow up appointment with Gina, who is a sweetheart. She went over my insurance coverage with me and took the time to break everything down. When I had health insurance, my teeth were always clean, never bleeding gums. Then, after being self-employed for 13 years, even though I kept up my brushing and flossing, my gums began to bleed. Recently married, I have health insurance through my husband's work and immediately he sent me to Dr. Doyle (He thinks Dr. Doyle is fantastic!). Dr. Doyle and his team cleaned my teeth and within a week my gums stopped bleeding. But here's the clincher. I have been going to the doc since I moved here in 1991. Since that time I've been able to have complete confidence in my dental care and the health/appearance of my teeth. Even with the off-color jokes (I give as good as I get) he's a great guy, great dentist with a great staff! I guess the real moment where I knew that he was "the man" was when I needed a root canal on a broken tooth, and it was Christmas Eve. He came in and did it by himself so that I wouldn't be in pain over the holidays. Now THAT is the kind of service you don't see these days... service that he and his staff do all the time. They even work with your insurance and flex plans to make sure that your benefits are maximized. So if you need a dentist, he's your guy!
