Wow! Great customer service, wonderful job cleaning and very responsive to online request for a quote. Just before the stay at home order in Michigan we needed the house we are selling and the apartment where my mom is temporarily living cleaned. Because we've never used a cleaning service in Michigan before we had no idea how to find one. Yelp is my go to for so many things and it's been great for other projects on the house so I used the request a quote feature and found No Limit. The house was a full job with everything needing to be dusted and the bathrooms needing a good post construction clean up. They were able to come on short notice which was a huge help. The also did a great job a couple days later at the temporary apartment. My mom was coming home and we needed the apartment to be totally disinfected so it would be safe for a senior in this COVID 19 world. We hired Alton, the owner of No Limit Cleaning and Flooring, after asking lots of questions and having a written guarantee that if something did not turn out, he would come back and fix it. My husband and I have done many home renovation projects and knew the questions to ask, and we also know the process of redoing floors. To start, Alton and his wife were friendly and came across like they knew what they were doing. I confirmed the project and let him do his work. We wanted to support a small business. Alton sent us photos when the project was complete and we were very excited about how nice the floors looked in the photos. So, we paid him. We were not able to walk on the floors for another 24 hours, but when we returned to the home, we were immediately shocked by how much debris and dust was stuck in the varnish. In every room, across all of our floors was dust and debris stuck in our new floors! Not only were we extremely disappointed in the finish of the floors, but as another reviewer mentioned, there was a centimeter of dust in every surface of our home. This is something I asked him about ahead of time. I have in writing that he has a low dust sander and he would not leave dust behind. At this point we were upset about our floors and we needed to wash every wall and surface in the home before moving in. (The Home was perviously professionally cleaned) . We called Alton and spoke with him. He was polite on the phone and agreed to meet us to go over the work and make it right. So, my husband took a day off of work and waited at the home for Alton to not show up. We have given him many chances to fix his mess, he has not. Please read for the explanation of the two stars. We hired Alton to refinish our floors. When we met with him, he was very friendly and professional. He is also a veteran like me so I was super stoked to have him do the work. We were in the middle of a move, so we scheduled him to do the work while we were out of town. He kept us updated and sent pictures of the floor both before and after. The floors look amazing. The work is very thorough. Now for the reason behind the two stars. After arriving home, we were able to look at the work a little closer. We noticed that the trim all around the floors was destroyed, like, not just paint, but scratched. This wasn't just in one or two minor areas, it was around the entire second floor. Also, the house was COVERED and I mean COVERED in dust. I expected a little bit of dust because it is sanding but it was covered. Lastly, they flushed what looked to be sanding residue down one of the toilets and completely backed up our sewer line. The first two problems (trim and cleaning) are easily taken care of and could easily be remedied by Alton and his company. With that being said, it can only be remedied if they actually respond when asked about the topics. I think that was what made it the worst for me is that as a fellow veteran, I would expect that he would at least text back or call saying sorry and offering to fix the problems but he didn't even do that. No response, no call back, nothing. I recommend Alton and his company to do the work, just make sure you inspect the work prior to making your payments as it seems based off the previous reviews that the work is only done satisfactorily only if you are there to make sure. This husband and wife team are complete frauds! My experience with them was absolutely horrific! First they come in sounding like they know what they are doing. They quoted me a price to remove my old flooring and install laminate flooring. Only after they got their first payment did they magically decide they no longer needed to pull up my old flooring, but instead they were going to float the new flooring onto the old flooring (way less work, no change in price). This was one red flag I decided to ignore. On the first day of flooring installation, they sent me a photo of the flooring butted up flush to the tub. I asked them why they did this as it is common knowledge that there should be some space to allow the floor to expand. They brushed my concerns off. On the last day of installation I decided to go to the house to look at their progress and what I saw was a complete nightmare. They cut jagged, uneven cuts in my flooring. Didn't remove thresholds or trim but instead made horribly cut flooring that left an awkward terrible looking space between the thresholds, trim, and flooring. Then I discovered they damaged two walls and nailed trim to my bathroom vanity in an attempt to hide their jagged cuts. To top it all off, the shoe molding was poorly cut, cut and glued together in weird spots, and didn't cover the entire area that they were attempting to cover. When confronted, they ran to the house, got their equipment, and scurried along like roaches. These people are the epitome of a trailer park trash woman meeting a ghetto bum teaming up to hustle good, hard working people. Avoid these scammers like the plague!!!!!! read more

Super disappointed and feel very taken advantage of and echoing exactly what a previous poster said. BEWARE of this company. We hired Alton to refinish our floors and were not around a lot of the time because of the dust and noise. When we got back to the house, the floors looked ok but after we paid him and were able to walk on the floors, they were coated with little pimple-like texture all over the house. We had two other flooring companies come out and they said the job was done incorrectly and that the previous guys let dust get into the finish which created a very rough texture throughout the entire house! It cost us $2800 more to get it resanded and smoothed out. The entire house was covered with dust and when we asked Alton about it he said "cleaning is an extra fee." It's evident from the previous poster as well that they don't do any sort of dust mitigation (and if they do it's clearly not enough as the dust seeped into the finishing material). Just like the previous reviewer, when I expressed my concern, Alton changed his phone number, stopped texting/calling. He even said he'd be by the house to fix it at a certain date and time, I took work off, and he never showed and turned off his phone. Almost every single person in my family is military and we went with No Limit because we didn't want to use a big flooring company and wanted to keep it local, and support local vets. The work isn't rocket science. You sand the floors, then CLEAN UP the dust, and paint varnish on. I've done two other floor jobs and didn't see anyway they could mess this up, but they did. So now I have no idea where Alton is. He has blocked my number and all we wanted was for him to come back to smooth out the floor as it's a disaster. I haven't brought up the "smaller issues" (sloppy varnish application caused varnish to run down the stairs and stain the moulding, forgot to do the walk-in closets, even though we were charged for them, left cigarette butts all over the property, left all their trash on the side of the house). Please check google reviews and facebook for all of the photos. Hoping no one gets taken advantage like we have. We will recoup some of our money as we have a pending lawsuit against them now and have a million photos, videos and afidavits from contractors but that's not the point, whatever happened to standing by your work? read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. BEWARE of this company and there shotty work. They came and resurfaced my boyfriend's hardwood floor in the living room in early August. It looked really nice at first but since you can't walk on it for 24 hours you can't really inspect the work. After we were able to really look at it we could see the bubbles in the top coat and there were bristles of the brush they used in the top coat. There were also sharp parts of the wood floor sticking up they missed when they sanded the floor. He called/texted them and Alton said he would come out and fix the issues. Before my boyfriend saw all the issues he made an appointment with Alton to then finish the rest of the floors. Alton and his wife were supposed to come to the house on Sept 8th and never showed up. We have been calling and texting all day with no response. Sad thing is my boyfriend paid for the entire service but it never got completed. Now he is out the money and have to find someone else to finish the job. After reading other reviews sounds like Alton changed his number. Makes me wonder if anything that came out if his mouth was true. read more
