Ray did a professional job at a great price. When I first met Ray, he showed me his portfolio and talked with me about options and pricing. His initial quote was very aggressive. Because the job took less time than he anticipated (which I would have never known had he not told me), he charged me less!!! I fully recommend Ray. The apartment was painted very well, and he is honest. I fully recommend working with him! read more

Ray is a very honest, dependable, trustworthy, and skilled painter. We highly recommend him, and if we ever need a painter in the future Ray will be our first call. read more

My Wife and I were referred to Ray by a co-worker. We called him and chatted for 20-30 minutes, discussing everything from his availability, the size of our place and his overall recommendations on colors from experience. In order to ensure the highest quality, Ray even came over to our place prior to begin painting our condo. He wanted to get a feel for the work load and estimated duration it would take to complete but also didn't want to waste anyone's time under or over quoting via phone. We thought that was a nice personal touch and appreciated the extra effort. Ray even got us a discount on our paint via his connections at Benjamin Moore. It took Ray three days of sold work to get our entire condo done. He even went out of his way to teach me "proper painting" technique. What a great job too and the price is unbeatable. Highly recommended, you will love the quality. read more

Fantastic work! Ray finished three rooms for us one day earlier than projected and went above and beyond. He patched spots we didn't even notice were there and even repainted our ceiling to make sure it looked perfect without charging extra. After all that, he even picked up an extra can of paint for us so we could do touch-ups as needed since we would be moving furniture and possibly bumping walls. I've been told that between great price, quality and time frame with a contract job, the best you can hope for is two out of three. Ray proved he delivers on all three and takes great pride in his work. He is the best! read more

Ray is truly a rare find in the tough world of contractors. My husband and I bought a condo in the South Loop that needed some work, so we dealt with our fair share of contractors. I found Ray nearly two months before we started work on the place. We had a lot of uncertainty and schedule changes, and Ray was very cooperative and accomodating throughout this time. There are a number of qualities that make Ray stand out. He's RELIABLE. He's the only contractor that would CALL US instead of us having to hound him down . He's got great work ethic, he's respectful, and he's extremely hardworking. Also, his word is gold. He' always came through when he said he would. In an industry where it is so easy to take advantage of unsuspecting customers, Ray has tremendous integrity. For any paint needs at all, look no further. I'd strongly recommend Ray--he's the real deal. read more

Ray was hired to for a one day project that required much attention. He estimated one day, and completed the job in about 10 to 12 hours. Ray followed all of the condominium rules, and was very friendly with everyone. Highly recommended. read more

Ray was a nice guy and did a great job. He went above and beyond with patchwork and the end result was great. Ray definitely was transparent about work and over-communicated his progresss. His work helped sell our place fast! Having relocated out of Chicago and working with other painters, we appreciate his services that much more! read more

I asked Ray to give me an estimate for work to be done in my condo. He drove down the same day and gave me his honest opinion of the work that needs to be done and what the correct process should be. He also was upfront to say that taking in all the circumstances the job was not something he could take on at this time. Even though I am not utilizing his services he is someone that I would recommend based on his honesty, knowledge and respectfulness. read more

I hired Ray and Dougie to paint two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen at my apartment. They arrived promptly at the scheduled start time on both days, which showed they are responsible and value my time. Both of them are nice guys and produce professional grade work. The edges where the wall paint met the white ceiling were neat, clean and straight. They respected my home and cleaned up after themselves. Ray even called after I paid him, to follow-up with me and confirm that I was satisfied with the job. I wouldn't hesitate to refer them to a friend or hire them for a second job. read more

I strongly recommend Ray to anyone who wants to get the paint professionally and carefully done. He's very experienced at what he does and always do the extra work that is totally beyond my expectations. When I bought my new house and looked for a good painter to help me on the walls, I asked quotes from several painters who all get great ratings on Yelp. Ray simply blew all the others out of water in terms of pricing and the hours he quoted. He initiated the conversation and assured me that everything will be professionally taken care of, especially the after-work cleaning. After several calls and a in-person meeting, I decided to hire him without any hesitation. It was the first time that I ever owned a house so that I was very nervous. My girlfriend and I kept changing the scope of the projects, first two rooms two colors, then two rooms three colors (one of which is for an accent wall), then back to two rooms two colors, and finally three rooms three colors. We first only wanted him to do one day, but after deciding to do three rooms, we realized it's simply not possible to do all of them in one day. Ray didn't hesitate for one moment and agreed to do one more day. The drama came in after four hours the next day. We were shocked to see how ugly and shiny the color that we chose for the master bed. It was definitely a disaster that we couldn't imagine to live in for one minute. We discussed with Ray. He was just so considerate that he suggested we should decide a new color and he would come back for a third day to repaint the whole bedroom! He is simply the best! Needles to say, the final result of this constantly changing project is great! We love the quality of the paint, the professionalism of his work, and the carefulness of his treatment to our home. During the third day of painting, he even pointed out that there are some susceptible water leakage on the ceiling of one bedroom. He reminded me to talk to our inspector to get better understanding. I certainly didn't expect that kind of attention to details! We will definitely hire him again on any paint job when it comes up. read more

Ray recently painted a couple bedrooms, a bathroom, some closets and a few walls in our living room. He did an excellent job and we are very happy with the result. He was reasonably priced and we could tell he was passionate abut his work. We now know who to give a call to first when we are in need of more paining. My only complaint would be that he actually showed up EARLY to work so I lost some sleep...but, really, showing up early beats the alternative any day. He will make sure you are happy with the work he does and is very thorough. Give him a call, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Ray!!! read more

So, I found Ray through his 95 "Five Star "reviews on Yelp. Well, all the reviews are right and I'm adding the 96th Five Star review. Ray is a perfectionist, did an awesome job, gave me a really good deal, and I couldn't be any happier. He answers all his calls, was pretty straight forward with his work, showed up on time, and completed the paint work with 100% perfection. I will use Ray again and refer him to my friends and family. read more

Ray and his crew recently painted my four story townhome in North Centre and they did a great job. Ray came out on Saturday and gave me the quote and they started the work on Monday. They finished on time and on budget. They were neat and courteous and thorough. After the job was completed and paid for I noticed a closet door that they accidentally forgot and Ray came back and painted it right away, no attitude, no questions asked, just excellent customer service. I highly recommend them. read more

Ray is great. We were putting on a fresh coat to sell our place and the color was too dark. He advised us to lighten it before we started painting. We changed the color at no additional cost and it looked great. Highly recommend read more

We purchased a recently rehabbed home and the colors that were chosen were horrendous. Looked at different painters on Yelp and found Ray. He had suffered and injury when I called and was not available, went on with our search but I kept telling my wife that I really liked Ray's reviews. Boy are we glad we waited for him. He did an amazing job, our home looks completely different, he is professional, friendly, reasonably priced and one heck of a painter. We will ONLY use Ray for any future painting projects and will recommend him to anyone that needs a painter. read more

Ray gave a great price and did an awesome job painting my living room, dining room, bathroom, and bedrooms. He texted pictures of the progress and stayed in constant communication during the job. I would definitely recommend Ray! read more

I wish I could give him a higher rating, but in good consciousness, I can't. A friend of mine gifted me a small job from him, painting a window sill. What should have been a quick, little project, turned into a several week project, filled with missed appointments, total blow-offs, no phone calls, etc. And the job still isn't finished. A window sill! Use him at your own risk. Very unreliable, and not recommended. read more

My girlfriend and i had Ray paint our ceilings and walls recently and he did a terrific job. Not only that but he did it at a very affordable price. He was very friendly and respectful of our home. We wont use anyone else but him for future projects. I would very easily recommend No Games Painter to any of my friends & family. read more

Rey did a fantastic job painting our new two-bedroom condo! Not only did he do a great job covering every bit of our textured, stucco walls; he also painted our built-in cabinets inside and out and painted the molding. To top it off, he charged us less than he quoted us, was super patient as we tried 10+ colors before finally picking, and was just an overall good dude to chat with that I felt comfortable having in my home. Don't hesitate to book with No Games Painter! read more

We just bought a new house, and wanted a couple of rooms painted. Ray was great, and very flexible. We didn't know the exact size of the rooms at the time he agreed to do the job (because we hadn't moved in yet), but Ray was willing to give me an estimate over the phone. Then, we he saw the property in person after we moved in, he was very honest, and actually offered to lower the price! I really appreciated the honesty! Also, Ray managed to track down the paint colors we needed. One of the colors had been discontinued, but Ray got the paint store to match it for us, so we got the exact color we wanted. And the paint jobs look great. We were very, very happy with the way the rooms look, and even happier with the professionalism and honesty Ray brought to the job. Would definitely recommend! read more

I spoke to Ray from No Games Painter who said he'd come right over, and he DID. Ray gave me the estimate and start date right away. Very reasonable. Beside being a great painter, he's a really nice person that made everything go smooth. read more

Ray did an amazing job painting our nursery this past weekend. He was super reasonably priced, very professional and took great pride in his work. He definitely wants to make his customers happy. We would use Ray again in a heartbeat. Thank you! read more

My family was in a time crunch to paint two bedrooms in our new apartment before we moved in. I turned to Yelp for painter reviews, and stumbled across all of Ray's great feedback. He is everything as advertised and more. The quality of his work was wonderful and he was very professional. He took care of ordering all the supplies for us, and sent pictures as he was painting. He even checked with us after we moved in to see if we needed touch-ups free of charge. If we ever decide on colors for the rest of our apartment, we will absolutely be calling him back. read more

Ray did an EXCELLENT job painting my new condo! He was very professional and came out to look at the condo before giving me a quote. I was unclear about what paint to purchase and he wrote everything out for me. I was even able to get his discount prices on the paint! It was a big job, as I was getting my entire condo painted. He quoted me for three days, but it only took 2.5 days! Ray was very thorough, neat, and my new home looks beautiful! I fully recommend Ray to anyone looking for an honest, reliable, professional, and reasonably priced painter! read more

I hired Ray to paint my living room and hallway and he did a great job. His quote was also significantly lower than others I had received. Ray was always on time and always answered his phone. He knocked the job out in the time quoted. Ray was very professional and I would use him again without a second thought. read more

Ray is not only a very skilled painter; he is very professional, thorough, and transparent throughout his work process. Each day, Ray was very communicative about the progress which was made, what he planned to work on the following day, and was always sure to ask if I had any questions or input during the process. He is very accommodating when it comes to all of the preparation work, leaves his work area very clean when finishing in a room, and, overall, takes great pride in the work that he provides. He provides receipts for all materials and, at the end of the day, makes sure that you are completely happy with your newly painted walls and ceilings. If you are looking for an honest, skilled, and friendly painter with strong attention to detail, look no further than Ray. read more

I used Ray recently to paint my new condo I purchased. I wanted to paint my living room, kitchen, and spare bedroom before I moved in. Never having hired a painter previously I didn't know what to expect and Ray was very thorough and explained everything throughout the process. He came right away for an estimate and gave me one on the spot that ended up being one of the best that I got. He takes pride in his work and made sure everything was done perfectly. He even brought over new outlet covers for some that were missing when I bought the place. He didn't need to, but he did because he will do anything to make sure you're happy. If you're looking for someone who will be very communicative and honest throughout the process he is your guy. I would get text updates with pictures each day and phone calls checking in and letting me know when he'd be there the next day or seeing how I was feeling about the process. I was very happy with the work that he did. read more

You gotta call Ray for your painting needs. I've used Ray three times now for paint jobs around the house. He charges a fair amount and does a great job. If there something you don't like or needs a little extra attention he'll come back no charge to make it right. Cash only. read more

Ray painted our dining room and two bathrooms. The bathrooms had water damage and required a lot of work and the dining room had cracks that needed repair. I hired Ray to paint my condo. It was definitely a tough task because the people who lived at my place beforehand painted the place with bright colors with textured walls. I wanted to go neutral and found Ray through google searches. Not only did he give me a very fair price for the entire paint job, but he was extremely punctual and helpful throughout the entire process. The apartment looks great and I would definitely hire him again! He took two days to paint my 600 square foot condo. He even called me during the first day to give me a LOWER estimate because the work was going to take less time than he had originally quoted. That is extremely honest and moral, especially when I had already agreed to the higher quote. Ray also called and texted me pictures of his work throughout the day. He is truly an honest, fairly priced, great painter - I would recommend him to anyone. Kayley read more

Ray is a great painter with a strong sense of client service. He quoted my job lower than I expected and was able to start the next day. He did a great job keeping me up to date on progress and the walls turned out perfect. He even came back later to touch up some work that wasn't part of the original quote. I would strongly recommend him! read more

So great. Ray was super efficient and professional in my home, even taking time to show progress and final photos of his work. Super respectful and a flawless job to my spare bedroom! read more

Ray was excellent and I would recommend him to anyone! From the moment I called Ray, he was responsive, professional, and committed to great service. I have high standards, but Ray definitely earned my recommendation. I have no doubt that he will earn five stars from everyone. For starters, Ray is responsive. In the past, I've had people just not respond or agree to come by for an estimate and then disappear. Ray gave me an estimate the day after I called and then worked within a deadline to get the job done. Second, Ray made the process painless. He dropped off a color wheel so my wife and I could look at samples without having to go to the paint store. Once we selected the color, he picked up the paint and supplies and was able to get a discount. He was generous enough to pay for the ceiling paint out of his own pocket. Third, Ray worked hard and stayed until the job was done perfectly. When he realized that we'd need a third coat of paint (instead of the two we'd initially estimated) he rushed out to get it and didn't charge me for it. He also did extra patch work at no extra charge. When he was about to head home, we noticed and uneven part of the paint on one of the ceilings (Ray didn't cause the problem, it was due to an uneven surface). Even though it was late and he was walking out, he didn't complain or make some excuse. He grabbed his tools and fixed the problem immediately. Fourth, he made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction and went the extra mile. We asked him to patch a few areas throughout the house but we didn't have the right paint (the paint can was old and the paint had lost its color). Ray went out, bought the necessary paint and came by on his own time to finish the patch work the next day! Ray makes sure that he puts the customer first. He works hard to earn your business and then makes sure that he gets the job done quickly and properly. I would definitely recommend him to any person who needs to hire a painter. read more

Ray SAVED us! We bought a new (old) house and got in over our heads trying to refinish floors, paint, ect. ourselves. I called Ray on a Friday which turned out to be his birthday, he was out to the house in no time, gave me a fair price and got to work Saturday and Sunday before we moved in on Tuesday. On top of his supreme customer service and skillful work he helped me find a handyman to address some other issues with the house. He also came back a few days later to do some touch ups I didn't even notice or ask for. You won't find a more honest person. Ray is the MAN! read more

From the first phone call to set up an estimate to the completion of the project Ray was informative, courteous, and very thorough! His initial quote not only beat the other painters we contacted but he was spot on with the amount of paint we would need and other various supplies for the project. It is abundantly clear that other painting companies in Chicago pad their quotes with absurd supply costs because the average person doesn't have any idea what is needed for a job! He completed our job, by HIMSELF, in less than 3 days and other "crews" said it would take between 3-4 days with 3-4 painters which leads me to believe you are paying for laziness and laborers that aren't in it to work! I will definitely refer Ray to anyone in need of a painter who will come in quote and complete the project as it should be done! He's going to be a part of my home painting needs for years to come! Thanks again Ray, you are truly a master of your craft! read more

I was searching yelp for a painter for my one bedroom condo. After recovering from the shock of receiving a quote of just under $5,000 from Thompson Holiday Painting I continued looking. Words cannot express the pleasure and perfect work of Ray No Games Painter. Ray picked up his phone the first time I called. He came out to give me an estimate just a couple days later. Ray confirmed his appointment even calling me on the day to let me know how far away he was from my place. He showed me a photo book of his excellent work. I was immediately impressed. Beyond that, he took a look around, told me how long the job would take and wrote down all the materials I needed. Unlike the other painters, he gave me an estimate on the spot. Ray also passed along his discount to me on all materials. The other painters took at least three days to give an estimate. Ray sells his labor direct which is why the price is so fair. Not only is the price easy to swallow, the work Ray and Doug did was outstanding! The job was also completed in less time than estimated. It was a pleasure to have Ray and Doug in my apartment. His arrival was consistently timely. He even called me every day to check on how I thought the job was going. My place was left tidy and the floor was swept after each days work. After the painting was completed Ray and Doug rehung all my paintings and put all furniture back in place. I can't say enough about Ray's excellent work, honesty, fair prices and cool demeanor. Look no further and hire Ray No Games Painter. read more

Ray is a true Chicago character and a gentleman :) 3 years ago he painted my entire condo (a rental property now) top to bottom and did a fantastic job. He even cleaned some paint off the floor that previous tenants had left. He's my go-to! read more
