This sheek lounge at the Shelbourne hotel in Dublin, Ireland may have you swooning if you are into oysters and an upscale ambiance. My husband tried a few oysters and loved them although food off of the regular menu such as salads, chowder and burger were just average at best. This lounge was listed on Good Food Ireland, but the food did not live up to expectations...I think it is on the site for the star of the show, oysters. Service here was fantastic and attentive, some of the most stellar service in Ireland by far. We tried: Galway Oysters 5 stars, beautiful presentation Seafood chowder 4.5 stars, lots of fresh seafood, wish the cream base was a bit lighter ceasar salad 4.5 stars, enjoyed by my husband beet salad 2 stars overly oily and inedible, waitress kindly took it off of the check burger with fries 1 star...horrible taste after one bite I was done, fries were not good either but husband finished the rest

This place is always jammed but often manage to nab a spot. Sometimes not so lucky. Good place to visit for a drink before or after dinner or to while away an afternoon. Service can be a little slow so don't come here for a quick drink.

Usually, the dining room comprises an underground hideaway that is quite sleek and intimate. However, due to the lockdown measures, we had to do outdoor seating directly on William Street while we were there. The experience was still beautiful, thanks to the surrounding scenery. The cocktails were grand between the P61 Signature Cocktail and the Hugo -- both prosecco-based cocktails. The former was delicious between the peach puree and prosecco, while the latter was a little more tart with the elderflower cordial. For dinner, we kicked things off with gluten-free bread with a trio of dips that were quite tasty. The Tortellini I ordered was exquisite and scrumptious with how it was prepared between the goat cheese, asparagus, red onion, wilted spinach, cream sauce, and bacon. I applauded this lovely dish with the last bite. I devoured the warm almond flour brownie for dessert, served with chocolate sauce and gelato, which my wife could also enjoy since the dish was gluten-free. Overall, Platform 61 was a great way to conclude our second Irish journey. We will return, especially to enjoy the underground dining area.

The ambiance is very nice as well, romantic but also good for a fun night out with friends. 10/10 recommend adding this to your itinerary for dinner!

My first thought was "who comes to Dublin to go to a wine bar?" but my first thought was totally wrong. I absolutely loved La Cava! It's such a cozy intimate restaurant. It gave me lots of West Village (NYC) vibes. Be careful when looking for the restaurant because you can walk right by it, It's a little place right off of Grafton St. It's also located downstairs! Such a hidden gem! We did the 3-course pre-fixe. The burrata was amazing, so fresh! The service was excellent. You were given plenty of time to enjoy your food without being rushed for the next course. The duck was perfect, and the lamb was delicious. For the dessert, the creme brulee was grand. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this restaurant. The prices were reasonable! I highly recommend having dinner here if you're in Dublin. Note, the restaurant is small, so you'll be sitting very close to other people. Personally, this didn't bother me, but some people might not love that. But be aware, that they don't accept AMEX!

I was by myself so I sat at the bar. Just a few seats and quite cozy. Perfect!! Had the pleasure of Jon taking care of me. Started with a sparkling rose' while looking at the menu. Decided on the 2 course Prix Fixe. Chose the mussels and then the fish duo. Of course had to have wine. I honestly can't get enough of this place. Can't wait to return!!
