Both restaurants had similar "ok/fine" service that was not super patient or friendly. The food was overall good but most dishes could have used more toppings); for example, the mei fun, udon noodles and fried rice all had a rather unbalanced ratio of rice or noodles to vegetables/protein. The only one flipped the other way was the dish ordered off the specials menu. The ramen was not bad but I probably wouldn't order it again because it wasn't authentic; one plus was that it didn't make me feel super thirsty afterwards. They do have lunch specials but only on weekdays. The ambiance was cleaner and better than expected from looking at the outside - they made an effort with the decoration to make it feel Asian like, even if not super modern. Parking was easy and shared with other establishments.

Walking into Grub, I had a good feeling and I wasn't disappointed. If you're looking to share small…read moreeclectic bites, you'll find plenty to like. This Asian fusion spot in a nondescript plaza has a large menu with a lot of small plates/street food, baos (with varying fillings), tacos/quesadillas/tostadas, curry, traditional Asian dishes, poutine, burgers, noodles like pad thai and plenty of veg-friendly items. We most enjoyed the chicken empanadas (generous filling, good flavor), cod tacos, and vegetarian spring rolls. The tofu lettuce wrap didn't have a strong flavor even though it seemed to have a lot of sauce. The beef Jerky (a bit tough and chewy) and vegetarian dumplings were okay, but not favorite items. We didn't order any items that were larger portion and it's very easy to rack up the bill with $9-12 small bites. Inside, you could forget that you're in suburbia because this place is pretty trendy. There's artwork and words on the wall and the menu tries to be clever (succeeds in some ways but not necessarily to grammar snobs). There's a 3% surcharge for credit card purchases. There's a Chinese food restaurant and Taimoca coffee place in the plaza as well.

Yeah I agree with comments on here about how this place looks and as for service, I agree with some comments but I will give them, they very accommodating when I ordered for myself and someone else and found out last minute they wanted garlic sauce in there meal, so I asked for a cup of it and they supplied without issue or charging extra. I ordered the triple delicacy combination and it was very good, plenty of pork, chicken and jumbo shrimp was a fair amount I was surprised. Sauce was great, not too spicy or salty. Veggies the usual decent. White rice was bit different since it seemed to have a butter aftertaste like it was cooked in it, nothing wrong with that since sometimes it's done, but first time I experienced that for a Chinese take out over other restaurants. Overall a decent meal.
