To say I love the food would be an understatement. The care the chef puts into each ingredient and the creativity is off the charts! The menu constantly gets little tweaks but the favorites remain like their amazing lilikoi cheesecake and perfect falafel. This year they added a lions mane mushroom BLT which has officially just become my new favorite sandwich. Also, no sad produce used here. I really think I could be vegan if all my food tasted this good.

My vegan brother introduced me to Niu Life when he was picking up food, and I was instantly hooked on how filling and healthy everything was. There were a good amount of options to try, but the sandwiches were my personal favorite and one that I'd recommend if you get to stop by their place in Wailuku - Miguel Morales Photography

Yay a healthy plant based place (ooh try say that 5 times fast!) in wailuku! I ended up here because one of my girlfriends posted about it and told me I would love it here! I couldn't find the menu anywhere (and I'm all about knowing exactly what to order before I go anywhere haha!) so I was gonna be in for a surprise on what to get for lunch! The space is on the left side in the promenade building, as soon as you walk in, it's to your left. On the other side of their wall is probably Gianottos (yum!)! It's directly across of shikedas (also yum!). I didn't know what to get so I ended up getting 3 things - the katsu sandwich, tofu balsamic salad in a jar, and the falafel wrap. There is a fridge on the left side of the space with those 3 items I bought plus a few other items. There is also a display case showing a bunch of deeelicious cakes. I brought my 3 choices home for my husband to try and he is mr. Meat eater but he enjoyed the food I brought home! Definitely stopping by here again! If you're familiar with wailuku town, parking is not super great so if you can find any stall nearby, you can take a nice walk over here. Super convenient if you work in the area!

A happy accident -- this place mighty but small vegan kitchen is tucked away in a larger MAPA center/food court area. Upon my hesitation, the lady at the counter was super excited to explain that everything is gluten free and dairy free, since they use coconut substitute. I got the lilikoi cupcake and wow the tart fruitiness was a a perfect balance with the creamy coconut batter. However, the cake filling itself was a little dry. Maybe I came too close to closing (4pm with most other flavors running out) but the bottom was dry and stale. If they had perfected the cake part it would be a very close best vegan cupcake I've had status but the cream was so good everything else was easily dismissed :)

I'm not Vegan ... but I like to try different things and I must say .. the Ulu hurricane fries are delicious!! thick fri fries , sauce is good and they give a good amount !! Ulu is much more nutritious than potato and the taste is similar. Have gone 3x for the fries . Today I tried the falafel - scrumptious !!I I give this little hole in the wall deli all my five stars

A little vegan gem tucked away in a food court. Tip: Give their Coconut Teriyaki Sandwich a try. You've never had anything like it, and it's delicious! During our trip to Hawaii, we went on a quick day trip to Maui. Looking for some brunch/lunch offerings, we found Niu Life Kitchen here on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Niu Life Kitchen is located inside a "food court" (first one on the left immediately upon entering the building) but when we got there right after they opened at 10:00 on a weekday, they were the only ones open (and it wasn't particularly clear to us which of the other venues were actually open for business at all, or closed simply because it was too early in the morning). This place is a hole in the wall and very unassuming, and they have a wide variety of desserts. On the day we visited, they had three items on their lunch menu, so we got two of them (the "tempeh katsu sandwich" and "coconut teriyaki sandwich"). The tempeh katsu sandwich was quite good. Very filling, with a mayo-type sauce and slice of fresh tomato that made this sandwich come alive. I don't want to use the word "moist" but let's say it was the opposite of dry! Roll up your sleeves; it could get messy in a yummy way. The coconut teriyaki sandwich though, was the big surprise. I wasn't really sure what to expect, so I asked the staff person to describe it a bit more. Essentially, they take mature coconut meat and broil it with a teriyaki sauce. It's then combined with grilled onions and an aioli. The greens were a load of chopped romaine, and the whole thing came on a garlic focaccia. The staff person explained that it didn't "have that coconut taste" so I gave it a try. SO glad I did -- this thing is mind-blowingly good! My only disappointment is that I have to go to Maui to order another one! Before we left, I thanked the staff person and told her how good the sandwich was. She explained that the chef owner, who had over 20 of experience in the restaurant industry, came up with this sandwich idea. Kudos -- you've got yourself a winner here! If you ever find yourself on Maui, take the extra time to go to Niu Life to get yourself one of these teriyaki coconut sandwiches. Heck. Buy two. One to eat there, and one to enjoy later!

Really nice people run this place! Helped me pick out the perfect desserts to try. We ate a mango/ raspberry and a chocolate cheesecake. These folks must be wizards because these were the best cheesecakes I've ever had. They are vegan and gluten free too. The restaurant is out of a small, open air food court. Plenty of seating and had a nice cross breeze.

You'll find a gorgeous array of fresh, organic, mostly Maui-grown fruits and vegetables, packs of cut fruit, baked goods made in-house, a juice bar/deli (very popular at lunch time; order ahead if pressed for time!), and all the canned, frozen, refrigerated, and packaged items you expect in a natural food store. There's also a great bulk section, where you can dispense your desired amount of various nuts, grains, snack mixes, coffee beans, etc. The supplement section is well stocked and features a good selection of protein powders. There's nothing special about the deli food anymore. Most of it looks the same, trays of mushy food that are either dried out or they're out of half the items. I went in for soup today and all three soup containers were practically empty and burnt at the bottom. Most of the deli food looked dry and like it had been sitting there way too long. I went upstairs to eat and the dining area was really dirty too. I'm not sure if there's new management or what, but this place definitely needs a serious boost, and fast.

I've been using this service for a few years and overall had a good experience albeit not perfect…read more I recently complained that items were being cancelled on a weekly basis. All of these items were in high demand and since this a first come first served service made me question why this was happening as I always order right when the hub opens .Since then they haven't cancelled anything in my orders however both my subsequent orders have been unpleasant. Last Saturday I had a soaked through box and when I opened it the kombucha I ordered was on its side and had leaked all over everything and was half empty. When I removed the bottle I discovered the cap wasn't tight and when turned sideways it had a slow drip. Today's order again had all the items however you can see the state of the two avocados received. The lettuce was sold as a "living lettuce head " for 4.65 It's the size you would get at Lowe's to plant. It's unfortunate because there are really good purveyors who are selling their goods on this platform but unfortunately the management of this place seems to be less than adequate.
