Anyone who had ventured out in the open will know about Niterider. I have been using their lights for over 20 years now. The lights are effective and bright. As a cyclist I need to see and be seen. Any hoot I had purchased a Lumina 700 from the local bike shop almost two years ago. For those who aren't familiar it's a bicycle light that features a lightweight body that can be mounted on the helmet or handlebar mount. When mounted in either fashion it remains rock solid. It has four levels of brightness and during the day you can use the flash mode so that you can be seen by oncoming traffic. What I like about this light is that you it's rechargeable and one can charge it with USB cable. I was planning to ride and decided to charge my trusty Niterider Lumina 700, I was unable even after leaving the unit plugged overnight. I had given up and was ready to purchase a new one but i decided to call the customer service department. I told them what my issue was and the gentleman on the phone said that they warranty their product for a year and if it was not under warranty that there will be a $10 repair charge. Additionally he mentioned that if I had the receipt they could fix it free of charge since it was less than a year (so it was 11 months and 28 days old since I went to the bike shop and got a copy of my receipt). I dropped off my light and they mailed me my repaired unit. Kudos to exceptional customer service and they back their products. Rest assured that I will be sticking with Niterider for my lighting needs. Keep up the great job Niterider! read more

Lumina Pro 1200 would show a full charge but ten minutes into ride down to two out of four bars on lowest setting. Received a replacement but two months later same issues. Miles from home on the road in the dark with no lights is not fun. Lost all faith and will search for a more reliable brand. read more

Their older style lights have an array of problems. Will work some days, won't work others. Their newer products don't have these issues but trying to maintain anything that is outside of their CURRENT line is pretty futile. Their current light I have works great and I have to have it on board to make sure if the other lumina 600 decides to die out, I have light. Side by side comparisons from older to newer models. Lumina 600 and Lumina OLED 1100 output what looks like close to the same... Granted one has two lamps and the other has one. Still, if you want to keep their gear on board, be ready for the possibility of having to ditch a good light because of a product line update. Still 5 stars read more

The first reviewer was nice giving four stars. One is enough. Two is being nice. I am nice so I posted two instead of one. I bought my light a few months ago. First time out is failed. Being frustrated, I had my worst fall ever. Banged my head so hard I momentarily passed out and am scarred for life. Since this outfit has (now had) a pristine reputation I recharged the light and is seemed OK. I ran the charge down and recharged the light. However this time I tested it at home before trusting it. In five minutes later it shut down on the low power setting. I gave it another test and again is shut down in five minutes. Well I thought this was a top notch outfit and I sent it in for repair. Today they called and said nothing was wrong with it. I told him what happened and he informed me that he is not a technician and would have it looked at again. I have a Trail Rat that's been in use off and on for the last eight years. By off and on, I mean mostly off. Lately I've been using it more though and am delighted to find that the battery is still in great condition (considering it's just been sitting around for the most part). The lamp in the fixture is as good as ever and boasts a sturdy connection. Unfortunately, somebody thought you could twirl the fixture around while carrying it attached to the battery (they subsequently spent much time considering the fine structure of The Corner) and broke the wire feeding the fixture. Sadness! But, lo and behold, the company is local and so I took it in for repairs. Sure enough, it was a broken wire and they had it fixed in no time for around $15. What a deal! I was so impressed, I bought a couple of Cherry Bomb taillights; now I want a new headlight for my child's bicycle, too. Quality products from a San Diego company. Yeah! read more

I had a light that burnt out in my dual beam light from NiteRider. I took it to NiteRider as I live in San Diego. On Wednesday I asked that they try to fix the light by Monday the following week. On Thursday I got a call and was told they would be replacing the light. I picked it up on Thursday afternoon. It is perfect and I appreciate companies like NiteRider who back up their products. NiteRider builds a bullet proof light. I ride my mountain bike pretty hard in the day and at night. I have not had problems with my lights before now and when I did they stepped up and fixed it. I heard all great stories about customer service here but mine was not so great. I have an old 650 that I had to send in for the repair 2nd time - I was told the $20 fee - that was fair. Niterider discovered a broken wire/failed solder and told me that I had to pay for the repair after having received no update for 2 months, I had to call to find out what's going on. The unit keeps on failing and they do not seem to care about the customer's predicament of not having a working light for as long as they keep them and certainly is not extending the care that appears to have been provided to others. read more

I have a 7-year-old Trail Rat that I use for night commutes. My ride was stolen in January. Luckily, I recovered it about a week later, but some things had been stripped, including my light mount. I wrote NiteRider customer service and they mailed me a new mount free of charge. I've been very happy with the light and the free replacement was a huge bonus. read more

I bought a set of lights from NITERIDER, about a year ago. I noticed the tail light to be on. I never tired it on. I attempted to turn the light off, but the switch wouldn't work. The light stayed on. I opened up the case, and discovered that the batteries it came with had leaked. I removed the batteries, cleaned the inside as best I could. When I installed new batteries, the light wouldn't work. I called NITERIDER customer service. I explained my problem to the specialist. Expecting to get a lot of grief, and being accused of lying to them, he gave me a heart felt apology for the failure of their product. Additionally, the only question he had for me, was, "what is your address, so I can send you a free replacement?" I almost hit the ceiling. When I called, I had my credit card at the ready, prepared to pay. Now that's customer service. I just wish I would have written the persons name down so I could commend him. I guess I was in shock, to have such an excellent customer service team helping me. It's a real pleasure to do business with a company like that. The charging system on my Nite Rider Pro 600 suddenly stopped working after ~3 years of ownership. Nite Rider did a good job of talking to me on the phone about the problem and suggested that I bring it in for diagnosis since they are local. They were able to fix the problem within 24 hours at no charge (done under warranty). Everything was handled professionally and I was happy to have my bike light back so quickly. read more

Two years after purchasing a Sabre 50 taillight, I had a little trouble with it, so I called NiteRider. The customer service employee I spoke with (Shawna) was professional, helpful, and quickly offered to send a free replacement for the unit that needed attention. Great customer service. I broke the belt clip for my Sentinel tail light recently. I called customer service at NiteRider to see if I could order a replacement. By the time I had explained the part I wanted to the representative, he asked me for my address and said he would send me the clip right away ! The whole call didn't last more than a minute. That is how customer service should be and the next time I buy a bike light, it will be a NiteRider. read more

I don't know what's better, their products or their customer service! Both are SUPERB! I purchased a NiteRider Solas tail light 29 months ago and it's met and exceed my expectations for both day and night riding, battery life, effectiveness, durability and weather tolerance. Although the clip that attaches to my saddle bag has broken twice with the light taking spills at over 20 MPH, the light is unscathed. I've called customer service over a year ago and once again today for a replacement clip and they're always accomodating, fast and friendly with getting one sent out. Thanks Niterider and Kristef! I've had Niterider lights for about 5 years now. My first one, a Lumina 600, is still rockin. I upgraded to a Lumina 900, it's awesome! My girlfriend has a couple as well and recently lost one of her rear lights. I bought her a new one, the Solstice 100. Unfortunately she hit some rough road and lost this one too. I took her bracket into Niterider and asked if something was wrong with it. The gentleman there, sorry I forgot his name, showed me how to bend the bracket to make the light lock in better and assured me I wouldn't break it. He then replaced my girlfriend's light!!! Their lights are amazing, best I've ever used and their service is top notch. Won't use anything else for my bikes!! read more

Niteriders have always been great lights. I own 2 headlights and 3 taillights. Last week, I dropped off an older Lumina 250 because it would no longer turn on. They told me $20 for a repair which I thought was pretty reasonable. Today, without any fanfare or notice, I received a brand new replacement for the 250... But they upgraded me to a 450. At no charge! Great company. I'll always have a Niterider on my bikes. read more

I bought a Niterider 650 bike light about 3-4 years ago. It's a top notch piece of equipment. I commute with it nearly daily and it performs flawlessly. It fully lights dark trails and lets cars and pedestrians know you're coming from a long distance. The best part about Niterider though has been the service. My light has been "well-loved" and battered over thousands of miles, and twice I've need a repair or spare part for the light. Both times they cheerfully provided the fix/part FREE! No questions asked. Who does that anymore? I couldn't recommend Niterider more highly. read more

I must be old. I bought a niterider a few years ago and it stopped working, or so I thought. So I put it in my pile of electronics to fix. I got out my kit, tried to take it apart. I was unsuccessful, so just bought the bullet or so I thought and got a new one. I charged it up, and it would not turn on. I plugged it into multiple sockets, multiple chargers, and almost went crazy. And it, too, went on my electronics pile. Finally, I had time again weeks later and got the thing in the package to send back to Niterider, but just for kicks, I called the support line, just to make sure the receiving address was correct. And lo and behold, the support tech came on, yes a real HUMAN, and actually fixed my light over the phone, told me just to depress the button for 8-10 seconds on both lights. Even the light that had not worked for a year came on and still had it's charge. WHOAH! they make a great product and actually provide customer support. wow. read more
