Their food is delicious and they have a good variety of foods on their menu. We just tried their pizza and it is to die for ‼ The Manager and staff are awesome.. fun place. And if you are a bicyclist this is right on the High Trestle Trail great place to stop

Nite Hawk is a fantastic local grill pub directly on the confluence of the High Trestle Trail (a cycling must see) and the Heart of Iowa Rail Trail. The staff was very friendly and fast. Food is great. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich with all the fixings and the pork was very generous, cooked perfect, and the veggies toppings were crisp and fresh. They have a decent selection of tap and can/bottle beer. This is an incredibly bicycle friendly place with a very large outdoor seating area, bike racks, and a free 24x7 water supply for cyclists to refill bottles.

Nice place right on the high trestle trail. We will be back. Food and beer were great after a ride this evening

Cheese balls for our appetizer. Grilled cheese with onion rings for me & a grilled chicken sandwich with fries for my cousin.

the only good part about this bar was one of the bartenders. Was treated terribly as soon as I walked in.

Only eaten there twice but I would recommend the breaded tenderloin. Just a nice local place where you can sit back and relax.

We made our way inside and its set up as you would expect a pub. Lots of people inside. Group off to the side and most the tables were full. We snagged a seat and a waitress came over pretty quickly. She got our drinks and we spaced out with whatever was on tv. Hubby has been here before but this was my first time. The menu was limited. He said they used to have burgers, but from a photo on their website it looks like the menu was updated in 2022 and no burgers anymore. Fried food and Pizza are your options. Yes there are a few other things, but it appears simplified and makes for quicker turn around. We were not really up for pizza but I wanted to try the fried tenderloin sandwich. We decided to split it and get a side of cheesballs. The sandwich came out hot and with a side of crinkle cut fries. It was really good. It wasn't too thin and the batter was really good. The individual that was with us got a salad. The salad was huge! it was so big she had to take most of it with her. I would probably go back for another Tenderloin. Probably go back to try the pizza as well. Lots of good comments about the Pizza on here. Give them a try if you are driving by.

Most nights I'd say are fairly easy to get in and find a table. Its also a great place to take some birthday shots! Definitely recommend the green tea shots. I had a whiskey sour during their whiskey Wednesday and it was awesome! They have many options so you can't go wrong of what you choose. They also have pizza and chips options if you'd like a quick bite! The whole place is worth a try!

We were greeted by the bartenders with a smile and a "Welcome in!". The staff were really nice and even when the bar picked up a little later, they were attentive, efficient, and polite. They definitely didn't "crack under pressure" lol. Inside, the bar and tables were very clean and organized. There is a pool table, but only one :/ I do wish they had a few more because when the bar got busy, everyone wanted a turn. The prices are amazing and the specials are so fun! It's also nice that they're open during the summer, since most bars in Ames seem to close for summer vacation.

It's a very relaxing Irish pub vibe with a variety of seating options and lots of TVs. Our drinks came out quickly and the food followed shortly thereafter. I got a martini and it was very well prepared. My wife got a glass of wine from their decent wine list. For dinner, I had the lamb burger, which was quite tasty. It was a good combination of flavors and the fries were hot and crisp. My wife got a naked burger with a side salad. The creamy Parmesan was very tasty and it was a nice bed of greens. A table next to us had some sort of a problem with one of the dinners and the server tried many many times to get the customer to order a replacement, but he said he was OK with what he got. When she brought the check to them she made sure to take that off since he did not eat it and would not accept a replacement. They seem shocked at this, but I wondered why they just didn't get a replacement! Great service by that server. She was also our server and did a fantastic job with us. We had very tasty food and great drinks , so I would definitely recommend it and would go back if I was in the area.
