I have nothing but rave reviews for Nit Wits. I was first introduced to them three years ago, when my then 6th Grader, contracted lice at middle school. Initially, I had tried conquer the problem myself...not realizing how big the battle is. Then a friend HIGHLY recommended Nit Wits: they get rid of the lice, guaranteed. No low-level worry that I may have missed one, which leads to a whole new round of battling bugs. I am glad I called because Lori & Nicole cleaned up where I had missed using over-the-counter treatment (which would have led to another round!). They were gentle, reassuring, kind, compassionate, professional, and thorough. Now, three years later, we contracted lice again - this time from who knows where! I immediately called Nicole and she was booked solid. So, I took my daughter to Lovebugs and had an absolutely outrageous experience: overpriced, harsh handling, coercion to buy their product, and recommendation to schedule several follow-up overpriced treatments! That was another YELP review. I scheduled Nicole for our follow-up (only to find out that Lovebugs didn't even get rid of all the lice!) and she removed it all. Nit Wits does all the hard work with the nasty pests, leaving me with focus and energy to concentrate on cleaning the house to rid them from the environment. Nit Wits is THE BEST. I tell everyone whenever I can. I don't feel the low-level anxiety of impending infestation. There is so much peace in knowing they have completed handled the bugs - guaranteed!!! Thanks Nicole!!!! read more

I had someone come out for detection and removal services about a week ago. In the moment, I was thrilled because not only did it feel thorough but I was comfortable because this company has a "100% guarantee." Unfortunately I found more lice in all 3 of my daughters hair roughly 2 weeks after our appointment. No problem, right!? This company has a 100% guarantee... WRONG! Apparently there is only a guarantee if a follow up appointment is booked the day of the original appointment. 1) I wish I knew this little caveat to the guarantee, and 2) why in the world would I book a follow up appointment on the day of my original appointment? I expected the problem to be solved right then and there. Given the problem wasn't taken care of the original visit, and this company had thrown a loophole in their guarantee policy, they deserve nothing more than 1 star. Do better. read more

Took amazing care of our family! They were kind, thorough and professional. We highly recommend!

We've called Nit-Wits twice now and they are a godsend! Laurie is very kind and reassuring. She shows up with her rolling pack of supplies and gets to lice-finding right away. We have a large family with 4 kids, plus two parents to check, so I really appreciate how quickly (and thoroughly) she works! This last time we were about to leave the country in 2 days so they came the same evening we discovered the lice on one of my kids, I am so thankful for Nit-Wits! read more

I'm happy to report that my household is safely on the other side of lice thanks to Nicole. I may need therapy to work through the leftover mental scars, but nonetheless we are rid of the awfulness because of her. I can't even describe how wonderful, calming, sensitive and most importantly, thorough she is. Nicole/Nitwits was so empathetic AND meticulous. She was everything I needed to help me through this crisis. And lice truly is a crisis that needs an immediate "drop everything and handle correctly" attitude. I can't recommend this service enough. Thank you, Nitwits, for holding my hand and counseling me on every pillow, stuffed animal and towel. read more

I have been dealing with lice and nit removal on my young daughter for the past week with no success. Nicole from Nit -Wits came to our home and took quick and efficient action. She put our minds at ease and turned the nightmare into a passing thought. She also helped educate us as parents and our daughter in how to avoid contracting in the future. Pricing is affordable and reasonable and well worth the peace of mind. I highly recommend this service!! read more

Nicole isn't someone you want to call - because it means you have lice. However, should you find yourself in that unfortunate situation- she is the ONLY person you want to call- and you will love her. She was great with our 2 young kids. She is efficient and friendly. She comes to your home and aside from ridding your heads of lice- she also educates you on clearing the lice and keeping your home lice free- as well as prevention in the future. I am hoping we don't have a long professional relationship -but I really enjoyed this experience (as much as I could given the situation). read more

Amazing. Came to my house and did my daughter head. I was so stressed out about the whole thing but she put my mind at ease.

Thank goodness for Sarah at Nit-Wits! Parents of school age children bookmark this now because when you discover lice in the wee morning hours, you panic! At least I did! I called the first place in my google search and went right in to get our family's hair checked and combed out. Apparently My kindergartener had brought it home. After hours in a salon to get comb outs I had researched some more and asked several mother groups who recommended Nit Wits. Nit Wits came to our home and Sarah was very informative, kind, and my kids (ages 2 & 5) loved her. She did our follow up comb outs and confirmed we "were all clear" whew! I hope to never have this problem again but if we do, I'll save myself some time and lots of Money and call Nit Wits first. Thank you Sarah for evicting the lice!!!! read more

So no one wants to review this, I mean right? Because who the heck wants to have this, let alone re-live it! But let me say, after dodging the lice bullet for over 17 years, it hit us, and hit us big. Boys are easy, shave their heads. Girls are not easy but at least they have me to help them! Me! Who's gonna help me!!? Laurie did. I texted in the morning the night after we discovered them, sending an S.O.S. and Sarah responded immediately. She said no problem, either her or Laurie would show up in several hours and take care of me. A few hours later, Laurie came in, her kit on wheels in hand. She set up "shop" in the kitchen and explained all she was planning to do. I had already treated myself the night prior so her goal was to comb and assess. She did exactly that. Section by section, slowly but accurately. Marking each "finding" so we could keep track. We chatted about life and lice (of course) and when she was done, she reviewed the do's and don'ts- what I should do in between that time and her follow up, and was my absolute savior. The fact that she hauled over to my home, helped me, knew her stuff and was super reasonable in price was incredible. I am forever grateful and though I would love to see her again, I truly hope I never have to!! Eek! Thanks again Laurie! read more

Stephanie just came back for a follow up with my nephew (he was the only one who had the lice) and our household is now lice free ... yay! Thanks again Stephanie! read more

We were SO happy Lori could come to us today! What an amazing service! Lori is a delight. She was kind, professional and VERY helpful. This was a delightful experience. This was our FIRST time ever experiencing Lice. Nit - Wits is the one and only service we will use a recommend. read more

BEST EVER!!! Lori was prompt, professional, and a joy to have helping us with a problem that tends to leave everyone short tempered and irritable. In less than 2 hours she had both my kids were clean and relieved. In our follow up check they still had nothing. (*-*) This is not the kind of problem that once known, one likes to sleep on then maybe shop around and think about. She was very accommodating with our panicky last minute request and by nightfall we were all able to sleep peacefully bug free. Highly Recommended! read more

Nit-Wits is wonderful, reassuring, friendly, competent, thorough, calming...all things you need when you have a lice infestation at your house. I tried another local Lamorinda lice removal company, and frankly found it to be an unpleasurable and confidence-weakening experience. A friend suggested we switch to Nit-Wits. I am THRILLED that we did. We had never had lice before. So I wanted questions answered and confidence instilled. I had been through DAYS of laundry, cleaning, combing, itching, worrying, more laundry, etc. Nicole was like a breath of fresh, lice-free air. She answered any questions that I had, was great with my children, incredibly thorough and reassuring. She takes pride in her work and guarantees it. She is upfront about her assessment of your infestation, fairly priced and no-nonsense, all while being a pleasure to be around. She will tell you what you need to do, what you DON'T need to do (I could have used this earlier in the process when I was working with the other company...I am a bit Type A), she works swiftly but carefully. While I will look back at this lice incident as a bad chapter, Nicole brought resolution to the bad chapter. I hope NEVER to go through this again. But, if I do, I will call Nicole at Nit-Wits. read more

I couldn't be happier choosing Nit Wits. Nicole is great! When I found out my oldest daughter have these pests, I panicked. I called Comb It Out first, but the lady was so rude. She was annoyed that I asked so many questions. I may have overreacted with this, but what do you expect? These pests are pain in the arse! And I have a 2-month old baby with full hair that I'm also worried about. We went to Lovebugs before to get checked but I wanted to go to a better one and so found Nit Wits off Yelp. Nicole was very nice, answered all my questions, took us in the same day I called. And treated all of us for a little less price than Lovebugs (they tend to overprice!). Nit Wit provides great service--Nicole got the skills to be doing this and she's very nice. Makes this nightmare better. Thanks much Nicole! read more

3 kids infected in our family after we discovered that someone else at school had them. They came the same day and gave us options about how people deal with it. They were there to treat us, not to squeeze every last bit of money from us. For example, they told us that some boys just shave their head. So we shaved the 2 year old and they looked him over and cleared him quickly. This saved an hour of combing that he (the 2-year old) would have hated and would have made Lori and Nit-Wits more money. My 5-year old and 7-year old were comfortable with Lori because she was patient, talked with them, explained what she was doing and brought entertainment via a DVD player. Seriously, Lori and Nit-Wits cares. They give a 14-day guarantee once you're pronounced clean. She uses a jewelry magnifier while she meticulously goes through hair and deposits bugs and eggs on a paper towel in a plastic bag. She's armed with papers and advice for your home. She reassures the upset wife. This is the group of people I want on my side to get the job done. This isn't a job to be done half-baked. I personally didn't have time to deal with this. I've got a day job. Lori took my family through this successfully. I originally objected to my wife spending this money, thinking this was something we should do on our own. I was totally wrong. Worth every penny. Hope that helps you on your selection. I wish you luck on this not so fun day. read more

Nicole at Nit-wits was a godsend! After 4 days of dealing with my son's lice, I was unable to focus on clearing my own up. With my husband away and no one to assist me, Nicole came to the rescue. In a little over an hour she did what it took me several hours over 4 days to do for my son. She is experienced, professional, efficient and was a pleasure to have in our home. Without a doubt I will recommend her and her service. I only wish I would have known about Nit-wits 4 days ago. Best part was she said I shouldn't even think about lice for the next week until she comes back for the lice check. Hopefully, we will get the all clear. From this point on, I will be checking my son and myself for lice regularly as I do not ever want to go through this again. read more

My daughters preschool called me and told me they were very confident she had lice. In complete disbelief I rushed to collect her and they gave me the number of nitwits. I called Nicole and she was at my house within 20 minutes to diagnose and start treatment. They are expensive but worth it in my opinion. $93 per hour gets you the entire treatment and she takes about one 1 hour 15 minutes each person. Myself, my eight-year-old, and my five-year-old all turned out to have lice. My husband was thrilled to escape the diagnosis. Nicole treated all of us efficiently and we were lice free after one application. Lice is not a medical condition rather a horrible nuisance and if not takin care of aggressively you will just keep repeating the cycle every 7 to 10 days. I found it worthwhile to pay someone to be completely detailed and take care of it the first time around. A little girl in my daughters class also got sent home and her mom did her treatment herself and returned her to school the next day and the lice were still present. The office sent her home again which I'm sure was a double humiliating experience. Another mom in my eight-year-old class had difficulty combing the strands of hair so cut her beautiful daughters long hair to do the treatment herself. It's not easy to deal with so if you only want to deal with it once, I wouldn't hesitate calling them. Myself and my daughters all have extremely thick hair. Nicole was efficient and pain-free. I expected the finetooth nit comb to hurt like heck and she did it totally pain-free with no pulling. My five-year-old Who has spiral curly thick hair did not squeal once either. Overall an extremely satisfying treatment. I'm posting this eight days later and we are still 100% lice and Nit free. Additionally, I think it's great information that everyone with school aged children purchase a Rombi comb For $22 it's a great preventative measure to keep this parasite away. You comb through your kids hair once a week or whenever you hear about a lice outbreak and it will detect and electrocute lice and eggs on contact. I've never heard of it before this experience but I am so thrilled I purchased it. It never goes bad and is fully charged with one AA battery for each use. I highly recommend purchasing this and keeping it on hand as a preventative to keeping this annoying parasite out of your house. read more

Professional, friendly and reasonably priced mobile service provided by Nicole. Nicole came to help my daughter with a mild case after we tried OTC and combing methods. She came to our home with short notice and was a pleasure to work with. She successfully and efficiently combed everything out and checked all members of our family, just in case, while instructing us on further cleaning and prevention methods to follow immediately after her visit. Her visit was considered ground zero and after that we were nit free and at ease. Nicole accomplished in minutes what it took me meticulous hours, yes hours, to attempt to do. I highly recommend Nicole and her service. If anyone has this problem, don't worry, just give Nicole a call first! read more

Lori is the ONLY reason our family was able to get rid of our lice infestation in 2009. We finally called her after we were desperate and had tried for WEEKS to do it ourselves. We were truly at our "wits" end!! After one visit we never had another problem. She follows about a week later just to make sure. She was the absolute first person that we called when we heard that close friends of the kids had lice this year in 2011. One visit got rid of the lice and a follow up showed all clear. I have told everyone I know about Lori and her service. I even gave the school her card and begged them to refer her to parent after the school-wide lice problem in 2009. I absolutely cannot say enough about Lori. She is relaxed, calm and extremely knowledgeable. She is gentle when she combs (important for those sensitive girls with long hair!) and uses natural products that WORK!! She even brings a DVD player and a movie for the kids to watch as she combs. If you have a lice problem, please do yourself and your family a favor and call Lori first. It will save you so much time and stress...and money! It costs a lot to do all of that laundry multiple times while you are not sure the lice are gone. Most of all, she provides peace of mind, which is priceless. read more

What a relief it was to have Lori from Nit-Wits come to our house so quickly. Even more of a relief was that she checked our whole family and it turned out that no one had lice after all. Setting up the appointment with Jeremy was fast and easy. Lori was very calm, competent, thorough and worked quickly without being hurried. She was gentle and kind with my overly-sensitive kid too. Thank you Lori!!! read more

After dealing with lice for nearly 2 months, Lori was able to finally help us get rid of it! I called her and she got both my daughters in that morning. One treatment then, and then a follow-up 7 days later did the trick. She gave specific instructions on how to clean our home once and for all (no more daily laundering of the bed sheets - ugh!). She was so professional and even helped reinforce good hygiene tips for my girls to avoid future bouts with lice. I have to say, this felt like a God-send after all those weeks. I would highly recommend Nit-Wits!!! read more

I found lice in my daughter's hair last weekend and treated them with RID. Shortly after the treatment, they started jumping off her on my kitchen floor! Obviously not dead. My kid was screaming and crying when I frantically called Nit Wits for help. They booked us first thing Monday. When Loren arrived, I had no idea what to expect (other then a treatment). She was very professional and completely prepared. She set up a movie for my daughter on a portable DVD player. She removed all the louse and nits from our hair in a very short time and sold me a really great comb for removing the little suckers. I am very happy with the peace of mind I received that we got them all out and she gave me a few really great tips to keep them from reinfesting. I would highly reccomend this service to anyone who has been infested with head lice. Thank you Nit Wits! read more

Nicole is amazing, she's professional and she's honest, calming, helpful and knows how to get rid of lice. I hope I never have to call her again but if I do, I know my family and I will be in good hands! She is GREAT at what she does! read more

Okay, listen up. I know that they're "just bugs" but let's be real. They're horrific! They take over your life. Mama, you cannot handle this alone. Lice is just TERRIBLE-AWFUL and you need to call in the pros. Do yourself a favor and call Nit-Wits. It's affordable and saves you time and money in the long run. Most of all it saves your *sanity*. I went three days trying to "manage" the nasty little ****ers on my own. Meanwhile my husband and I were on the verge of divorce, I was ogling the bottle of vodka at 8:30am, my kids were afraid of me, and everyone in the house was itching maniacally. But mostly, I was in a constant panic. I called Nit-Wits in Danville (because we were staying with my in-laws for the holidays) and Sarah came over and checked every member of the house out, treated my daughter (who was, thankfully, the only one with bugs) and even gave my little newly-bug-free girl a cute double french braid (which she adored because her mom can't do hair for s#*%!). I was impressed with the quick response time, stellar customer service and how effectively Sarah calmed my panicky nerves while expertly de-bugging my child. In short, Nit-Wits is a godsend!! read more

It eventually happens to all of us who have children..... we get the dreaded call from preschool telling us that our child has lice and needs to be picked up immediately. After 24 hours of googling and yahooing my way out of a panic attack, I remembered someone telling me that there was a "professional lice service" where they come to your house and help get rid of the little buggers. I immediately called Nit Wits and spoke to Lori. She was a life saver. She showed up within two hours, comb in hand and ready to go. She was great with my three year old, very gentle and kind. There are a few different lice companies in the East Bay and she is certainly the most professional, efficient and thorough. I highly recommend her! read more

Lori Webb is great! Our daughter's preschool had a lice outbreak and our daughter was one of the unlucky recipients of those little buggers. I used the RID OTC shampoo, combed through my daughter's hair afterward and still found lots of bugs moving around. I wanted to make sure I did this right the first time so I called Lori and Nit-Wits. She came out quickly and was armed with a great lice comb, good hair products and a portable DVD player. My daughter (who normally hates having her hair touched) was so patient and tolerant of all the combing Lori had to do. Lori gave us lots of advice and information about lice and their removal. And she gave us some ideas for preventive measures that we are now using. Apparently, lice are now resistant to the OTC treatments as evidenced by the number of lice and eggs that Lori and I found AFTER the RID treatment. She came back in a few days for a follow-up and our daughter got the "all clear." We recently had to call Lori again for yet another outbreak and she came out and handled the situation again. She also checks every member of the family so you're sure everyone gets the "all clear." Both times we have followed all her instructions in terms of removing the lice from our home, cars, etc. She has even offered to work with our preschool and she has answered my questions both during and in between treatments. She is such a ray of light during a dark time and I highly recommend her. Knowing that we have done all we can do for our daughter makes us feel so good and now we are switching schools so we hope to be rid of those buggers for good! read more

We used Nit-Wits about six months agon, and they were amazing! After spending two weeks attempting to deal with the problem with store-bought and home remedies - and probably 30 hours of coming through and removing nits, they took of the problem in one hour, in our home. It was someone other than Lori that came, but I can't remember her name. She was great - professional and friendly, but my kids at ease. I would recommend that parents go directly to Nit-Wits rather than attempting lice removal on their own. The money is sooooo worth it to avoid the time and aggravation (and failure) doing it on your own! read more

Stop searching. Seriously, if lice has landed in your house, and if you have kids it will sooner or later, call Nicole at Nit Wits. We have had to use her twice in the past six months and each time she has made bearable the experience that all parents dread. She is calm, helpful, reassuring and completely gifted at getting rid of the bugs.
