"Physician, Scholar, Photographer, Nice Person"…read more I have visited Dr. Tomcik numerous times. Each occasion has gone well. One time, I had pretty bad poison oak, and he suggested a cortisone injection. I did not know you could get an injection for poison oak, but it worked fantastic. I've come back on several occasions for similar injections. The doctor is friendly and enjoys talking about his profession. On my most recent visit, my appointment actually lasted 30 minutes! If you are expecting an assembly line process, you will be quite surprised. He allows plenty of time for appointments. However, if you like being treated like a number on an assembly line, this is probably not the right place for you. It became obvious to me after a while that the doctor is also a scholar. Ask him some Dermatology questions, and see for yourself. He has extensive experience in the field. While you're at the office, check out the beautiful photos in the hallway, taken by the doctor in Africa. Next time I come in for a cortisone injection, I'm going to try to get an autographed photograph. During the covid crisis, when you arrive for your appointment, stay in the parking lot and give them a call. That way they can make sure you're not around other people. I thought this procedure worked well. So all-in-all, an outstanding practice. It's refreshing in this age of assembly lines to find a doctor who is so conscientious. (And no, I'm not his brother-in-law.) But don't be dumb like me and keep coming back with poison oak.

I have been coming to this establishment for a bit. I think maybe i'm on my 2nd package with each…read morepackage contains 4 or 5 treatments. Danville is a tad far from my home, which is SF. But since I liked what I saw and heard from Dr. Ellis' YT channel, I thought it was worth the drive to come here. I saw Dr. Ellis for the initial consult but since they've made her a partner at the practice, all my treatments were performed by a nurse. And I love my nurse, her name is Emily, she seems competent and friendly and funny. What's not cool about this place is: 1) The pricing 2) The front desk The pricing is much higher than other cosmetic practices in the Bay Area, incl in SF where I used to and still get some treatments done. To compensate for this, you'll need to buy a package, just to make the pricing comparable to other places where you could buy as a single treatment. The front desk seems to be employing a gestapo approach to customer service. So I made a mistake in my calendar with the start time, so I ended up arriving 1 hour earlier than the 2:30p appointment time that they texted me. I arrived and I told them I had a 1:30p appointment, but was informed that my appointment was actually 3:30p, with a 2:30p start time just going into a room waiting while getting my face numbed. I told them it seems that I've made a mistake but I do have a full day ahead of me and I live all the way in SF so I wanted to see if they could please let my nurse know that I'm there early. I was asking them for an accommodation for a mistake that I clearly owned. They wouldn't talk to Nurse Emily. They told me Emily is all booked with not a 5 min to spare. I told them that's fine, if they could please maybe leave her a little note letting her know of my situation. Loren at Front Desk initally told me yes they would tell Emily when she's out with a patient to the cashier at front desk, but within minutes, she had told her manager in the office and her manager came out to tell me there's nothing they could do. They wouldn't let Emily know! They also told me they absolutely have no spare room to put me in. But when I was finally admitted to my treatment room, I saw a ROW of empty rooms. Bravo!

I am also busy and have a 3 month wait for non urgent patients. But when you have established patients with urgent concerns you accommodate them in an urgent fashion. 3 weeks is not urgent. A 13 year old with a new onset raised itchy facial rash is not something that can wait 3 weeks. I told them this is not up to my expectations of care and is poor patient care and they said "we are sorry to hear that but we do understand if you will need to see another dermatologist. We have a lot of urgent concerns that has been requesting to schedule but we cannot accommodate everyone." Wow. As a physician I am appalled. I would never let my staff say this to a patient!

True my visit was just a few minutes but in those few minutes I believe I received the information and treatment I needed for two warts on my feet. I avoided getting any kind of spa treatments on my feet because of a wart on top of one of my toes and another near my hell on the opposite foot. I was told they are contagious and should not be touched. I could put a band aid on them and still get a pedicure. Also I was informed that warts are historically difficult to treat and could require multiple treatments- up to nine! I had gone to a local podiatrist whose treatment was a very mild freeze with a canister that was very small. At Berman they had a canister that was roughly 5 times as large and delivered quite a punch to the warts. I was told it might sting a little and sting it did! I'm hoping I won't have to go 8 more times but I think I went to the right place. I know my feet will be beach ready before summer.

Wallach Derma Center came as a doctor referral as I wanted an annual routine appointment. I made an appointment and went in on December 30th, 2025. Very nice office, all staff was friendly and efficient. Dermatologist and assistant cut off 2 moles for biopsy and froze a couple of "concern" areas all in a matter of roughly 45 minutes. I paid a $50 co-pay. After a couple of weeks, I received a lab fee for just over $250, which I understand and paid. This week I received an additional invoice from Wallach for over $370 for my patient portion of the visit. I have attached the invoice with over $1,000 in charges for the 45 mins visit on 12/30/25. My insurance covered roughly $625 of these charges. I reached out to Wallach stating I felt these charges were excessive and asked for a review. I received an email back the following day stating they were correct with no adjustments. For a routine check-up to ultimately cost me over $670 out of pocket with good insurance is a complete rip off. Make sure you do your due diligence as all dermatologists are not the same. Nice enough people, but I won't be back.

I am really disappointed to write this. My daughter has been treated here for acne and the regimen…read moreprescribed worked well enough. I brought her back in Sep. '23 for two warts on her thumb and hand. Nurse Sarah applied "beetle juice" to it and scheduled a follow up. It pretty much burned a hole in her hand but she said to expect that. We went back two weeks later for the follow up appt where she again applied beetle juice to it a second time. We paid $45 copays for both visits plus a "surgery" fee for the second visit of $143, plus they received two payments from our insurance for both visits. After two treatments here, the wart still hadn't completely gone away on either her thumb or her hand! I scheduled a third appt for her in May of this year, this time with Dr. Wallach, for another follow up on the warts. Rather than a third application of beetle juice, this time he sprayed it with liquid nitrogen to freeze it off. Except he really sprayed the HECK out of her hand. See the attached picture of what it looked like SEVEN DAYS AFTER he sprayed it. This burned hole in her hand was originally twice this size and twice as deep immediately following his freezing treatment. I have personally never had a wart in my life so I have zero experience with getting them frozen off, so I didn't know if this was normal or not. My daughter said it was extremely painful and complained to me daily about how much her hand hurt. It eventually healed over but she still a "ring" around the previously frozen wart of where a new wart has regrown. So we have taken her here 3x for wart removal on the same spot and despite literally burning a hole in her hand, they haven't been able to completely eradicate what was originally a very small wart on her thumb. Imagine my surprise when I received yet another bill in the mail a month later for "surgery" again for another $143, again after I had paid a third copay of $45 and Dr. Wallach had received a third payment from our insurance for this visit. I called to complain about how my daughter's treatment badly burned a hole in her hand, that I thought we were going in for a follow up and didn't think we should have to pay for the damage he caused to her hand, and the wart was still present despite all this pain she had gone through. The receptionist said she would pass my concern on to Dr. Wallach. I then received a voicemail from Dr. Wallach saying that sometimes this happens and asked me to bring my daughter back in so he could take a look at her hand. It was a month later by this point and healed over, what did he think he was going to look at? I also didn't want to get stuck paying a fourth $45 copay to visit them again. But more importantly, my daughter begged me not to bring her back here, understandably. I didn't contact him back and they never contacted me again. I didn't know if they had written off the $143 or not because he never addressed my question about the bill in his voicemail. Another month passes and despite my complaint, Dr. Wallach's office sends me yet another bill for the $143 again for the third visit. I paid it, because I always pay my bills, but now I'm leaving this review to warn others. Don't come here for wart removal unless this is the result you want. I am now taking her to a new dermatologist to get their recommendation on what to do for the remaining wart on her thumb!
