Great doctor and staff were all very friendly and professional. I will definitely be back, no pressure on offering other services.

There are problems with not only the doctor, but also with the website and the staff.

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Tomcik. I have been dealing with skin cancer for 20+…read moreyears, so I am familiar with dermatologist. He was very thorough and did an amazing job with my biopsies. I am so pleased to find a great dermatologist in my area.

"Physician, Scholar, Photographer, Nice Person"…read more I have visited Dr. Tomcik numerous times. Each occasion has gone well. One time, I had pretty bad poison oak, and he suggested a cortisone injection. I did not know you could get an injection for poison oak, but it worked fantastic. I've come back on several occasions for similar injections. The doctor is friendly and enjoys talking about his profession. On my most recent visit, my appointment actually lasted 30 minutes! If you are expecting an assembly line process, you will be quite surprised. He allows plenty of time for appointments. However, if you like being treated like a number on an assembly line, this is probably not the right place for you. It became obvious to me after a while that the doctor is also a scholar. Ask him some Dermatology questions, and see for yourself. He has extensive experience in the field. While you're at the office, check out the beautiful photos in the hallway, taken by the doctor in Africa. Next time I come in for a cortisone injection, I'm going to try to get an autographed photograph. During the covid crisis, when you arrive for your appointment, stay in the parking lot and give them a call. That way they can make sure you're not around other people. I thought this procedure worked well. So all-in-all, an outstanding practice. It's refreshing in this age of assembly lines to find a doctor who is so conscientious. (And no, I'm not his brother-in-law.) But don't be dumb like me and keep coming back with poison oak.

Since that doctor retired, it has been difficult to find someone who truly respects and listens to a patient's concerns. I went to Dr. Ting specifically to have a crease beside my lip filled. I had successfully treated this area before, so I clearly explained what had and had not worked for me. I specifically asked him not to inject the filler diagonally toward my lip because, in my experience, this creates an overhang. I explained that placing a small amount beside the lip in a more rounded area had previously filled the crease without causing that problem. I was also not given a mirror during the injections. Had I been able to see where the filler was being placed, I might have recognized what was happening and spoken up before the procedure was completed Unfortunately, he did exactly what I had asked him not to do. As shown in the photo, the original crease was not corrected, and I am now left with a diagonal, sagging-looking line where the filler was placed. I can feel the filler along that line when I place my fingers inside my cheek. On the other side, I was left with a lump below my mouth, and I do not understand what that placement was intended to correct. .Although Dr. Ting is a dermatologist, this experience left me questioning his expertise with cosmetic filler placement. Correcting the result may require additional filler or hyaluronidase to dissolve the existing filler, neither of which is an ideal option. I paid nearly $800 for this procedure, and instead of seeing an improvement, I feel that my appearance has been negatively altered. I am extremely disappointed and feel disfigured.

I had a very frustrating experience with Golden State Dermatology this morning, and my biggest…read moreconcern is less about one individual employee and more about how the practice appears to be staffing and managing its front desk. I had a confirmed 8:00 a.m. appointment and took the day off work specifically to attend it. When I arrived, the front desk was clearly overwhelmed with multiple patients checking in at once. I gave the employee my name several times and my date of birth, but she initially told me there was no record of me in the system at all. She then told me I did not have an appointment that day and instead had an appointment on a Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. I explained that this could not be correct because, due to my work schedule, I only make medical appointments on Fridays. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed rather than having anyone pause to investigate what might have happened. After going outside, I checked my appointment history and confirmed that my appointment was, in fact, scheduled for that morning. There had clearly been some kind of scheduling or technical issue. I called the appointment desk to explain what I had found and happened to reach the same employee. Despite explaining that I had a confirmed appointment and had already taken the day off work, there was no attempt to investigate the discrepancy or accommodate me. I was simply offered the next available Friday appointment, September 11 at 8:00 a.m. I want to be fair to the front-desk employee: she appeared experienced and professional, but also visibly rushed and overloaded. That is why I believe this is ultimately a management and staffing issue. Golden State Dermatology's physician partnership and management team should take a hard look at how the front desk is staffed, particularly during the morning rush, and at the reliability of its scheduling system. When a patient has a confirmed appointment, rearranges their workday, shows up on time, and is turned away because of an apparent system error, there should be a process for investigating the problem and making a reasonable effort to accommodate them. Instead, I lost a day of work, made an unnecessary trip to the office, and left feeling dismissed. I hope Golden State Dermatology takes this feedback seriously. A medical practice can have excellent clinicians, but the patient experience begins at the front desk, and today that experience fell well short.

From Edna, the woman who schedules and answers the calls, to Sarah, one of the in-office personnel, everyone here is a dream!! I've seen a lot of derms - in the city, Aesthetic Dermatology before their office closed in SF, and Icecreamwalla and Golden State Derm on this side of the bay. North Peak blows them all out of the water!! Dr. Chaudhari is such a wonderful listener. I never feel rushed. She explains the treatment options and explains why she thinks whatever course she recommends is best. She's always open to hearing what I think and what my concerns are. I srsly have not met a dermatologist I trust more. Last week, after finishing a month long course of antibiotics to clear some dermatitis around my eyes, eczema started coming back on my eyelids. I freaked out thinking that it was mites and not wanting to go backward on the progress we'd made with the long course of antibiotics. I called and there were no appts until Feb. I expressed my concern and Edna messaged the doc who said she could see me at the end of the day that same day. I mean, who does that nowadays?! To top it off, the new topical that the doc recommended was a bit hard/long to get approved, so the team found me a coupon for it. I feel so grateful to have found a doc (and team) that is as conscientious as they are great at what they do!! Five stars +++++++ Thank you, North Peak!

I was told there are no appointments until October. I then called again and got an appointment in late September for a total skin check up. Dr. Chaudari was very quick and asked me if it was ok to biopsy the skin issue that I had identified as she was not sure what if it was malignant or not. The Dr. is the expert, not me the patient. The biopsy came back as malignant. I had noticed another tumor on my scalp that she totally missed during the check up. I called again and requested an appointment right away, and was scheduled the following day. The biopsy for this tumor on my scalp that I found by myself, ended up being malignant as well. She had totally missed it. She is very rushed and did not do a good job with the annual skin check up. I will not be returning to this office.

I had regrowth so I scheduled a visit in the WC location due to relocating here. Location is nice however the entrance to the office is very dark. The receptionist was nice however here are my pros and cons. Cons: I didn't find my visit very welcoming The laser process seemed very fast only individually targeted and not in a straight row as I'm used to. Seems like you can miss areas if you are not consistently lasering the whole area. There were no discussions just sit here and put on the glasses. I felt PA could have asked my input. She was not friendly at all. Before they would shave me first not here. Now I have these burned hairs attached to the face and I'm wondering are they supposed to fall off? When I explained to the PA in the past they would treat more areas she kept saying this is why as a courtesy I lasered a couple areas. She must of said that at least five times as a courtesy for you. This is not how you talk to customers. I wasn't too happy with how quick my area was treated considering how much money I paid. When you are a customer and pay for a service with your hard earned money you expect at a minimum good customer service. I was expecting a wow factor here and that did not happen. Also the ice pack provided lasted 5 minutes was lot helpful at all.

I have one word for this practice…read more WOW! I needed to find a dermatologist to go on a 2nd round of accutane. Anyone who has had to be on it knows what a MASSIVE pain in the ass the stupid iPledge system is. The system is so difficult to time correctly, it's the reason I didn't finish the full round of the drug the first time I was on it. Wallach Derma Center came as a doctor referral as I wanted an annual routine appointment. I made an appointment and went in on December 30th, 2025. Very nice office, all staff was friendly and efficient. Dermatologist and assistant cut off 2 moles for biopsy and froze a couple of "concern" areas all in a matter of roughly 45 minutes. I paid a $50 co-pay. After a couple of weeks, I received a lab fee for just over $250, which I understand and paid. This week I received an additional invoice from Wallach for over $370 for my patient portion of the visit. I have attached the invoice with over $1,000 in charges for the 45 mins visit on 12/30/25. My insurance covered roughly $625 of these charges. I reached out to Wallach stating I felt these charges were excessive and asked for a review. I received an email back the following day stating they were correct with no adjustments. For a routine check-up to ultimately cost me over $670 out of pocket with good insurance is a complete rip off. Make sure you do your due diligence as all dermatologists are not the same. Nice enough people, but I won't be back.
