horrible, the one positive is they will come late at night & last minute. however, they broke…read moreseveral of our things & acted like breaking our belongings should just be brushed off. All our boxes were labeled & by the end of the move they basically just threw everything in the living room pilled up or in whatever room they felt like. Then, they tried to get us to hire them separately and cut out the boss for whatever cash we would negotiate with them. Yeah, right so you could break more or our things and have no company to pursue or insure our items. extremely unprofessional

DO NOT EVER use this mover. I am out $4,365.00 to this company. I was planning an out of state move…read moreand he wanted 1/2 down. After researching Indy Movers, the trucks are not listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website which is a big red flag. I reported Indy Movers to this Administration. I also have reported the company to The IN Attorney General's Office and their investigation is pending. I have unsuccessfully tried to get my money back. I had to call Thomas Carter 3 times and email several times and send text messages to get a break down of the $4365 charge. I received no inventory list from him after he went through my apartment. There was no written contract provided. All red flags. When he did finally send the break down of charges, he said the remaining $4365 was due that day which was 25 days before the move was scheduled. Red flag. After finally coming to my senses, I realized this was a shady company and would not allow them to move me. Also, if you look on the Indy Movers website when you google Indianapolis movers - a completely different website than if you google Indy Movers comes up - there is a picture of a professional looking white moving truck. That truck picture was found on a legitimate movers website which means to me Indy Movers photo shopped that picture. He said he would be using a U-Haul truck to move me. He owns a U-Haul business and the U-Haul address is what is on his business card. The Indy Movers website, when you google Indy Movers, shows an address of 9020 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236 which he doesn't even own or go to. Very deceptive business and business owner. This experience has been a nightmare not to mention that it caused a real financial strain on me to lose that money and then have to pay a reputable company that I went with. Hopefully with the help of the Attorney General's office I will get my money back.

My Movers Inc. was a fantastic moving experience. Fast, professional, no surprises, minimal stress…read more Very fair pricing for the high quality work they do. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We hired My Movers Inc. for an interstate move (about 12 hours away.) After a short phone call, they responded with a rough estimate based on the size of our home the following morning, which was a great response time. They scheduled an in-person walkthrough that week, showed up on time, and had an itemized, specific estimate by the end of it. We were able to schedule the move then and there, and were given guidelines on how to pack our things for the move and what wasn't allowed (e.g. liquids, fragile loose items, etc.) on the truck. Movers showed up right on schedule and cleared our packed belongings and furniture in under 2 hours. Similar story for unloading: they arrived right on time, and got all our stuff off the truck in 2 hours. Even though we didn't have a ton of stuff, I was impressed with how quickly they were able to load and unload. Everyone we interacted with throughout the process was friendly and polite. We ultimately came in slightly under the original estimate, which may not always be the case, but I appreciate when a business estimates high. Pleasant surprises are always better than unpleasant ones. :)

We couldn't get a hold of them for a long time and finally when we did, they said someone didn't show up so they'd be late. They were 3 hours late which messed our entire moving day up. The movers did an ok job, not great. They had a lack of attention to detail like putting cushions back on couches and leaving the dining room table in the corner of the room. They even put beds in the wrong rooms. Watching them move our stuff was stressful. I was sure they were going to break something and luckily didn't. Do not use this company unless you want your move to be stressful.

Overall by far the worst experience I have had with any type of service provider. To start the day…read moreoff, they showed up an hour and a half late to my apartment, took 45 minutes to get around the building to the loading dock, then took another 20-25 minutes to park in the loading dock where they hit the top of the loading dock and dented my apartment building. Then there was a language barrier that I was not informed of until they showed up at my apartment which resulted in a lot of wasted time google translating things and having to have them move items to other rooms because they couldn't understand our directions on where to put them - which added a large chunk of time to the total amount of time I was billed for. They also moved items to different piles in the apartment, then more piles outside of the apartment door to the hall, then to the elevator and then took things down. Not to mention they took a 30 minute lunch break that I was also billed for at the end of the day. Also in the process of moving, several things were damaged. This included several big furniture items, dishes that were in boxes that had caved in from having several other boxes stacked on top of them even though the boxes were very clearly labeled fragile on top, and worst of all, there were several scrapes on the walls of my brand new house that had just finished being built two weeks prior. The worst of which is the tire marks going up the side of my stairs from where they tried to drag the dolly up the them. My original estimate for this move that they gave me, based on the number of rooms and furniture items that I had, was for $450 and that I would need the minimum number of hours they require for any move of 3 hours. I know this was just an estimate, but when I got the actual bill at the end of it, it was almost $1200 plus the $100 security deposit which is nearly 3 times the amount I was quoted, which is a ridiculous amount to be off by. I had the same number of items moved last year in 2.5 hours with no damages and the same amount of people the year before when I moved into my apartment. The customer service rep was unsurprisingly very unhelpful and did not seem to care much about any of the things that went wrong during this move. So due to the poor quality of the moving experience, I now have wasted several hours getting the information for the claims, repairing and buying new items, and getting my brand new staircase repainted. In case my review isn't clear enough, you should go anywhere but People-Move moving for your next move!

Colt Moving - Haven't found any out there to replace it and fixing it will cost more than the measly insulting amount they gave me!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a moving company…read more We hired this company after a flood to pack up our belongings so repairs could be done and then move everything back in. We paid a very large amount for this service and also paid extra for their insurance coverage specifically to protect our valuables. During the packing process, they broke several items worth thousands of dollars. When we filed a claim, instead of taking responsibility or honoring the insurance we paid for, the owner was rude, dismissive, and outright hostile. We were essentially told "too bad, you should've packed it yourself," and "if you didn't want it broken, you shouldn't have hired us." That is completely unacceptable, especially from a business that charges for professional packing and insurance. Not only did they fail to protect our belongings, but they also refused to fairly address the damage and spoke to us in a shockingly unprofessional and offensive way. We trusted them during an already stressful time after a flood, and they made the situation much worse. I strongly warn others: do not use this company if you care about your property or expect basic professionalism and accountability. Paying extra for their insurance meant nothing, and the way we were treated afterward was insulting and outrageous.
