1L Calamansi mango green tea with pearls
Rosemarie T.

First time, had me at 1L. It's my first stroll around this area and as it was a hot summer day, I felt it necessary to get some bubble tea. I chose this one over the others because of its great value. One whole litre when at other places I would have gotten a small size for the same price. I went for a Calamansi mango green tea with pearls because it said it uses real mango pieces and had chia seeds. The lady told me it was her favourite, and I understand why. Refreshing, the right amount of sweetness, and jam packed with awesomeness. I never thought I could love a green tea bubble tea more. A must try! Lovely service, quick, and eager for my next visit.

Whenever we venture out to Coquitlam (I have a lot family here), Ninja Bubble Tea is one of the bubble tea spots that we go to. I am usually a milk tea kinda person when it comes to Ninja because I know they make their milk teas fresh every time. You can definitely taste the difference compared to other bubble tea chains. Fiance on the other hand likes their fruit teas. He is always trying a new one on each visit. And he always gets the 1L size (because he loves bubble tea so much). They are always pretty tasty!

This was an interesting experience. We got a passionfruit green tea with pearls, and a black milk tea with pearls. Both were HEAVY on the tea flavour. I liked that, my wife thought it was too strong and overpowered the other flavours. The pearls were a weird consistency. slimy and mushy on the outside, tough on the inside. Not the freshest I guess? The food menu items are all enticing. I'll come back for another review after I try one of their japadog-style hot dogs or asian flared fry-poutine thingies.

Review: Okay I acknowledge the fact that this picture looks horrible and I would like the apologize for that. I really wanted to post this cuz I NEVER BOUGHT 1 FULL LITRE OF BUBBLE TEA!!!! I just want a comparison to show how much bigger my 1 Litre is LOLOL. The bubble tea was really good but it this place seems to be a bit inconsistent as my friend got the same refresher but hers tasted a lot more watered down and my other friend wanted to die because apparently her strawberry fruit tea made her eyes sting. Might be her own allergic reaction but I tried her drink and it was super sweet like unbearably sweet. Other than that, my drink was well made and I would come again if I didn't have the concerns I have because of the inconsistency.

This use to be my go to place when I lived in Coquitlam, but now I only have it once in a blue moon. Always a vibe when I go here. Staff and service is pretty good. Best part, is that you can get a litre sized boba cup. I like getting their specialty slush withe the Nutella or the ferrero rocher with pearls.

Phil in front of Ninja BBT

Ninja Bubble Tea is my go-to bubble tea store. But today, I was enlightened to find that it was so much more -- it was a business that benefits the community and goes far beyond just amazing bubble tea. I had the opportunity to interview the founder, Phil, on a one-to-one basis for an entrepreneurship project that I was doing for school. Not only did Phil show us warm hospitality, he spoke with us as friends and answered almost 15 questions that took up just over an hour. He spent time with us and made sure we felt welcome in his store that he built with his very own hands. From everything he said, you really understand how much Ninja means to him and to all his employees. I can't think of any other business that helps in the community as much as Ninja. Its core philosophy, beyond bubble tea, is to help out in its local community from school events to non profits. I'm glad that such as business exists in my area. Now back to the food, the milk tea bubble tea was awesome. Tasted just like it should with just the right amount of sweetness. Will be back for sure.

I dropped by today for a small lunch and drinks with a friend. I've seen pictures of the place and of the food and I've been excited to try it out. It's a small store but it's very tidy and you can see all the ingredients they have as well as different tea bags. Their drink menu is quite big and they all sounded great. I gave in to the Nutella banana smoothie and we shared the sour cream perogies. Well first, the drink was really good. It tasted fresh and just like ... Nutella and bananas. I didn't try my friends drink but she goes back all the time for the drink so I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's good as well. The perogies were really good as well, and steaming hot. But for me personally I really wanted to try their tater tot poutine, but they were sold out :( I'll be back to try that next time :)

After eating nearby at Moa Box, my date wanted a mango slush for dessert. We ended up here and it turned out to be happy hour ($1 off drinks). My date ordered the 1 litre cup of mango slush. The value is there as it was under $5. I saw staff pour out mango pulp from a jug to make the drink. It was not the best tasting mango slush I have tried, but we were both impressed size of the drink. They also serve some food items (e.g. instant noodles, pastries and hotdogs). There was a hot drinks menu offered as well. This place is geared towards the younger crowd. There was some seating but most of it was taken up by college students hanging out.

Flavour got ninja'D! 1L drink sounded fantastic till you taste the nasty flavoured after taste! Had Taro...nasty nasty

Food (tea) 3/5, ambience 3/5, service ?? Average bubble tea place, but they have unique flavours worth trying (i.e. Oreo) and big 1L size cup! In terms of sitting, there aren't too many and the seats are fairly uncomfortable. High people traffic with loud music make this place not ideal place for quiet talk.

I guess my 6.50 drink (on the right) consists of 5.50 for the drink and a dollar for air..

Oh Ninja.. why have your standards fallen so.. I understand that the there's a general age demographic that you cater to but it really pains me to say that I've been deeply disappointed by you in my last few trips to Ninja. There are constant mistakes in my drinks or just poor standards all around in the taste and service. We constantly get drinks where the add ons like pearls or jellies are nonexistant or just drinks that arent filled to the top. When you're paying for a 6 smth 1L drink, you really do expect it to be filled somewhat to the top or at least not obviously filled with air on the top. Another drink had pearls that arent seen by the naked eye..an employee had to point them out to me when I asked if she forgot them altogher. This all depends on the employee making your drinks of course but be prepared if you're visiting during happy hour after 9pm to be serviced by employees that definitely dont seem to care too much about quality of their drinks. Maybe come during the day when management is working..

Bryan W.

Friendly staff, drinks came really quickly! I ordered a fresh fruit smoothy with no sugar added and they made the drink nicely with fresh fruit! We ordered the poutine as well, and that didn't seem exceptional for the price they are a bit higher.

Just getting some drinks

Neat place but the tea that my wife and myself ordered was really over-steeped and bitter. Can't see coming back.

When I saw him making my drinks, he barely added any taro paste--just a thin layer around the cup. I asked him to put all the taro into one cup since there was almost none in mine, and he tried to charge me extra just to add the regular amount that should have been included in the first place. The drinks were tasteless, and the brown sugar pearls were dry because he had run out of brown sugar and was making it while preparing my drinks. When I complained about the drinks being made incorrectly, he offered to remake them--but I couldn't wait another 30 minutes for a drink. I used to be a regular customer, but I've noticed the quality going downhill every time I come. I will definitely be finding another spot for boba.

This place is definitely on our comeback list. We tried the roasted milktea and ribena lime soda. Both were pretty good. Only downside is the location is kinda weird with parking in the side back with other shops . And limited parking around the area. For out of town people like us it could be a bit challenging finding Parking. We were lucky to find a spot in the back. I feel like that's the issues with a lot of Asian malls with restaurants and shops. But I highly recommend this boba place if you're always on the hunt for good milktea places no matter where you traveling to :)

When we met up with her in Coquitlam and talked about going for bubble tea, she suggested Pearl Fever and so that's where we went.  Last time we went, it was during a BOGO promotion. Since there was no promotion this time, I had a closer look at their regular menu this time. Their offerings include: milk teas, green & black teas, specialty drinks, fruit smoothies, milky smoothies and flavoured milks.  There is also a "Create Your Own Smoothie" option where you can pick 2 flavours from a list of flavors. After picking your two flavours the next step is to choose a base from the following options: water, green tea, black tea, milk tea, whole milk, oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, cream  You can then customize your drink with different Blend Ins (eg. Oreo) or Shots (eg.Honey). Our daughter decided to try this "Create Your Own Smoothie" option. She chose Peach and Mango as her two flavor, water as her base, and lychee jelly as a topping. She loved it.  Our friend chose Tofu Pudding and I chose Honey Peach Soda. Good, solid choices but next time I might try the "Create Your Own Smoothie" option.  I was overjoyed to see that they allow people to bring in their own reusable cups and that they offer a $0.10 discount for it!  Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free Location: #340 - 3025 Lougheed Hwy., Coquitlam, BC

The only thing is, the pearls aren't sweet. The girl who served me was the sweetest and even left me a message on my cup!

I have visited other rolled ice cream places before, so the process of making the ice cream was the same as other stores, but it was still fun to watch. A notable point was that they offer unlimited toppings, which I didn't know--so it was a nice surprise! I chose strawberry jelly, cookies, whipped cream, and marshmallows. Because of the whipped cream, the rolled ice cream was partially covered, but overall, it looked very nice and cute. Compared to other stores, the ice cream started melting quickly, but the taste was very good--I liked it! Next time, I would like to try a waffle or a drink. I was always hesitant of Poke because I HATE sesame oil and the fish is usually pre doused in if, but it this place you literally chose every ingredient and sauce in it every step of the way, so when they asked about the sesame oil... NO THANK YOU :D I would relate this service as similar to the freshe bowls, except obviously more with an Asian twist based on ingredient selection. You choose your base, rice kale or spinach (or half and half which I chose), a protein (I chose salmon and ricotta cheese), base ingredients which they all mix with the protein (I chose edamame beans, chickpeas, pineapple, onions and massago - once they mixed all of this with the salmon and ricotta it was super yummy and creamy), and then finalize it with a few topings (imitation crab, pico de gallo, crispy onions and seeweed flakes). Finally I topped it all with some ponzu sauce which is like soy sauce but lighter and a little more citrusy. My bowl was to die for. So flavorful but still light and healthy. I got a small size which was still very big. The only down side is obviously the price, the small was around $11, but if you compare it to sushi with the amount you get and the quality it's not bad at all. My sushi usually comes to at least around $20 because fish seems to be very expensive these days haha. Highly recommend!!
