I was always happy until recently when I was charged $20 to have the polish removed from my feet and nothing to have it removed from my hands. It cost $154 for a mani-pedi. The prices are never the same although they have a price chart. The young man who did my feet seems like he was out to gouge me, kept asking if I liked the service. I had my nails done on November 3. It took four hours to get a pedicure and a full set of nails. The girlfriend I went in with had to sit for 45 minutes to wait for her nails to get done even though we made an appointment together. When I was getting my nails done, they had a dirty second shelf underneath that where you could see the nail dust flying up the idiot that was doing my nails did not know how to not use the drill on your cuticles so I would "YELP" and pull my hand back and he just grab it and shake it a little bit and bring it back in. I left with all of my cuticles bleeding Four days later I had three infected nail beds with pus oozing from them. I could barely touch my fingers to anything I got in touch with my doctor immediately and he ordered antibiotics for the infection on the 15th after calling my doctor. They suggested I go to the emergency room. I happen to be back in Traverse City, which is not where I live and had to go to an urgent care center where while being on antibiotics five more nails became infected. They also prescribed me Vicodin because the pain was so tremendous on the 25th. I went in to my regular doctor Again now being treated for the third time with no relief diagnose me with having MRSA which is deadly and you can also lose your limbs now having eight infected nails with no relief after two rounds of antibiotics and being on Vicodin for weeks I've now been prescribed five different things to try and combat MRSA Wish me luck. This place needs to be shut down. They are dangerous! read more

I love Ninety Nails at the Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City, Mi! I always ask for Leon! He does a very nice job and he is very easy to talk to!! A very professional place to get a pedicure! My 1 1/2 hours spent is so worth the money! Leon uses cucumbers and wraps my legs! Then massages my legs and feet with the nicest lotion to make the time there very enjoying. I was a little nervous when I saw the poor reviews for this. I am in from out of town for a wedding and needed a gel manicure. I walked in on a Friday evening. I was seated immediately. The tech that worked on my nails was absolutely fantastic. He did a really good job with my cuticles. The polish looks great. He spent an hour doing a gel manicure and I skipped the lotion and hand massage just because I was in a bit of a hurry at that point, but he did a very thorough job. I was very impressed I would highly recommend. Again, I was really surprised this location had such poor reviews based on my experience. read more

Let me preface this by saying i havent had issues with them before today and that i will NOT be going back. Holy cow. I made an appt, showed up at my appt time, the decided to take two walk ins even though i made an appt. So they didnt take me back untill 15 passed my appt. Time. I had an older man who sat at the back right station. He was so irritated from the get go. He left to take a cigarette break while my polish soaked. Came back and was extremely aggressive with the drill and cut me three times. Didnt ask if or how i wanted my nails filed, he just went ahead and did it. Then he cut me so bad! He didnt apologize or say anything, just kept trying to make it stop bleeding and got irritated with me as if it was my fault he cut me. I am still bleeding, you can see through all of my nail polish because he didnt take the time to put on three coats. Never ever everrrrrr again. read more

The worst experience I ever had! Had my toenails polished, and they smudge three different times! The first time they were polished, I went to go buy sandals, and noticed they were smudged! Went back in and they redid them with my new sandals on I asked her do you want me to take my sandals off? She said no that's OK. We can do it with your sandals on! I couldn't believe what I was experiencing! she got polish on my new sandals, so she bought them from me ! After the second time leaving there, I went to buy sandals again, and the same thing happened. They were smudged, so I went back for the third time. Was very reluctant about the "mall nail idea" and very pleased. This place offered "drinks", very unexpected! So I don't drink but if I did, I think that would make for a great experience. The gal offered me a water and served it in a glass with ice - nice touch! Very spacious so I wasn't staring at every sin glee person and there was an TV to watch if I wanted. Pricing is not cheap, but well worth the extra touches and attention to detail that I appreciate. I'll come back when I travel here again. read more

I was not impressed today. First of all, my technician was just a little "overly friendly" and not professional. Several times during the service he was watching the television while half messaging lotion into my feet. At the end, I basically ignored any attempts at "conversation" because they just weren't appropriate, in my opinion. But in the attempt to ignore him I wasn't watching how he was cutting my nails or painting them. To my disgust, when I went to put my shoes on, I noticed that all my nails were cut on a slant- like what the heck! And! There were smudges of nail polish all over the sides of my toes. I will not be returning! One last note, I know that people don't typically come to nail salons for the massage chairs, but I at least would like to be relaxed, these chairs were SO uncomfortable my butt hurt by the end and the buttons were not working correctly either making it an overall frustrating experience. read more

I don't even know where to start... I walked in to the store asking to get my nails done and the first thing before I could even speak people were saying what do you want! Like I was invading their personal space. So i made the appointments for my friend and I and one of the ladies said to me (male) oh your getting your nails done too? Like I wasn't supposed to be there even though they have male workers, they completely were rushing with my nails and I just got short square ones, with black polish, nothing special and completely BUTCHERED my cuticles I am MOST LIKELY never going back there and nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING WAS SANITARY, there were nail clippings all over the counters, they used the same brush to clean my hands that they used to wipe the tables, they had their filling drill bits in a little half cut water bottle container FULL ground up nails and powder and didn't even double check my nails to see if they were good very disappointed and one of the employees walked by and looked right at me and said "you have very bad natural nails" and the person working on my nails just laughed and said yeah, I didn't say anything because I was embarrassed. And I don't want to judge but I think the reason I was getting treated like that was because I was a male in a nail salon. I was not happy read more

This place makes me wait over an hour every single time. They make me pay in the middle of my service because they never believe I will actually pay. They beg for tips and make you feel like you have to give them a tip. Why would I give them a tip if they made me wait an hour + while every 20 minutes they would tell me 15 min 15 min. I give tips if I like the service and if the nails come out good. I don't appreciate how they treat me and they make me feel poor because I am the only one they make pay beforehand.... disappointed with this establishment and the results have been the same the last time I went. I stopped in here as a walk-in and only had a 45 min wait! They called me as soon as they were ready and I came right in. I got my usual dip powder and they turned out great! I am shocked to read the reviews of this place. This place has the most incredible pedicures I have ever received. I can't speak to the nails because I didn't have mine done. But, I had the most relaxing beautiful pedicure. I chose the Orange/Mandarian. She spent at least 1 hour - 1.5 hours massaging, priming, parafinning, hot stones, etc. I was really impressed considering I'm from Chicago and frequent nail salons & spas frequently. I kid you not, this was one of the best pedicures I've received in my life. Do yourself a favor and splurge. Of course it was more expensive then the standard $35, but mine was anything but standard. I've tried to give them 3 chances to redeem themselves. The first time I got a French acrylic and they left nail polish all in my cuticles and didn't push them back so when I went to push them back and clean the leftover nail polish they needed to be redone because it looked like a weeks worth of regrowth. I decided I'd give them another chance and so I went in and they did push my cuticles back and completely ignored my request for square nails and rounded them off and left large bare gaps on the side of my nails as if they only painted the top of my nails not my sides. Up a friend convinced me to give them one last chance because she loves it there, and so I did... Same issue. Didn't push my cuticles back and they're crooked. I don't expect perfection but for paying $45 I atleast expect straight nails and my cuticles pushed back. I highly don't recommend this place. read more

They are very rude, even when greeted as a new customer. The guy who did my nails was super rough - pulling and pushing my hands back. As he was filing my nails with the electric filer, I felt the edges of my finger burn (each time). I would pull away, but that didn't stop him from doing it. He questioned who did my nails prior, as he was getting ready to insult them, but based on his quality of work, they have no room to talk. I would never go back.
