This place is always crazy busy in the tourist season, med-busy rest of the year. Best to call ahead for a walk-in, or make an appointment ahead. Hard pressed to give a number rating; up until my last visit (spring '25) I'd always had a good basic pedi there. Last time, not so much. Tech was friendly; a seasonal worker, but my pedi barely lasted a week before looking shabby. I expect a month, yo! Also - prices went up which is fine, but not for sub-service. Am scoping out other spots in TVC. read more

Got a new full set of pink & white as a French manicure. I can't remember my tech's name. After it was all said and done, my nails were extremely thick, very odd. She didn't file them too well, as the underneaths were jagged, if that makes sense. In addition, each nail had a different file finish after I looked at them closely. I saw the same tech for a fill a few weeks later, and not by choice. I mentioned the above issues. She said she'd fix those, but didn't. She didn't speak much English. I tipped her very well each visit. Perhaps she's not truly licensed or had no licensed training. I didn't look for a license, but doesn't mean there wasn't one. It's a nice salon. I was a walk-in both times and was seen immediately. The color selection looked adequate. I didn't see any chairs for spa pedicures, so I can't comment on that. read more

I walked in around 11:30 on Saturday morning to see if I could get a pedicure. I was greeted and they fit me in right away. Foot soak, massage, exfoliation, toenails trimmed, cuticles pushed back and trimmed, and all while getting the chair massage. It all seemed hygienic, and I was very relaxed. Reminded me of why I shouldn't bother to do this for myself. read more

Protip: free wifi. A nice surprise, perhaps it'll come in handy for someone... On to the pedicure. In my pre-return-to-the-expensive-UK beauty mission, LA Nails was on my list before departing TC. Needed a pedicure, badly. LA Nails fit the bill, here we go... No wait, good scrubdown, decent massage chair. Decent polish selection. Overall this place isn't exactly posh (obviously) but it gets the job done. Basically all of the TC cheapie nail places are exactly the same so I am not sure I can recommend any over the other, which keeps everyone on a pretty level playing field. So I left LA Nails $23 + tip lighter, and with pretty lavendar purple toes! 3 stars for that alone. 35 minutes, in and out. Good drying station. *They do take cards, but no personal checks. There are signs saying this. Apparently people still try to write them up here, but it won't work at LA Nails, you've been warned. read more

I highly recommend this place! I've tried a few local places, not all mind you, I have had acrylics and pedicures here and they did an awesome job!! It's also a clean, bright, reasonably priced and friendly environment! Staff is awesome and they really seem to care! I highly recommend this place! read more

Me and my friend went into get our nails done today. U asked for one French and they gave me a very thick straight line, my friend was supposed to get a light blue flame and the man couldn't do it with the color and said "it was to light" keep in mind her nails were light blue. He gave her a bright red flame with black out line when we tried to just ask for all blue nail.. not coming here again read more

First time mani/pedi. Austin did my pedicure. He was quick, careful, and fabulous. The polish looks great and my feet feel happy! I did not catch the nail of the gentleman who did my nails; I had a powder dip I think it is called. VERY impressed overall. I might try to make this a monthly ritual. read more

Okay I have to write an update and give a downgrade - my nails chipped like, the second day, and my nails have been really brittle ever since I went here. I realize that has some to do with lack of biotin, but they also filed my nails in a weird way. Think I'll find somewhere else... read more

This is my little hidden gem. Everyone is so sweet and does an amazing job every time! Danny is my fav. Call ahead to book him, precision painting and just the best. I love all of the talented, patient, and very professional staff. They all always go above and beyond excellent customer service xx read more

Honestly, this is one of the best "budget friendly" nail salons I have been to in town. I am EXTREMELY particular about the shape of nail (almond and stiletto hybrid) and they are the only nail salon in Traverse City that makes my nails exactly how I want them. This involves a great deal of hand filing and angle comparison. My tech checks frequently to ensure that my nails are the same shape and that it is the way I want them. After four visits, he knows me by sight and remembers the shape, the fact I bring my own polish, and that I like one accent nail on my index finger. Given the volume of business, I find this impressive. I also love their pedis. I have gross feet as I stand 40-60 hours a week but when I leave I feel renewed. I don't want to hide my feet but show of my glossy and gorgeous toes. The reason they aren't getting five stars is twofold. I find their polish selection for non-shellac lacquer a bit lacking. I have 500 plus polishes at home so no big deal for me as I prefer my own but they definitely could use more colors and a broader selection of finishes. The second is the most frustrating. While appointments aren't required, there is usually 3-5 people waiting. However even with an appointment, I have waited on average of 45 minutes to receive services. If they weren't so good and so inexpensive, this would be a major deal breaker. I bring a fully charged phone or book and it works out but I wish there was more organized. Would not recommend if you have a tight schedule but other than that, they rock my glittery talons of doom! read more

I've come here before and absolutely loved the experience, but today was a complete 180 experience. I wasn't very happy with how my nails were being done and how they turned out. The older man that was doing my nails continually hurt me and kept being rough and pressing too hard. He was getting frustrated by my arm not being positioned correctly but instead of helping and asking me to adjust it he yanked it around and huffed and sighed. I didn't enjoy the experience at all and I'm sad to say it because I loved it here before. All of my nails are either glued crooked or filed crooked but the nails aren't the same length and are all crooked. I'm not happy with how they turned out, which sucks because I loved it here. read more

I walked in and there was 1/2 hr wait so I said I would be back. I came back and within 10 minutes they had me in a chair getting my acrylic nails filled in. The guy did a great job, wish I could remember his name. Lisa did my eyebrow/lip wax. Love it love it! There were people calling to make appts and they were accepting them in the mid afternoon. They seem popular, so if you want to get in make an appointment or wait around. read more

This nail salon is the Worst in Traverse City! I spent 80.00 with my step daughter getting a 2 pedicures and a manicure ! Nothing fancy, but hey... you can't go wrong with a pedicure in a massage chair! The staff was very friendly and the salon was quiet. The atmosphere was familiar and comfortable... like going to your bff's house to get a mani pedi. Will def be back. read more

I LOVE going here. This was my go-to nail salon while I lived in TC and I love it. Austin always did my nails and he did a wonderful job on my toes and nails always. When I would call to make an appointment with him I would just say hello and he knew it was me right away. I really miss this place. Austin (the manager, or owner, not sure which) is the BEST. He and his family are so nice Really, really, miss going here. read more

They do good work BUT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS. Three times in a row, I made an appointment, yet when I got there no one knew anything about my appointment. Twice confirmed by text, once on the phone. The 3rd time, they wanted to know what number I called, I showed her my phone, it was the right number, then I was told their other location answered because they get precedence-REALLY ???? read more

Got acrylics here before spring break. Three weeks later they are still on with no signs of budging. Polish selection is decent at best. They have way more gel shellac options only because they want you to do that so they get more money. Pedicure is decent. Overall nice and pretty clean. Fairly cheap too. read more

This place is nice and clean. They are very friendly and competent. Their equipment is in great shape (massage pedicure chairs worked really well) Jenny did a fantastic job on my toes! read more

Loved the experience I had at this Salon. La Nails was close by work and I was feeling like treating myself to a mani/ pedi. Walked in and was able to sit down in a chair immediately. The guy that did my nails took time and made sure all my cuticles were cut and nails filed and loved the foot massage. He did an amazing job on both my hands and feet and for only 35 for both! It's been two days since and the color hasn't chipped at all which is awesome for a regular manicure. Definitely will be going back again! read more

Jenny is by far the BEST nail tech I've ever seen!!! I always request her and have ALWAYS left with the best experience!!

Terrible nail service. Too rough with the clients. Leaves nail residue on hands. Don't plan on going there again. Over charge clients if they just needed a polish taken off. read more

Not what it used to be. The person doing my pedicure was watching TV while massaging my legs and feet. Barely covered the basics. Will look for an alternative - and we've been regulars for 4+ years. read more

Very clean and pretty careful place. Would like it better if they did two things: 1) used hot towels and 2) shoulder massages at end of service while drying. That would move them to a five star in my opinion read more

Great place. Everyone does a good job-they pay attention to what they are doing & are very particular about their work.

I have been going to LA Nails for years and have never had a bad experience! it is not a highend salon. It is run by a nice Vietnamese family and everyone is always pleasent and hard working. read more
