This place is always crazy busy in the tourist season, med-busy rest of the year. Best to call ahead for a walk-in, or make an appointment ahead. Hard pressed to give a number rating; up until my last visit (spring '25) I'd always had a good basic pedi there. Last time, not so much. Got a new full set of pink & white as a French manicure. I can't remember my tech's name. After it was all said and done, my nails were extremely thick, very odd. She didn't file them too well, as the underneaths were jagged, if that makes sense. In addition, each nail had a different file finish after I looked at them closely. I saw the same tech for a fill a few weeks later, and not by choice. I mentioned the above issues. She said she'd fix those, but didn't. She didn't speak much English. I tipped her very well each visit. Perhaps she's not truly licensed or had no licensed training. I didn't look for a license, but doesn't mean there wasn't one. It's a nice salon. I was a walk-in both times and was seen immediately. The color selection looked adequate. I didn't see any chairs for spa pedicures, so I can't comment on that. read more

I walked in around 11:30 on Saturday morning to see if I could get a pedicure. I was greeted and they fit me in right away. Foot soak, massage, exfoliation, toenails trimmed, cuticles pushed back and trimmed, and all while getting the chair massage. It all seemed hygienic, and I was very relaxed. Protip: free wifi. A nice surprise, perhaps it'll come in handy for someone... On to the pedicure. In my pre-return-to-the-expensive-UK beauty mission, LA Nails was on my list before departing TC. Needed a pedicure, badly. LA Nails fit the bill, here we go... No wait, good scrubdown, decent massage chair. Decent polish selection. Overall this place isn't exactly posh (obviously) but it gets the job done. Basically all of the TC cheapie nail places are exactly the same so I am not sure I can recommend any over the other, which keeps everyone on a pretty level playing field. So I left LA Nails $23 + tip lighter, and with pretty lavendar purple toes! 3 stars for that alone. 35 minutes, in and out. Good drying station. *They do take cards, but no personal checks. There are signs saying this. Apparently people still try to write them up here, but it won't work at LA Nails, you've been warned. read more

I've come here before and absolutely loved the experience, but today was a complete 180 experience. I wasn't very happy with how my nails were being done and how they turned out. The older man that was doing my nails continually hurt me and kept being rough and pressing too hard. He was getting frustrated by my arm not being positioned correctly but instead of helping and asking me to adjust it he yanked it around and huffed and sighed. I didn't enjoy the experience at all and I'm sad to say it because I loved it here before. All of my nails are either glued crooked or filed crooked but the nails aren't the same length and are all crooked. I'm not happy with how they turned out, which sucks because I loved it here. read more

Honestly, this is one of the best "budget friendly" nail salons I have been to in town. I am EXTREMELY particular about the shape of nail (almond and stiletto hybrid) and they are the only nail salon in Traverse City that makes my nails exactly how I want them. This involves a great deal of hand filing and angle comparison. My tech checks frequently to ensure that my nails are the same shape and that it is the way I want them. After four visits, he knows me by sight and remembers the shape, the fact I bring my own polish, and that I like one accent nail on my index finger. Given the volume of business, I find this impressive. I also love their pedis. I have gross feet as I stand 40-60 hours a week but when I leave I feel renewed. I don't want to hide my feet but show of my glossy and gorgeous toes. The reason they aren't getting five stars is twofold. I find their polish selection for non-shellac lacquer a bit lacking. I have 500 plus polishes at home so no big deal for me as I prefer my own but they definitely could use more colors and a broader selection of finishes. The second is the most frustrating. While appointments aren't required, there is usually 3-5 people waiting. However even with an appointment, I have waited on average of 45 minutes to receive services. If they weren't so good and so inexpensive, this would be a major deal breaker. I bring a fully charged phone or book and it works out but I wish there was more organized. Would not recommend if you have a tight schedule but other than that, they rock my glittery talons of doom! read more

I LOVE going here. This was my go-to nail salon while I lived in TC and I love it. Austin always did my nails and he did a wonderful job on my toes and nails always. When I would call to make an appointment with him I would just say hello and he knew it was me right away. I really miss this place. Austin (the manager, or owner, not sure which) is the BEST. Got acrylics here before spring break. Three weeks later they are still on with no signs of budging. Polish selection is decent at best. They have way more gel shellac options only because they want you to do that so they get more money. Pedicure is decent. Overall nice and pretty clean. Fairly cheap too. read more

Loved the experience I had at this Salon. La Nails was close by work and I was feeling like treating myself to a mani/ pedi. Walked in and was able to sit down in a chair immediately. The guy that did my nails took time and made sure all my cuticles were cut and nails filed and loved the foot massage. He did an amazing job on both my hands and feet and for only 35 for both! It's been two days since and the color hasn't chipped at all which is awesome for a regular manicure. Definitely will be going back again! read more
