This is my favorite venue. There's something magical about seeing bands here that you just can't get from bigger corporate venues. They provide a much more intimate space to watch shows and possibly die in the pit Free parking, re-entry, no Ticketmaster bullshit, chill staff, and great headlining acts. One of the few venues that caters heavily to the metal/hardcore scene, and it's much appreciated. Lot's of great restaurants around too. Our favorite place to go before the show is Goat and Ram pizza, which is just a short walk down the road. read more

Super fun place. I've never been here before. My maps app took me to the front of The Nile which is a coffee shop by day. But I actually was here for the Serpents Tour with Plastique Tiara & Nymphia Wind at 8pm. And since the coffee shop was closed, I made my way to the back alley. There were several others who went to the front like me. It would've been great if they had a sign directing people to the back entrance. The back entrance is the real entrance to access the stage and concert. Bathrooms were a little cramped but worked. The concert was in a big room where it was standing room only but there were some places on the side of the big room that were cement/built into the wall. There was a big sound/lighting rig in the center of the room. I got the feeling that the stage had some safety concerns bc the performers kept referencing concerns they would fall. There was no food served. But there were some select soda (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi) and select IPA and non alcoholic beers. No clear soda. The show was amazing! I had an amazing time. The venue definitely had grungy vibes so if it's what you're into - they were great! read more

Came here to see Pkastique and Nymphia wind from Rupaul drag race. The show was fabulous. The Nile welcomed everyone warmly and the vibe was so loving and chill. Everyone was dancing by the stage and cheering on the queens. Lighting was good and the sound system equally good. Bravo for having such a quality act in Main Street Mesa. read more

I was here for the K Camp concert yesterday and this was my first time at the Nile Theater, they have a coffee shop inside then in the back is where the theater is. This is a smaller venue, and sadly to say we experienced so many technical difficulties during the performance. The lights, music, mic kept shutting off so many times mid performance. The artists were getting upset. They also need to add more fans in here or a better AC flow going. It was super hot inside they ended up passing around water bottles for us which was nice. The coffee shop was cute, I did not try anything but it did look good. The staff were being very friendly and accommodating. I personally just don't think I'll come back to the Nile theater for a concert, or I might just to give it another shot and see if same experience, we shall see! read more

Smaller sized venue, but the perfect setting for a metal show. My friend and I throughly enjoyed seeing one of my favorite bands Dark Divine. The security was friendly and kept the mosh pit safe - thank you!!! Even the staff at the bar and merchandise tables were super friendly as well. Drinks weren't terribly priced for a venue, so this is one of my better experiences seeing a show recently. Definitely book another show here as tickets were reasonable and we enjoyed ourselves. read more

Second time checking out the Nile Theater this past weekend to hear The Mezingers, Microwave, Rodeo Boys and Cloud Nothings. The first visit, was not the most amazing, as the roof was leaking and the show ran immensely behind, but not sure who that reflects, so happy to visit again. This second visit was much more enjoyable! Some general deets, the Nile Theatre is located on the backside of their coffee shop in the alley. They have a lot connected that's great for parking, if you are able to find a spot, as they share it with some of their Mesa DT staples. This is an all ages venue, so they do not permit vapes and such, but does have alcoholic beverages available on site. They enforce a small bag check as well. It's a breeze getting through security, I am sure that part of that contributes to it being a smaller venue and we also got their at the beginning of the show. They then check your tickets the moment you enter the venue. It's very casual setup, The restrooms are also located right by the entrance, and honestly one of the only unideal aspects about the venue. I cannot speak for the mens, but sure it sports something similar, the women's has three or four stalls, one which does not feature a door, but a curtain. It's quite tiny and its location is not the most convenient. Once through the general area, you can find merch to the left and concessions on the right. Being a smaller venue, its not hard to get through the lines. They have some BEAST fans keeping movement in the air and on a chilly winter night, it's actually pretty brisk and not as warm as I would have expected with such a large amount of people. It's all standing, sound was good, merch and drinks were affordable (as well as our tickets), show was on time and overall, it was an enjoyable experience and love not having to fight massive crowds and lines. read more

Although the artist tried multiple times to keep going and still give a decent show, the building lacked the proper equipment to ensure this did not happen. I've visited the coffee shop before and have wanted to visit the theater for a while! Finally came here with some friends to see Little Stranger and I really liked this venue. The sound was amazing and it being a smaller venue made it feel like a more intimate experience. They did serve beer & seltzers inside. Drinks were a little over priced (~$15 for a large seltzer) but that is to be expected at any venue. Will definitely be back! read more

This venue was actually pretty cool. They have a cute little coffee, espresso, dessert bar when you first walk in. Just keep in mind if you are attending a concert here it's standing room only. They do have a few benches along one side of the wall. The space is quaint and for a small venue actually has good sound. I would give the restrooms three stars, but I'm not reviewing the restrooms, did I say that out loud. read more

I have been going to The Nile since high school around 2010. Almost all of my favorite shows have been at this venue. They have an underground, a main floor, and a coffee shop. They always have very welcoming staff and treat the bands kindly too. I love that this venue has reentry and parking in the area is accessible and easy. The only thing I'm iffy about is they're crowd surfing policy. I got kicked out once for crowdsurfing with no warning when I have been doing it for over a decade. I guess the policy changes based on what the band wants (even if they tell you to crowdsurf ). read more

Also, I could not stay through the THREE opening bands of a totally different genre (metal) to hang for the headliner show at 9:40 pm on a weeknight. I came here for the first time for BTS Nite, which was a space for dancing along to BTS music, buying items from local kpop vendors, and just having a good time with many kpop fans for the night. The event was fun and i definitely felt like there was plenty of space to accommodate all of us. I do wish there was better air ventilation: there were fans spread throughout the venue but for some reason they weren't turned on. I'd recommend coming here when it isn't so hot out, or mentally and physically preparing yourself for the heat. One of my other qualms was with the bag policy, which only allowed for fully clear bags or bags "the size of an envelope". The website or staff did not specify the size of the envelope to reference, so I ended up just not taking a bag. They do sell alcoholic drinks inside but I didn't buy any so I'm not sure of the prices. I did buy bottled water, which were $3 each and unfortunately they weren't even cold. I like that you can get here very easily by the metro rail if you wanna take public transport; the stop is only a few minutes away by walking. read more

This was my first visit to the Nile Theater, and it did not disappoint! My boys and I came to see Flotsam and Jetsam last night and arrived early enough to catch all the shows on tap for the evening. I love that this is historic location, it has so much character inside and out. The facility was clean, and thankfully it is well air conditioned as well. It only got a little warm towards the last band, but that is expected as so many more people were in attendance. The staff are all professional and polite and the bathrooms were in working order. The acoustics were incredible, and we had great views wherever we were in the room. I appreciated that they brought up the house lights between bands, that made it easier to make a trip to the bar or bathroom. The crowd were all very well behaved and it looked like everyone was having a great time. Flotsam kicked butt and rocked the house! This is definitely my favorite venue to see them in, it was awesome to be up front at the stage and witness the magic so close. There is also an area on the east side of the room that has a space to sit if you are so inclined, that was a real treat in and of itself. I am looking forward to seeing other shows here in the future, my boys and I had a great time! read more

Been going to shows here for 10 years, it's never been bad, but the last couple years this venue has really stepped it up. I think that's a product of hiring the right people and making sure their employees are happy. The people behind the bar, the indoor security, and the outdoor security have all been absolutely amazing and happy to be there. At the most recent show I went to, security went above and beyond to ensure crowd surfers and those in the pit were safe. They were so kind and respectful it really helped keep the vibes of the show so amazing. Happy to have this place in the community. read more

Have been to the coffee shop here, but never the venue. It was hard to find the entrance to the theater, but eventually we found it. This is a fun little basement theater, I like the art on the walls. There was almost no one at the event we went to, so I'm not sure how crowded it gets or what it's like when it's busy. I have a mix of strange feelings about the Nile and the shows that are thrown there. On one hand, the smaller artists I follow usually throw shows here and they're typically decently enjoyable- although there have been issues. One time the speakers got blown out and we all had to move downstairs. The security at the Nile is absolutely rude and accused me of smoking when it was the people next to me in the crowd and refused to believe me, and told me they would throw me out if I didn't comply and give them what I was using- which was, literally, nothing. I went here with my fiancée to see Dance with the Dead last night. Our show was at the 1st floor stage. The A/C was definitely working. For a live music venue, it was just what I expected and I don't mean that in a negative way. Neither of us felt unsafe or uncomfortable and the woman serving drinks was very nice. The line to get in was pretty long and that sucked, so get there about an hour prior to your show if it's a pretty well-known band with a following. All and all we had a lot of fun! read more

A great spot to view a wide variety of shows across all genres, from small intimate shows in the coffee shop to large shows in the theater. Lot of care and detail put into renovations like the new marquee recently, and it really shows. Staff always seems friendly and helpful, and some of my favorite shows have been here. read more

**DONT GO TO NILE UNDERGROUND SHOWS** Should be a crime this place is allowed to have shows in the basement when we're hitting near triple digits in az. Like the other poor reviews mentioned this place is a disaster waiting to happen. The Underground shows aesthetically might seem cool but as a concert goer once you feel when there's one too many people (which happens pretty quickly especially for sold out shows) you wanna gtfo of there as fast as you can to get some air. The air in there quickly turns hot and musty and stinky with zero ventilation or any type of air conditioning. There's fans around but they feel scarce and not practical in this type of venue (literally a basement). Also if you're short this venue blows- even if you show up early and get a good spot, you'll be put thru the GAUNTLET having to sit thru however many openers in the conditions stated above. It gets so bad that I swear to god I've seen people outside DURING the set everyone came to see (ie it wasn't worth watching your favorite band because it was either impossible to see or too hot). I've been going here for years, and I love every minute of it. Yeah, the AC sometimes is bad, but you're here for a good time, so who cares if you sweat. If you're paying $2 for a water bottle and complain that it's not cold, that's on you. Instead, ask for a Liquid Death. It's water from the Austrian Alps, and you'll get cold water in a can, for $2 more. The staff here are great, and the arizona music scene is alive and well here. Give The Nile a shot! read more

Decent sound, BUT...main room is ridiculously unorganized...poorly setup from the moment you walk in. Came to see an awesome band, was able to get pretty close to the stage and whomever is running the lights or programmed them needs to QUIT blaring them in the audiences eyes every few seconds. Thank goodness I don't have epilepsy, but this ruined my entire experience and made the $29.00 I spent on this show completely worthless, especially driving all the way from N Phoenix super excited for the show...please GAWD learn how to do lights without blinding the audience like an amateur, get some coordination with all the weird lines, standing room only, gets super hot inside mayhem. I am not one to leave poor reviews for music venues, especially after what most have endured getting back on their feet after the pandemic. However, this venue is extremely PROBLEMATIC and it is important to me that people know what they are getting themselves into when they are going to a show here. They do not have adequate cooling whatsoever, no easy access to water and there is nowhere to sit in the venue if you end up getting lightheaded. People were passing out, experiencing heat exhaustion, and attempting to escape the overcrowded venue to the outside AZ heat. That alone should tell you something. People who fainted were being treated as if they were intoxicated. They were yelled at to leave the venue by the rudest door person named Mary B. who was having a power trip and acting like she owned the place. It's clear she hates her job but the lack of empathy and care for the people who experience heat stroke or any other medical emergencies at this venue is disturbing. I have been to countless shows at other venues all over the US in the hottest part of summer but have never found myself in such dangerous conditions before. I can only imagine how many people have had heat strokes or have found themselves in other terrible situations just from trying to enjoy a show there. How they are allowed to operate like this is completely beyond me! To sum it up the people working at the venue are extremely unprofessional, the events are poorly planned, it is dangerously hot inside, the line takes forever to get in, and frankly the sound is not great. Your favorite band may be playing here but I promise you it is not worth the headache (which you will most certainly have once you leave here). Nile Theater...DO BETTER! read more

Security here is on a power trip. There is a short, round woman here who has been mentioned in several different reviews who accuses people of being drunk and kicking them out. She needs to be fired. She kicked me out after I asked her what the bag policy is. FOR asking what the policy is! I had a small black clutch I have taken to every other venue in the valley. Nile theatre is the ONLY theatre with a clear bag policy. No warnings, no signs like at other theatres with the policy too. Ruined my experience and a waste of money. read more

Went to see The Wrecks, and it was by far my worst experience at a venue. I've been to plenty of venues in the Phoenix area to confidently say this place is DANGEROUS. No water was provided to the hundreds of people standing in a line wrapped around the building in 105°+ weather... instead we had voter registration and radio station booths around the line. It was a brutal 20/30min (some people stood there for at least an hour). There was no AC in the 800 person venue in 100°+ weather. The swamp cooler system didn't kick on apparently because the humidity was above 50%... our only hope was in 4 small ceiling fans that did next to nothing. You couldn't even find relief in a cold bottle of water considering they only sold lukewarm bottled water. We immediately began to sweat after 5min in the venue. Half way through the first opener our skin was beyond sticky and by the beginning of the second opener, our clothes were completely damp... and we were in the back near the entrance. Two songs into the second opener I was getting black spots in my vision, light headedness and extreme nausea from being overheated. Luckily I am 22 (they were only allowing people with a 21+ wristband to leave and re-enter) so I got to go sit outside in the 101° alley for relief. Within 5min of being out in the alley, a girl was carried out from heat exhaustion with bags of ice and cold water... THIS IS ALL AN HOUR BEFORE THE HEADLINER EVEN CAME ON!!! The heat was so bad that 3/5 of us decided to Uber back home 40min before the headliner even came on. Those who stayed behind said it only continued to get hotter. They said the headliner stopped the show 3 times to make sure the crowd was okay, sending bottles of water and bags of ice into the crowd. By the time they got home, they said it felt like they jumped in a pool they were so soaked in sweat. Bottom line, this place is dangerous to go in the summer, and chances are you won't make it to the headliner without almost passing out of heat exhaustion. Will not be returning ever. read more

A solid venue, and probably the best in Mesa. Acoustics are good and there seems to be enough staff. Security is easy to get through- they didn't even check my mini backpack. The line wasn't very long. If you're under 21, you can't leave and return, so know before you go. Four stars are due to the bathroom condition and the lack of food options for those under 21. It wasn't too smoky, which I appreciate. Plenty of space for merch. I enjoyed meeting the band I came to see right outside the theater! It's well set up for intimacy, especially downstairs. Loved this venue! We came here last week for a concert, and absolutely had a blast. The staff for the most part was pretty friendly, the security guard when letting everyone in seemed to know everyone there which was cool to see. Loved the idea of the venue having a top and bottom venue. The bar was tucked in the corner of the room which I wish it was bigger cause there was one person working and a huge line during the entire time during our concert. I enjoyed the show nonetheless, would most likely come back if there was a show that we were interested in. It'd be cool to see this place during the day as well. read more

They appear to bring a good variety of bands in and the staff seemed friendly enough, but poor sound makes this a so-so venue. Just a large rectangular room, reminiscent of a high school gymnasium and all the acoustics to match.
