Salmon fish cakes with salad and chips
    Tere V.

I had higher expectations for their salmon fish cake since it's a beach town but wasn't satisfied with it at all. Very bready and dry with hardly any salmon. Pros: Good amount of chips and fresh side salad. Friendly customer service.

Throughout your meal, the wait staff are kind and go out of their way to fulfill requests. HIGHLY recommend with the hummus (and the amazing flatbread). Every dish was delicious, light, and topped with incredibly flavorful sauces that made for an all-around INCREDIBLE meal.

This is good in that you get to sample best of everything but drawback is you either have to be a gentleman or lady and hold back on going for seconds or be the greedy one. I was with a group of girls so I figured I was going to come out on top, but these girls had big appetites and I ended up on missing seconds mostly. The dishes are quite small so I think your going to end up having to order more then what you would normally but options were great. Some the food options we had were basturma, hommus & pickles ( nothing exceptional), haloumi with honey ( this dish had nice flavours and honey complimented it well) , chicken with zhoug ( tasted good and decent sized portion), pumpkin fatteh, with sour yogurt and pepitas ( pepitas really complimented this dish added a good crunch to the soft pumpkin ) , quail, fennel, currants & tamarid ( tasty dish but small and didn't get chance to savour it ) & final dish we had was fried cauliflower with almond tarator & mulberry molasses ( my favourite dish by far the cauliflower is perfectly spiced and creamy texture ). This place has a nice vibe. Small and intimate feel to it with nice cushions and decorated well. Would be great place for a date but think 3 people is enough to share dinner with unless you want to end up feuding.

When I questioned the bill, was given a receipt with a list of random prices he typed in. He got incredibly aggressive and threatening when questioned, in front of my child and mother. And had the nerve to say he Undercharged and told me to pay MORE!!! Felt little choice as he was so threatening and didn't want to get into an altercation in front of my family. Be warned! He should have his license removed. I've lodged a complaint with the fair trade commission so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I spoke with others who have told me that my experience is not unique. What a horrible person!

On the corner of Wairoa Avenue, this unassuming diner sits further enough back from the beach and Bondi's busy bars that it doesn't typically have hoards of people walking through the doors. This lack of patronage I initially took to be an indication of local's disapproval - a recent visit disproving this theory altogether. For $14, I ordered the unexpectedly massive falafel plate - five of them, plus the sauce of your choice (I went for a rich tomato puree) along with three salads (I ended up with the roast eggplant, tabouleh and cucumber and tomato options). They even gave me a little pot of tahini upon insistence. The restaurant space is pretty big considering the tiny counter from which to order, and is rarely populated in full, while the fluoro lighting doesn't do much in the way of ambience. Dismiss these minor points, and you're in for a deliciously affordable meal, Israeli style.
