Came by for groceries the other day and it was a decent experience. Nijiya market is a Japanese grocery store with a few outlets in the Bay Area. Parking is plentiful in the private strip mall lot. There is a hot deli serving ramen, chicken karaage and some other hot snacks during the day. There are also a few tables to eat such foods by the entrance. There is also a cold cooked food selection which feature sushi, bento boxes etc. The grocery store has a good mix of premium-esque meats, frozen seafood, some vegetables, along with chips, ramen etc. Staff almost all wear disposable nitrile gloves with their apron uniform.

Nijiya Market has always been my go to for Japanese groceries, fresh sushi-grade fish, sliced meats, prepared foods and imported sweet-and-savory snacks. I like this location as they have a hot bar of fried snacks and made to order noodles. Nijiya Market Mountain View is bigger than the San Mateo and San Jose location with plenty of lot parking. Organized and clean with helpful staff.

Recommended by the omakase chef, this market has amazing fresh ingredients, sashimi, and bento boxes. So I went to check it out and got a bunch of bento boxes and a sashimi box! It was so good, I'm definitely coming here often whenever I crave a quick Japanese meal!

My husband and I came here while in town, got some discounted closing sales at 20% off. He loves Nijiya Market, has been to all locations.

I like getting raw fish here and making sushi at home. Their fish very high quality at a pretty affordable price. I personally feel that the quality here is slightly better than HMart, but similar enough that I go to either

Been coming out here for the past few years and have a wide selection of bento, sushi rolls, sashima, udon and other prepackaged meals than the one in San Jose and far cheaper. Here they have dine-in food court reasonably price for under $10 ramen, udon and soba whereas you'll be paying alot more for around $15 at one of many ramen shops. Great bargains 3 croquettes for $4.99 even better 6 takoyaki balls for $5.79 and 6 inari sushi for $5.99 this store is fully pack with Japanese snacks, beer, ramen, frozen appetizers and much more. Wasn't too busy when I came by on a Thursday morning ample parking best to come by on a weekday than on a weekend when it's usually pack with shoppers.

Yeah, the huge restaurant in the center is a bit odd considering it's expensive, and did I mention huge? The Bakery is fire. I heart Sulppang. Ladies that work there are very nice. The shopping experience collectively is rather odd. The entire store is very dimly lit and it's a strange experience. At first, it feels like an upscale food court, filled with upscale large kiosk throughout the store. They have an amazing Sushi counter, and amazing meat counter. Almost anything you could possibly think of can be found, or freshly cut to order. Just as you're walking around, there's small areas where you might find fresh noodles, or some definite, unique food finds like fresh tteokbokki. Yes I needed to buy this! They have an entire beauty section that's filled with the variety of products, many of them overpriced, but also hard to find in the average marketplace. The fresh fruit area is small, but abundant. This is definitely worth a visit, if nothing more than the experience. You will find some amazing and unique items that are usually only found abroad.

Love the ample parking, prime location, and how spacious it is inside. The rewards system is essentially a 1% cash back at a 1000pt cliff -- meaning you get $10 after you spend $1000 but no redemptions before that. Being a member also doesn't get you any additional discounts vs non-members. But hey it's free so it doesn't hurt. I'll always support there being more Asian grocery stores in the West Side of the South Bay. H-Mart always had that spot for me, but now it's shared. Mega Mart's marketed as a more premium store, but it does its best when they're running sales. Price between the two are pretty neck and neck. You'll spend anywhere from $70-$200 per trip cuz the small things do add up. They used to have prepped food marked off anywhere from 30-70% off in the final and early hours of the day. Now, it's an inconsistent luck of the draw. However, I've never had an issue with food quality with anything I've purchased whether it be prepped food or raw ingredients. 4/5, solid store. Hope they continue to grow and thrive as a mainstay of the community.

They had the usual array of nonstick pots, which don't work very well for me. They had a small but useful section for clay pots. I thought Amazon and AliExpress had overpriced clay pots, but I was wrong. These prices were significantly higher. I can only hope these are the best of the best. Checking up on 99 Ranch, I couldn't even find clay pots in there more limited kitchen utensil section. I ran across one item where knockoffs are ubiquitous. They've completely flooded AliExpress and you have to watch it with Amazon. Hankook had the authentic item and at significantly lower price than both Amazon and Aldi express. I found a tea section to be well stocked. I also recognize some of the tea brands. 99 Ranch has gone with lower cost options, but if you buy 6 ounces of tea, are you gonna be stuck with an enormous supply. Better to go with reliable brands that I have enjoyed in the past. I loved the produce section. It was nice and fresh. It also had wider selection of produce than other supermarkets. The store itself is stunning. The the aisles are spacious. The store is meticulously clean. The shelves are fully stocked. There were only about two items which were shopped out. The snack area and the frozen foods were even more interesting. It's obvious in those two sections that there were many more Korean brands. I should've tried some, but it's hard for me to resist snacks and there was a good chance that would finish the entire bag in one go. Better to skip it entirely. The parking lot for the supermarket is spacious. I had no trouble finding a spot even though I arrived in the late afternoon when everybody has gotten off work. I live about two hours away. And I am very jealous because there is no Hankook near me.

Recently we came back…read moretwice, once on Sunday as I forgot that the paella was a Friday thing, so the staff told me that they usually have paella and clam chowder freshly cooked on Friday. They happened to have a small tub of Friday clam chowder left for sale, for a whopping $16! That price dropped my rating to a 4 star. Service is still 5, but man, the value proposition isn't as high as before. The clam chowder tasted good, creamy and all, but $16 for that is really hard to swallow. The store itself is clean and sells a variety of meat products and imported goods such as from Italy. We came again on Friday evening, at 5pm exact and saw the paella pan laid outside with some amount of paella piled up. The pan felt cold and we were confused if they haven't started cooking or those were the left over. So we went inside to ask and they said the paella was available starting at 5pm, so what's on the pan was cooked. We bought 1 portion, which feeds 2-3 and it came in two 16 oz tubs. For $35, it fed my husband and myself just right. The smoky flavor was on the rice with meat and lots of clams and mussels (but not those fatty mussels that you saw in the Belgium style dish). $35 for dinner of two is not as bad value as the $16 bowl of chowder. So overall, 3.5-4 stars for food and value, 5 stars for service and friendliness.
