So I took a trip down to the Field of Terror... located in the middle of nowhere in East Windsor, NJ. There isn't an actual parking lot- you're going to have to park your car in the middle of a field, but there are parking attendants to guide you. And yes, it's free! Luckily the lot is right near the farm so don't worry about walking too far. You can purchase your tickets online or once you get there. I came on a Thursday night 10/24 and there were no lines at all. There's a couple of ticket options depending on how many haunted attractions you want to do. There are 5 in total: Haunted Hayride, Kornfield Maze, Karnival, Timmery Manor, Paintball Wagon Ride. One attraction = $20 Two attractions = $35 Three attractions = $45 Four attractions = $50 Five attractions = $65 We didn't have much time so we only did one attraction, the Haunted Hayride. There was no wait at all, so we were able to get on right away. The entire attraction lasted about 15 minutes. I don't want to spoil anything.... but it was enjoyable. However, coming from someone who is the biggest scaredy cat, I wasn't SUPER spooked... so see for yourself. The farm itself is small and easy to navigate. All of the attractions are close to one another. There were actors walking around and I definitely got a couple of jump scares LOL. They have food stands available at very reasonable prices (mostly carnival/fair-themed food like burgers, fries, funnel cake, hot dogs). Plenty of seating to enjoy your food. There's a merchandise store with cute apparel and goodies. They also have a farmer's market selling some of their produce. Since I only did one haunted attraction, take this review with a grain of salt. Was it worth $20? Ehhhh, not really. But give it a try if you're in the area and see for yourself. Get spooky.

We had a few very weird occurrences happen throughout the night, most notably in the attic and basement, both of which gave off insanely heavy vibes. The staff is amazing as is the old mansion itself, which has been through a myriad of architectural changes throughout the decades. We will definitely be back for a day tour! You can stay inside as long as you want and revisit rooms over and over again. The staff is awesome and are always offering to take group photos. Halloween House prides itself on not being scary, just spooky, so it is good for all ages and is unique for the whole family. There are some creepy things to see, but there are no characters popping out and no surprises. It is all indoors at a storefront inside the Freehold Raceway Mall. We recommend parking near LL Bean/Primark and enter the mall where the main entrance by Jared and Cheesecake Factory is. Walk to the left and go down the escalator and the Halloween House is right there. Typically the mall only allows dogs in carriages, but for this event, as long as your dog is on a leash, that is fine to go to the Halloween House. The attraction is dark, loud, and can get crowded, so make sure your dog can handle it. We recommend going on a weekday and they are open 7 days a week through November 3rd and tickets can be purchased online at https://halloweenhousefreehold.com/. Dogs are free to enter! Brie and Louie Blu were great and well behaved and we cannot wait for their Christmas attraction coming soon.

This is a free haunted house sponsored by NYPD. It's my second year going…read more We get there early as the lines can get pretty long. Characters walk by for photo ops and entertainment while you wait in line. NYPD staff is so fun and friendly. The house is for ages 12 and older, they allow younger ages at the parent's discretion. It so well done with jump scares in almost every room. It feels like a safe outing. Hours this year are 5pm to 11pm from Friday to Sunday. They let you in in small groups so you don't feel rushed. At the end, they sell Halloween themed souvenirs with NYPD and Fort Totten on them. I bought a Tshirt to support such an awesome event which is FREE to the community. We loved it and appreciated it!

Overall, we had a good time, but there are definitely some areas where the experience could be improved. We purchased the Fright Fest bundle that included park admission and an Express Pass for the haunted attractions. Unfortunately, the process for using the Express Pass was much more complicated than it needed to be. The QR code provided with the purchase is essentially not enough on its own. When you arrive at a haunted attraction, you have to scan another QR code, log into the website using the same information you used to purchase your tickets, activate the pass, select the attraction you're entering, and repeat the process for each attraction. Having to constantly return to the website and go through those steps was inconvenient and took away from the experience. It would be much easier if the original QR code could simply be scanned at each attraction. Another improvement I would suggest is including Express Pass access for the regular rides in the Fright Fest bundle. Since the bundle already includes an Express Pass for the haunted attractions, having that same convenience for the main attractions would make the package feel much more worthwhile. One thing I highly recommend, though, is the Premium All Day Dining Pass. This honestly helped make our entire day much easier and saved us a lot of money. You can get an entrée and a side every 90 minutes, plus unlimited drink refills every 15 minutes. Most of the restaurants accept the pass, which makes it especially useful if you're spending the entire day at the park. When you visit your first dining location, they give you a wristband that you scan whenever you use the dining pass. Considering that an entrée can cost around $20, eating three times can already make the pass worthwhile. For around $45, being able to eat throughout the day and get free refills is a great value for someone planning to stay at the park for several hours. Overall, we had a fun birthday day at Six Flags, but I think the Express Pass system could be made much simpler and more user-friendly. The dining pass was definitely one of the highlights, while the haunted-attraction Express Pass was the biggest frustration. With some improvements to the ticketing system and bundle options, the overall experience could be much better.

Finally, at every ride we visited, the staff seemed unmotivated -- dragging their feet, no greetings, no smiles. I'd recommend that staff orientation emphasize how important it is to welcome guests warmly, ideally with a smile.
