Long lines even with flash pass, food and everything is WAAAY overpriced! Like it's more money that a ballpark. Barely any actors about and the haunted maze attraction like 1-3 actors max jump out and scare you.130$ for this isn't worth it to be honest. Way overcrowded. Busch Gardens in Tampa and their Hall-O-Scream was way better for cheaper. I remember back in the day, fright fest started and when the sun went down you heard this loud noice indicating that the ghouls were coming out which gave a sense of fear into everyone. Now they just kinda blandly walked out of wherever. And only in the main area right by the entrance. Half of them don't try and scare you they stare at you when you walk by. This is a buyers trap. We went for Freight Fest Saturday, October 26. Granted a weekend this close to Halloween was not ideal but the entire experience was horrendous. We paid for premium parking and several parking attendants had not idea where to direct us. The park was grossly oversold. Every line, rides and Halloween attractions were over an hour. They were severely under staffed. We searched for a long time for find someone to help us locate a ticket redemption center and after 20 minutes found it ourselves because there were no staff to help. Additionally it was never made clear we needed to first redeem our tickets for a wrist band before we could enter the Halloween attractions. We waited in line for an attraction for 30min just to be told one we reached the front that we needed a wrist band. At no point while entering the park or in emails during ticket purchase online were we instructed of this. After three and a half hours we walked through one haunted maze, rode one roller coaster and left extremely disappointed. This was clearly just one enormous money grab for the park. Very unorganized and too crowded to see all of the haunted houses. They charged you an extra fee to enjoy fright fest even after you paid for admission to the park. Parking is expensive 45 dollars for regular 60 dollars for preferred parking. I would not return to six flags again. read more

I was always a fan of the Freight fest celebration at the park , I think it's great how they deck out the park & all the extra work they put into it. This most recent visit the fountain was orange , pretty cool I'd always seem it red in the past. Decent maze's to check out at an extra cost not much $8, but for what u pay to get into the park stuff like that should be included at least 1 since they do have a few to check out.. they had spooky cemetery which I don't recall seeing before kinda cool .. really liked the laser lights that lit up the sky. Sad that they didn't have the zombie parade they used to have pre COVID times , understandable . Overall fright fest can be fun , assuming temperatures are not freezing cold , doesn't rain & the rides don't have crazy long wait times. read more

I love Six Flags especially during Halloween. I went a few years ago to Fright Fest and thought it was a lot of fun. Who doesnt like to be at an amusement park that is all decorated for Halloween and many of the employees are dressed up in Halloween costumes. I used to be big on Halloween and thought it was awesome to come here ride on the roller coasters and wait in line for the haunted attractions. The only downfall is that you have to pay an extra price for the haunted attractions, which is a rip off because you are already paying to get into the park, which is a pretty penny if you don't have a coupon or anything. read more

A complete disorganized mess. Groups of 20+ people were cutting lines for haunted mazes and rides with no security in sight. Lots of pushing and shoving because it was too overcrowded. Waited over an hour for the Saw haunted maze to be utterly disappointed by the lack of scare actors and scenery. I feel like I want six flags to pay for the therapy it will take for me to get over this experience. Awful from beginning to end. 2 hour wait for haunts, when you have only a 4 hour window of fright fest time, $18 beer, kindergarten level makeup on the actors, barely any actors, minors asking to buy them alcohol, line cutters, etc. Bottom line, way too many people, their only goal is taking your money and none of their budget spent on quality. Only 4 haunted houses which were crap. There weren't any monsters and the whole experience was crap. 85% of the rides were closed down. Only positive about going here is that it wasn't overcrowded. Castle Dark/Knotts Scary Farm is WAY cheaper and is actually fun. It's also 1.5 hours closer to my house. I don't recommend. read more

This actually should be given 0 starts. Lines are outrageous. Even when paying for express pass which is 90 dollars I waited over an hour for every haunted attraction. The make up on the Cast Members resembled your child's face paint. This will be the last time I come to this and this was my first experience. They could have organized this better. read more

I am super disappointed with Six Flags Fright Fest. I do not understand why all they have these haunted houses now which is additional to the price of the ticket or does not include it for people who have season passes. I remember going a few years ago where there were no additional prices, that's kinda why you're already paying the $70+ to go to Six Flags during this time in the year. Before everything was included so it's really disappointing that is an additional $30-40 per person for whatever "haunted" attractions they have. They barely have anyone walking around in costumes anymore either just really in the carnival area with all the games. Overall, disappointment and I'm really considering if I'll be getting a season pass again. read more

So far, not impressed. We've been waiting in a 30 min line just to buy haunted maze tickets. Reflections of the dead- cool concept but not a very long maze Wicked Woods-random scenes thrown into a maze Hellfest-lackluster actors considering Hellfest promo team was there doing photos and handing out discount coupons to see in theater Cell block 6-express was probably twice the wait of the regular line but at least 2 of the actors were good. They mingled in the line and heckled people in our line that were scared. Fears-Literally one of the lamest houses. Most of the House was plastic bugs on the wall or snakes that didn't move or were poorly lit. My grandmother has a deathly fear of snakes and even she didn't care. Clown house (don't remember the name)-3D concept but not many actors. It was a cool walk through but not scary. We didn't go in the other 2 remaining houses since they were not open the night we attended. I honestly expected better. read more

This was incredible! the makeup on the monsters was Universal Studios Amazing!!! now i've never been to the halloween at Universal..but seriously these monsters looked real!!! the fog on the rides... the monsters scaring and creeping...(and yes...your little one's will probably cry) the park open till midnight!!!! also there are a few activities for the little one's...trick or treating, arts and crafts and some other things...fun for the whole family! i can't wait till next year! i already bought my 2012 season pass for the whole family read more

Very crowded. Even with the fast pass lines about an hour or more. Spend more time waiting on lines than enjoying attractions. Over an hour on line for a 2 minute ride or walking through a haunted house. Also, the tickets are very expensive. So if you want to pay over 100 dollars to stand in line this might be for you. My first year at Fright Fest.. and I'm glad that I went.. despite everything being sooo freaking expensive, I had a really good time. The park does a nice job of being festive and the workers are in full character. We paid an extra $35 to go through the haunted houses.. and they were creative and cool, but not really scary. I don't know.. I guess I actually want to be scared in a haunted house and I don't think that's ever happened (so don't take that personally Six Flags). It was fun, though.. The ghouls were everywhere... and would jump out and scare you all throughout the park--which always kept it exciting. The creepy music definitely added to the experience, which was nice. We paid extra to cut the lines, but because we went on a Monday night, there really were no lines to cut! But.. anyways.. I loved the little bar area... the blood bag sangria was an awesome idea... nice to take a little reprieve with some adult libations.. then, we headed for the rides.. Man, those rides were super cool. I especially loved the Batman 3D ride thing where you shoot the characters? I forget the name.. but I was super impressed. The park was extremely overcrowded. Every single ride had at least a one hour wait time with the most popular rides and the haunted houses being 2-4 hours of waiting. The parade was pitiful and didn't mention that there was a performance at the beginning of the parade so people not at the front were extremely confused and annoyed for 30 minutes while they waited for the parade to actually start moving. The actual parade had 4 floats and was over in 15 minutes. The website also neglected to mention that a wristband was needed for the haunted houses for an extremely obvious marketing scam. To get a wristband you had to go into a retail store and get it at the cashier desk, but because the park was so overcrowded there was at least a 30 minute wait just to get a free wristband (if you had purchased a fright fest ticket already). Also, the only way to know that you had to get a wristband was to either see one sign on the ground in front of the retail store, which due to the crowd, was near impossible to see, or to wait about 30 minutes in the actual haunted house line to get to a checkpoint where a worker would then tell you to leave and get a wristband, fast pass or not. In the haunted house I went to the employees hadn't even bothered putting the wristband sign out front because of the crowds. The staff who walk around and scream at you are ok, but not very scary. Same with the haunted houses, they are just meh overall. During my group's eight hours at the park, we were only able to ride 2 rides, a kid ride and one haunted house. I would never recommend going to fright fest without a fast pass and I would still heavily discourage you from going with a fast pass. read more

CALLING OUT SIX FLAGS Jackson NJ Very disgusted at Six Flags. My minor son had his first job as a ghoul at fright fest. Couldn't wait to be old enough to work at fright fest,he auditioned & was a clown in clown town . Joey's love of acting shines through as he took on this fright fest clown role. Unfortunately he had to learn some real life lessons real quick. I am proud of the way he handled himself. But I must call out Six Flags Jackson NJ for their failure to protect their employees! so i finally got to come and check out the infamous fright fest at six flags this year. my sister and i spontaneously came and actually got the annual pass (good until jan 2021) instead of the one time pass because the annual pass was actually cheaper. i guess due to the halloween season, the lines were extremely long. parking itself took over an hour. we arrived around 6ish but didn't get into the park until almost 7:30ish (especially because we had to park where hurricane harbor was and walk to great adventure - there is a shuttle if needed but the wait was long). the park was CROWDED and it was annoying trying to get through them , especially because all the girls were running and screaming away from all the actors who are trying to scare you. i do have to say that i loved coming here at night because of the different atmosphere and decor. the actors did a phenomenal job adding to the ambiance but it wasn't scary in my opinion. although the park closed at midnight, my friends and i only rode two rides (nitro and el toro) because the lines were about 30-60 minutes long and the rides were breaking down due to the cold (also due to stupid people who kept bringing their phones on line and to the ride when the staff CONSISTENTLY told them not to- if you do bring it with you on line, know that they if they catch you, you will be taken out of line and you will lose your spot- don't be an idiot and leave your phone in the locker. you. will. live.) anyways, i had a great time even though i was here only for a couple of hours . definitely recommend people coming to check it out once in their lives. not bad read more

This place is a logistics nightmare. I believe the park may be knowingly doing this to visitors. Admissions gets you into the park but then there is another line to get in then additional charges for the fright fest whatever...blah... blah... First you're sent to the fright fest ticket line, but wait, didn't I already pay for this ($80 to just get in?). Oh...go to Season Pass building...go that way then right then left and wait in line for 20 minutes to talk to the one poor employee behind the counter of 8 registers....to be told that no...you don't have access...additional purchase then sends you to the next building. I expected to get mugged coming here but they take it to a whole new level. Nightmare experience and I've only been here 1 hour. Fright fest is right. Just not the one you expect. I've not been to an amusement park in years...and will not ever subject myself to this ever again. Next year I'll just head up to Mass for the Big E...if it's still around....or Coney Island. Cyclone is scarier than any of these new rides! I havent been here in years and growing up this was the place to be in the summer. In all my times here I have never been during Fright Fest. Damn was I missing out. It is so fun. We came on a Friday and there was barely anyone there. The great part was there was no lines on the rides. We went on all the heavy hitters. Nitro, Kingda Ka, Batman, etc. We also went on the freefall ride under kingda ka which was very scary but amazing. The best part was all the employees in character. During fright fest you have random people walking around trying to scare you. It is awesome. They are so into character that it makes it fun. This was an awesome time. Six flags is a staple. The one negative is that parking and the one day ticket is expensive but it is a good time. Weird enough the one day ticket is MORE expensive than the season pass so we got the season pass. We have no choice but to come back! read more

This is the worst fright night, fest or anything I have been to. First I Spent 80.00 bucks for a season pass x4 passes. When we went to the first spook house we were told you need a wrist band, I asked; where do we get those? reply; back by the front gate.... WTF! So we go all the way back up to the front and these guys charged me $15.00ea for a stinking wrist band! so $45 bucks more on top of the 4 season passes. So other than people screaming in your face like boot camp, this was the lamest well, for lack of a better description walk thru of the dullest spook houses anywhere We went thru 3 of them and I now know why there were no lines, heck roger rabbit at Disneyland is spookier. We did a better job when I was a kid in our front yard on Halloween! So I guess It's back to Knotts Scary Farm for us. They rock Halloween and are a lot more creative. Too bad too, six Flags is so much closer to my house. The only saving grace was we got to rock a couple of coasters in the dark, way fun! We had annual passes before we got to fright fest. So it definitely was worth the time and money. Great Halloween fun for the family. The monsters were also respectful to little kids and parents. We wished the annual passes covered the haunted houses. On the other hand, it's recommended that you get a food pass. It saves money and time! Smh I've wanted to go to fright fest at six flags since I was a kid and never went until this year !! I wish I would not have went to save the illusion that this would have been some terrifying experience !! After spending nearly 100$ and change for each ticket because you can't experience fright fest without an actual park ticket plus the fright fest ticket they get you for another 40$ a ticket to skip lines . We went through maybe 6 haunted houses , and not one of them had more than 2-4 actors in each house. There were no real jump scares , to be honest there was nothing really scary at all !! Even the scare zones they have through out the park you could walk through each one without even seeing anyone appear. I don't know if they were understaffed this year or this is a normal experience !! It feels like you are walking through someones haunted house they made in their garage for Halloween trick or treaters with decoration from party city and spirit Halloween. It was an awful experience .. beyond disappointed !! You would think a place with a budget like six flags has they would bring some pure terror to their amusement park when they advertise fright fest !!! This event is great if you don't want to be the least bit frightened, but want to go to a Halloween event. On second thought if that's the case you should go to Disneyland, at least their Halloween event is correctly advertised. Fright Fest is more like a smelly game of charades at a distant relative's house. And I mean literally smelly: the odors of the excessively used fog, people in the lines, and actors were almost as offensive as the line cutters and inattentive employees. If I didn't have a season pass I would've skipped this entire event since my previous Six Flags Fright Fest experience at Six Flags New England was disappointing, but I figured since this is so close to LA, the land of makeup artists, actors, and special effects professionals, this Fright Fest would be worthwhile. I was wrong. The lines for the mazes were ridiculously long, which would have been fine if the mazes were at least a little scary, and took slightly longer than 3 minutes to get through. The actors' tactic of screaming in my ear or blowing on my neck just made me want to take a purell bath. It was not frightening beyond making me concerned about their germs. Additionally, an excessive amount of people cut the line. Boarding passes were handed out at each maze when we first got in line, but not one maze collected them. If you're going to hand those out at least pretend to enforce the "no line jumping" rules. Most of the security guards were too busy hitting on underage girls to do their jobs, which was probably the most horrifying thing I witnessed at Fright Fest. Based on the last weekend of operation (Saturday, 10/27/12) which means it was packed-like-sardines CROWDED! I wish Six Flags staff members did something about LINE CUTTERS! It's not fun to be waiting in a line for over an hour, then having a large group of teens push their way to the front of the line where their friend is waiting. You can stay inside the park if you've been there all day when it transforms into Fright Fest without an additional ticket. BUT if you want to enter the mazes, you have to pay $10 for a "maze pass" which is cool, unlike Universal Studios and Knotts. Also unlike US and Knotts, the mazes are blah. No crazy, mind blowing, detailed set with matching monsters. --Jokester's Hideout 3D: I've been to this 6 years ago, and it didn't change one bit! Regardless, after the long wait to enter, it's fun hiding from the clowns popping out of unexpected places! --Lecter's Slaughterhouse: zZz! It looked like a put-together-at-the-last-minute slaughterhouse but nothing scary in here! --The Aftermath: This one was fun and different because part of it was outside, instead of inside a tent/building. TONS of hiding places for monsters to hide and lots of metal for them to bang on. --BlackOut: 2 HOUR+ WAIT *not* worth it! You and 5(?) other people hold onto a rope. The leader of the rope gets a tiny "flashlight" to lead you thru the pitch black maze while monsters growl and make strange noises near your face. I personally didn't enjoy because of the long wait, quick maze, and lack of monsters inside. The line for this is in front of the "Off With Your Head" show so you'll be able to watch it.. over and over and over! Rides are open and lines were somewhat shorter since people were drawn to the mazes. Crowds, wait times and monster energy may vary.. but not worth it in my opnion. Maybe purchasing a front of the line pass would make it better, but I don't even think it would be worth it for mediocre mazes. Overall, never again. read more

Note this is not a review of Six Flags, but specifically of the "Fright Fest" elements of the park. This is a fun event. They set up "fright zones" where actors in costume startle guests who wander through those zones. The actors also wander the park among the guests. They have fog generators to add ambiance. It's all fun. I got a "free" maze pass and did one of the mazes. Honestly, I didn't think much of it. I wouldn't pay extra to go through them. The "Fright Feast" dinner is OK. The show that went with it was just a magic show. Nothing special, or even particularly good. The food choices could have been more varied, but it was decent food. And you could go back for more (until they run out). There is an extra fee for this too. The best part, besides the general ambiance, is that the park stays open until 1am. That's a LOT more riding!!! read more

The park itself during fright fest is incredible and fun, lots of fog and red lights and creatures and statues that make it cool. However the haunted attractions are not worth the extra $40. They are short and boring and the lines are entirely too long. read more

I went to Six Flags with my family, not expecting Fright Fest to be in effect. To my surprise (as it was my first time attending Fright Fest), the park was fitted in Halloween decor. The decorations seemed lazy, though, in my opinion. But once 7pm hit, the park's atmosphere was full blown Halloween-mode. They had mist/smoke going off everywhere. They started it off with a show starring two monstrous characters, which led to tens of other ghouls, zombies, and ghosts to run around and scare people. Unfortunately, the haunted houses and mazes weren't included with the price of admission, which seems like another way to suck extra dollars out of the patrons. The overall feel and look of Fright Fest at night is great and the festivities are fun to watch. The rides are even better to ride at night. I might have to go again next year. read more

Two years ago they hit a home run!!! This year they fell short. The mansion is a great maze. The Houdini maze rocks!!! I actually think that one was better this year because of the real magician performance. The Red Revenge & the one across from it 666 were pretty great and had wonderful staff and actors. The rest were ok. I actually thought the blackout maze was a waste of time because it wasn't dark enough. The band and the scare zones were a pretty big failure this year with the performers. A few of the stilt walkers were great and a couple of performers really try but the zones just aren't done well and too many actors are just doing photos and not scaring anyone. The hypnotist is ok. We don't ride rides but it's cool that you can. They do an ok job on purging the lines through the mazes. If you don't have a fast pass you might have to go more than once. read more
