Don't bring your car here. We had our Nissan Rogue in for major front-end work starting on Friday morning. The repair itself was large, and we understood that -- but the communication throughout the 6-day process was extremely poor. We received very few updates unless we reached out, and when we asked about a loaner we were only offered a paid rental (first at $30/day, then "discounted" to $20/day). For almost a week without a car, no complimentary accommodations were offered. At one point I was told the repair couldn't be completed because our service advisor was out for a day and she was the only person who could finish the paperwork. The repair itself seems fine now that we finally have the car back, but the customer service and communication were way below expectations, especially for a multi-day, nearly $4,000 repair. Be careful what tires are on your vehicle when you purchase a vehicle here. I bought a brand new 2023 Rogue SV Sport here for close to $40,000. This rogue has a governor on the accelerator, so you can't go too fast really quickly. I do not speed around or beat up my car. I drive for amazon. After 20,000 miles, my factory tires are not even 14 months old after purchase. I need new tires already. I spoke to my sales rep, the service rep, and the service manager. They told me there was no warranty on the factory tires and told me to call consumer affairs for nissan. I shouldn't have to do this on a brand new car. The bottom line is if you're going to buy a car here, I guess you should be expecting them to take advantage of you, because that's how I feel about my experience. Needless to say, I won't be buying another vehicle here after feeling like this. It's ridiculous to need new tires and spending 1,000 dollars on tires after 1 year on a brand new car and only 20,000 miles. Nissan was aware of this situation being a problem and them giving you poor tires on new factory tires. Unfortunately, they pretty much told me that was my problem. I had a great experience with my sales re the woman that sold me the car "Rhee". When I purchased the vehicle, everything was smooth and enjoyable and also a fast experience. So that made me comfortable with Nissan and was hoping to build a relationship here for future purchases. Unfortunately, this tire experience has changed my thoughts. If they are willing to practice poor standards on tires service knowing this, then what else would they be willing to not stand behind? read more

Check engine light came on. Had it checked out. Said I needed a grill shutter. Said it was covered under my warranty. The OEM part from Nissan is about $375. 2 days later the call and say sorry we made a mistake. The warranty doesn't cover it. The bill is $1100. They actually charged $800 for the part. Unbelievable gouging. I do not recommend going anywhere near that ripoff shop. I will NEVER go there again. read more

Ever since Nielsen took over this dealership, they have been a nightmare to deal with. When we first purchased our lease, we got a package of free oil changes to use. Nielsen bought the dealership a year into our lease and didn't honor that package anymore. They didn't bother to update us though and we got the news and a $100 bill at the service dept for a simple oil change. Since then, every time we go in for a new lease they charge us more and more and we get less and less. Today I blew out my tire while driving and went to grab a spare, only to discover that they didn't supply a spare tire in our vehicle. I called the dealership and was told "we don't give spares anymore". When I asked why, the representative on the phone said, "I don't know, I just work here". What kind of answer is that?! They didn't bother to mention that detail to us during the THREE HOURS it took for them to process our new lease. So now I have a $150 tow bill on top of the other hefty bill to replace all tires. After being a customer for over 7 years with this dealership, we are done. They do not value their customers or their employees. read more

Not shocked to see their horrible rating. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! They have no ethics or morals. I bought a used vehicle from them. I at the time was leasing a Nissan Altima with 3 payments left ($749.00). I asked them to come down that amount on the price of the used truck. They advised they would and they would pay off the lease and I can bring my Altima to them and they would turn it in. I live in PA 2 hours away and always thought I had to turn my vehicle in at the dealership I bought it. They advised me no. I asked are you sure? They said yes. I asked if there will be any fees I will have to pay bc I don't want to get a bill a month from now. The salesman and finance guy ASSURED me everything will be taken care of with my Altima lease. A month later I get a $421 disposition fee. The dealership gave me their word I would not be out of pocket any money if I turn my lease into them. The manager calls me back and states, "everyone knows there is a disposition fee." My convertible top jammed on my 2011 Murano. The quote to fix it was $3500. It sat for a week until the parts arrived. The installation either was wrongly done or not the problem at all, because they wanted $16000 for a new top on top of the "work" they did. The car was deemed a total loss by Farmers insurance. The dealership held the car until they got PAID the $3500. Really? What a bunch of crooks... And on top of that they gave me attitude. Thanks a lot Anthony. To say that this dealership is bad, is putting it lightly, most notably their service department. I had scheduled an appointment a week prior (phone call) with a female who works in service for a simple oil change, yet they never made sure that it was correctly put into the system. I came in yesterday 7/13/2022, driving 30 minutes out of my way to get this job done, and they claimed that an appointment had never been set. The best that they could do is waiting 2 hours to appease my needs. There was also another incident 6 months ago in which they had me wait 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the same job (oil change) mentioned above. Over the years, I have purchased several Nissan vehicles through this dealership. Because of the failure to meet my needs, and lack of consistency, they have permanently lost me as a customer, therefore I do not recommend doing business with them. read more

Great experience at the old Lynn's while trading in my Forester for a Frontier. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and led to an associate. Everyone was cordial and polite. My sales associate Daniel Poinsett was very attentive to my needs and did a great job of putting me in the vehicle I wanted within a price I could afford from the Edmunds online tool for my trade along with the internet price for the buy. No hassle, even got surprised that they offered me more for my trade than I expected! The paperwork went smoothly with Marcelis Harris in finance and he supplied me with a very nice explanation of the nitty gritty along with a very affordable bumper to bumper warranty. It was many years ago in the past that I had did business with Lynn's and I got a great deal back then also. I had been dealing with the lynnes Nissan for about 20 years and bought over 10 vehicles from them and always had great dealings with the service department. But Nielsen Nissan is not the same. I got a recall notice of a safety concern with a hood latch and called to correct it. They didn't seemed concerned and wouldn't give me an appointment for over a week. Worst experience ever...purchased a used Rouge the duped me on the number of months on the contract...It goes to show you that you have to really watch when they write numbers on a piece of scrap paper with lines drawn to the number of months and the monthly price. Especially when you are negotiating back and forth with the salesmen and the manager. We purchased a preowned car from here and brought It for a routine check and oil change three months later. We got this nice printout that said everything was perfect with the car (convenient). For the next oil change we decided to use valvoline instead. They said the car had many issues that were pretty obviously there when the car was purchased. It was to the point that they told us to mention the lemon law to this dealership. I have to say Anthony in service was very nice and helpful. He treated us very fairly and compassionately. When speaking with Jose the "general manager" we received the opposite treatment. First of all he claimed that car batteries only last about 9 months. Now I'm not a car expert but I do have google and this simply isn't true. You should never lie to a customer and treat them like they don't know any better. Secondly he blamed us and tried to say it's possible it's because we left the lights on. He refused to take any accountability for this and the best the he could offer was 15-20% off. On top of that the phone call ended with him saying "I don't expect to see you around here again" (very professional). How anyone hired this guy in dress clothes and sneakers to be a general manager is beyond me. read more

Ha ha! I always worked in Manahattan and just got a two year consulting gig at Princeton University. My car was old and I needed a new car for the commute. Nissan of Stanhope had a nice Volvo advertised and I came with my checkbook. I arrived in coveralls because I'm building a new 50' offshore yacht on the weekends. It's my second boat building endeavor and I didn't worry about cleaning up. They looked at me like I was a janitor and ignored me. I left and bought a nice Volvo in East Hanover. Good Evening, I am writing to you to let you know my level of disgust with how your service dept tried to take advantage of my girlfriend while she was having her car's oil changed this past Friday. She received a call that the oil change was done, and her car would be ready to be picked up shortly after 1pm, but that her front brakes DESPERATELY needed to be replaced. "They need to be replaced IMMEDIATELY before the end of the weekend," were the exact words she was given. After I set everything up to get ready to do this work myself, I found that the brakes have about 80% of their life left. NOT what I expected from a dealership that we purchased her car from. I took my car here for new brakes. A couple of weeks afterwards, I noticed a noise and vibration, particularly at higher speeds. I took it to another Nissan dealer who informed me that only 2 of 5 lug nuts were put on the front passenger tire, and that tire had become loose. It was so careless of a mistake that they assumed it must have been something that I or a friend did. They also mentioned that this was very dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm to me and my passengers if I hadn't gotten it fixed when I did. Fortunately, they quickly fixed this for a very small fee. I'm very disappointed that this Nissan dealer was so careless to not put a tire on properly. Extremely unprofessional! read more

Beware of the good reviews prior to 2018, those are for Lynne's Nissan, the previous owners. I leased a car in June 2017, and was promised complimentary oil changes for the life of the lease. Stanhope Nissan is not honoring this! If they are this cheap with existing clients for simple oil changes, how are they conducting their business in other areas? Once the lease is up, I'll move on and hopefully find a dealership that has integrity, it's lacking here. This is quite possibly the worst dealership on the surface of the earth. If you want a complete piece of garbage then this is the place for you. The vehicle I purchased was advertised as "Certified Pre-owned". I'm not sure why it costs $500 to actually get that given that it was advertised as such. Should have been part of the advertised price. Also, 11 months after I bought my gigantic piece of junk the engine went on it, and they wouldn't cover it under the warranty. The idiot at the service department told me the cheapest they could replace it for was going to be $9,500. I went to another dealership and had it done for roughly $6,700. The vehicle was only 10 months old and they wanted to soak me for another $9,500. Please, do yourself a huge favor and never buy a Nissan or anything else from this dealership. It will be a complete nightmare. The salesman, Dan, was hounding me to write him a sparkling review. Well, here you go Dan-O...here's your review. This place is a complete dumpster fire.
