I've been seeing Joey for training for about a month now. I had a few friends that had been attending for months and had ranted and raved about the place. They invited me to check it out on numerous occasions but I opposed and made excuses: cost, no time, & I thought what I was doing (running, spin, combat classes, and soccer) was enough. Till the day came when I injured my knee. I couldn't run, I couldn't spin and I had to quit soccer. I was super sad, then lazy, and with a wedding around the corner with me as MoH I couldn't afford to sit around and do nothing. I even work at LA fitness and couldn't get motivated to do anything with fear of causing more damage to my knee. I had to do something. I met Joey and was instantly drawn in by his positive and motivating energy. One bad day later I called him up and made an appt to go in to burn off some bad energy. He worked with me and my bad knee. We talked about goals and such. He encouraged, and motivated me. I was hooked on O.P.T. We worked out a schedule and cost, smashing my excuses. That night after my first session with him, and his referral to a physical therapist, I signed up for the Pat Tillman run feeling confidant that with his help I could run pain free. Joey is so passionate about his work and his people. He puts a lot of time into his personal training sessions and is considerate of each persons need/wants/injuries. I love this place! I've done several energy healings not only with myself but with my two boys as well. I also just gave birth to my 3rd child who I did open adoption with and she did a reading with myself, the adoptive couple I chose, and baby girl. It was absolutely amazing and the adoptive couple I chose loved it so much as well. It was very eye-opening and so wonderful to hear how she brings us all together. I'm still having a hard time adjusting to this and I am grateful for the relationship I have with the couple I chose but I have my days where I miss her so much and I am crying off and on. I decided to see Julia today for a DNA energy healing, I DEFINITELY recommend this if you're dealing with negative thought patterns and you're just wondering why you can't break it. She shared with me a past life I lived where I lived a hard time and I brought that sorrow in with me in this current life and how going through this OA and grieving over my daughter activated it. She helped me release that negative energy and after she was done, I felt so much better. I felt lighter and happier like something literally was lifted from me. The zendo (meditation hall) is the other structure in the backyard. Very kind and welcoming people. An introductory lesson is typically required before sitting. It was very informative as there are a quite a few traditions to follow. Three 25 minute sittings, one walking meditation, chanting, followed by tea. It's not a requirement to stay for all of the sittings. I felt very welcomed and am very much so enjoying this new practice.

Both experiences were unique yet similar: * The studio session was relaxing to the point that my racing mind was able to go blank for a decent period of time, just absorbing the vibrations of the bowls echoing in the room. * The private session made me feel grounded especially being outside in the grass with the mixed in sounds of nature.
